So rude Kanenrá:ke! Let's help our non-Grease expert out a little bit. bboat11, Danny makes a move on Sandy at the drive-in. She angrily calls his car a "sin wagon" (that's where DC got the title of their song from), throws his class ring at him, and walks out of the drive-in. As she leaves he sings to her not to leave him out there looking a fool b/c he'll be the laughingstock of the school on Monday. Also watch Grease for cryin' out loud! It's a classic!

15. Sin WagonPoints: 430 Average Rank: 17 SD: 9.5655 Album: Fly Release Date: August 31, 1999 Writer(s): Natalie Maines, Emily Robison, & Stephony Smith Producer(s): Blake Chancey & Paul Worley Charts:U.S. Country: #52 "Sin Wagon" is a song written by Natalie Maines, Emily Erwin, and Stephony Smith and recorded by the Dixie Chicks for their 1999 album Fly. Though never released as a single, it charted as an album cut and is one of the band's most popular songs to date. It has been featured in five tours: Fly, Top of the World, Accidents & Accusations, Eagles with Dixie Chicks and the DCX MMXVI World Tour.
The song's title was conceived by Dixie Chicks lead singer Natalie Maines. It is a reference to a scene in Grease; after Danny tries to make a move on Sandy at the drive-in, and she furiously calls his car a "sin wagon".[3] "Sin Wagon" was written "really quickly". The song's message is that "even the most good girl just has that wild side and you got to let it out occasionally,"[3] a contrast to country music's "stay-at-home" stereotype.
Probably their most fun song live, this is one of the very few songs where I prefer the live version to the studio. I wish it had been an actual single as I think it's popularity would've made it huge.

"Sin Wagon" is a great song, I feel like I should have ranked it a little higher than I did. I was torn with where to rank the songs in the teens as I feel about the same about most of them and it really depends on the day which ones I prefer more.

And we still have a long ways to go on that one... lol Dear GOD please don't let me start losing all my top 10s now that I've been doing SO WELL. You should've remained silent is all I can say for 2 of the next 3 songs. :kii:

I absolutely despise "I Can Love You Better". Hated it when it first came out and that feeling did not change when relistening to it. The music annoys me, can't really explain it well but it is definitely my least favorite single they ever released. Only reason it wasn't my #35 was because of "Roly Poly" which just doesn't work for me at all. Sorry if you like it, I just don't

13. The Long Way AroundPoints: 493 Average Rank: 15 SD: 8.8575 Album: Taking The Long Way Release Date: August 29, 2006 Writer(s): Natalie Maines, Martie Maguire, Emily Robison, & Dan Wilson Producer(s): Rick Rubin Charts:N/A "The Long Way Around" (a.k.a. "Taking the Long Way Around") is a song written by Natalie Maines-Pasdar, Martie Maguire, Emily Robison, and Dan Wilson and recorded by the American all-female trio Dixie Chicks for their seventh studio album, Taking the Long Way (2006). The song was released as the third physical single from the album in late 2006. The song is the opening track of Taking the Long Way and provides the album its title, which derives from the chorus. The song, just like "Not Ready to Make Nice", also refers to the controversy Natalie Maines caused when she said that the band is ashamed that the United States President George W. Bush is from their home-state of Texas. The line "Well I fought with a stranger and I met myself" is a reference to the public feud Maines had with Bush. Many people think that the line speaks of Toby Keith, but the writing of that line was discussed in "Shut Up & Sing." Also the line, "It's been two long years now, since the top of the world came crashing down." refers to their public problems with the concert where their notorious statement was made during their "Top of the World Tour."

"I Can Slay You Better" missing the Top 10 tho noooooooooooo! :'( :'( :'( Definitely my favorite hit of theirs by faaaaar. It's an absolute fucking jam. The vocals on that song are some of my favorite of all time. I literally cannot listen to that song without hairbrush singing with a huge smile on my face. Kellie Pickler's "Red High Heels" has the same effect. And the title cut from their final album is also perfection. The lyrics are so good and I love everything about that chorus.

I'm predicting one of the last two songs to miss the Top 10 will be "Cold Day in July" but I can't even begin to imagine any of the other 11 missing the Top 10 because everything left is just STACKED. I'm sad about the last two eliminations, but looking at that list, I can't even imagine what would've went out instead, lol. They have such an amazingly solid catalog of hits.

One last song to go before the top 10. I can say that everybody who has a #1 will get to see them make the top 10!
And the 5 of us who still have bottom 5's will also see them make the top 10!

I'm almost shocked that Top Of The World didn't make the top 10 but it wasn't a big hit, was it? It was released post-incident after Travelin' Soldier? Was it the fourth or fifth single from Home? Griffin wrote and recorded "Top of the World" for her would-be 2000 album Silver Bell.[1] But a dispute with her label A&M Records caused the album to go unreleased and Griffin to be dropped,[1] although copies of Silver Bell circulated and increased Griffin's reputation as a songwriter within the music industry. It's interesting to note that Patty's Silver Bell album was also home to Truth #2, as well as One More Girl (which was covered by the Wreckers). So, an unreleased album with three songs covered by other artists isn't bad. Silver Bell was also officially released a few years back finally.

"Top Of The World" was completely ignored by radio and was their first single not to chart but I remember CMT playing the video a lot so it was well known I thought. And I love that artists continue to mine Patty's discography for songs, her material is so well written! 'Silver Bell' is such a great album too I'm glad it seen the light of day.
