Oh man, bummed to see "Tonight The Hearteache's On Me" out now, it still feels too early. That song is '90s country perfection, with clever lyrics and catchy melody and amazing production. I also really enjoy "If I Fall", but that one feels just about right to be leaving now. Everything left is wonderful! Although I wouldn't mind seeing "Taking the Long Way" go sooner rather than later. On second thought, "Taking The Long Way" isn't even close to being my lowest song left. I guess I don't even know what I want. Your lowest ranked song left is surprising to me still lol but it's someone else's lowest ranked left as well.

Haha the thing is, I am not surprised to see that song still in, and I am not upset about it at all either. It could make the top 10 and I would still be happy as a clam! So "lowest song left" at this point is pretty much a meaningless expression I guess.

Yeah, literally no idea. Since it's Beyonce, I'm just gonna go with "Sin Wagon" lol What's so sinful about Beyonce? 3 people are about to lose a top 10. As the results came in I wished you guys had ranked this one higher as I'm the top ranker and will lose my #3! :(

16. Top Of The WorldPoints: 421 Average Rank: 18 SD: 8.8853 Album: Home Release Date: May 2003 Writer(s): Patty Griffin Producer(s): Dixie Chicks & Lloyd Maines Charts:N/A "Top of the World" is a contemporary folk-country song written by Patty Griffin and most known as recorded and performed in Grammy Award-winning fashion by the Dixie Chicks. Griffin wrote and recorded "Top of the World" for her would-be 2000 album Silver Bell.[1] But a dispute with her label A&M Records caused the album to go unreleased and Griffin to be dropped,[1] although copies of Silver Bell circulated and increased Griffin's reputation as a songwriter within the music industry.[2] The Dixie Chicks, who had already covered other Griffin songs and had toured with Griffin on their 2000 Fly Tour,[3] recorded "Top of the World" as the concluding track on their 2002 album Home. Beginning quietly with Home's mixture of acoustic stringed instruments, and with the vocal line shifting around among one-, two-, and three-part singing, the song begins by portraying an almost unbearable level of regret[4][5] at things not done:[6][7] I wished I was smarter, I wished I was stronger. I wished I loved Jesus The way my wife does ... I wish it had been easier Tension is built up with pauses, then midway through a string section begins accompanying in an ominous fashion. The reason for the regret is fully unveiled:[4][6] I come home in the evening, Sit in my chair. One night they called me for supper But I never got up — I stayed right there, in my chair. The strings then pick up in intensity during the instrumental coda, as Chicks lead singer Natalie Maines moans wordlessly and then repeats "To the top of the world" as a mantra over and over. Dixie Chick Emily Robison said of "Top of the World" that it was "biggest departure on the album, but I'm so glad that we did it because I think it shows a whole other dimension."[7] During their 2002 concert film An Evening with the Dixie Chicks, Maines attempted to explain the song's startingly unusual perspective: It is written from the point of view of a man who has passed on, and he's sort of looking down wishing that he had been a different person, and having a lot of regrets and wishing he hadn't had the negative effect on the people in his life and err... I don't know what I just said...
I personally have two songs ranked higher but this is the first song I usually listen to to fix my Dixie Chicks craving. Natalie's vocal is stunning on here and Martie's playing is killer. Honestly can't believe this one didn't make the top 10.

I remember they releasing this right in the middle of their whole controversy and I don't think I could've been a bigger fan of them at that time. I was so proud of them and at the same time, so enraged at the country community for not standing up for them that it pushed me away from the genre for a good 2 years. That's how disappointed I was with the whole situation.
Having said that, I love this cover and being a song released at that time, It brings me an extra appreciation for it

Ugh, "Top Of The World" is amazing :'( I never fully appreciated it when I was a kid, but listening to it again in recent months I have come to realize how truly iconic it is! Love everything about it, but especially the vocals and lyrics.

Hint for #15! Should be easier than the last one! (Sophie Muller directed all those Beyonce videos & "Top Of The World's)

It took me way too long to figure out where that last Bey clip was from. (Well, that and I'm going back and forth between this and work on my own rankdowns)
First three on their own Deja Vu, Ring the Alarm, Broken-Hearted Girl - left me stumped. But the fourth is from a live perf of I Was Here, and once I figured that out the clue made more sense. (afterlife POV) edit - oh! common video director. I never would have figured that out lol

For me this the song that really captures the electric essence of this girls! It's like a country punch to the face. I love it! I guess for a non-single it got a nice position though

Probably Sin Wagon, but is there a chance that it's There's Your Trouble instead? (Sandy being the girl that Danny keeps 'seeing double with the wrong one' - Sandy left him at the drive-in and he was begging for her not to leave him)
