It's so interesting how far down the list one must go to see any songs from Control. But these 20 songs make for an excellent greatest hits list! Her 80's albums don't have great playlisting on Spotify like her 90's albums do. It's so interesting how far down the list one must go to see any songs from Control. But these 20 songs make for an excellent greatest hits list! I know βCall On Meβ got some love from radio but num. 10 most streamed song from Janet in 2022β¦ The song is nice enough but I remember when it came out. I was driving with 3 other people and they premiered the song on our local Rhythmic station and everyone in the car was pumped. Then the song ended and everyone kind of just shrugged and agreed, it was ok I guessβ¦ A lot of the online fans are indifferent towards Call On Me. I'm glad it's getting a lot of love. I've always been a fan of 20 Y.O. and wish the singles had more success. I do know that it was a hit in Brazil and most of the video views are coming from there, so I assume the streams are too.

I Want You is one of my all-time favorite Janet songs and my favorite song on Damita Jo.

I still love the βDisciplineβ album. As a whole I like it more than the βAll For Youβ album. I still donβt get how βFeedbackβ didnβt smash. βLuvβ was so catchy. I still stick it on playlists. β2 Niteβ was a favorite along with βSo Much Bettaβ. I loved most of the ballads from the album. My favorites at the time were βNever Letchu Goβ and βGreatest Xβ. This is actually an album I can probably play top to bottom and possibly not skip anything.

I enjoyed Discipline as well, and personally always enjoyed the majority of the tracks than I ever did with Damita Jo. Greatest X and maybe Discipline are the only two tracks I never really cared for. As far as her 2000s output, I rank it after 20 Y.O. and All For You, as those are the ones I skip the least and always loved the sex jams from them more.
My most played tracks back then were 2Nite, Rollercoaster, LUV, Can't B Good, Feedback, So Much Betta, and What's Ur Name.

This guy is not too bright in the head π He's so clueless... I don't see where he says anything one way or another about Janet. Those headlines and comments act like he said it was good for Janet, but he did not; he simply said it brought publicity for the NFL halftime shows, and notes he was asked about the halftime show despite playing in the game. That's all probably accurate. It would have been nice for him to also acknowledge that the NFL profited off Janet's demise, but I find the comments about him misleading as they act like he said it was ok as the one tweet says he "thinks all of that was ok" but nowhere did I see him say that. Anyway the highs of Discipline were really nice; my favorites are "Curtains" and "Feedback."

The point is that he is taking a situation that is deeply rooted in misogynism and racism, and that is broadly recognized as destroying a Black woman's career and legacy, and recasting it as beneficial, all from a position of immense privilege. So, yeah - absolutely clueless.

Honestly the Discipline era peaked with the Feedback single cover, song release & video β€οΈβπ₯
It was all downhill from there, albumβs a dud, poodle wig was the nadir & then there was the Fuck Witchu Tourβ¦ what are we celebrating exactly? The bridge from 2nite maybe

The bridge from 2nite maybe We are celebrating this superior video. I saw the Rock Witchu Tour (the random shift from "With U" to "Witchu" was odd; I blame JD) twice - Vancouver and Toronto - and really enjoyed it. Then she f**ked me over with Montreal and it was hard to forgive. Also, 2Nite's production really lets the song down. It needed to hit way harder. But yeah, the poodle wig was a CHOICE. A goddamned CHOICE. I'm still traumatized.
