And we’ve officially heard half the album. Target says 9/18 but Amazon and iTunes still say 12/31.

Yeah the part of me that cares enough feels bad for her. I know she put a lot of effort into this project so to have songs released randomly and no confirmed release date for the album breaks my heart. Then again the other part of me doesn’t feel a damn thing! She should have released this album back in March...

The more songs I heard the more I want this project to be scrapped. There's always something lacking in these new songs, and the album has no concept behind it.

Agreed, we've heard half the album and it's already her weakest. There's been one good song (and I'll be nice and say some good remixes), otherwise, she needs to take it back to the drawing board.

She’s going through that phrase where “fans” aren’t going to like anything she puts out because it doesn’t sound like her old stuff. I’ll advise you if you want to hear her sound like her old stuff, go listen to that. I don’t have to like everything she does; I can appreciate she’s not trying to give us the same “Fallin” from 20 years ago or another rehash of “If I Ain’t Got You.” I like she’s experimenting and looking for a Pop hit.
I think most of the songs have been pretty strong and they are different from one another. The song I don’t care for is “Perfect Way to Die” and that’s more vocally wise along with the production lacking too.
“Show Me Love” is one of the best duet to come out in a while. “Time Machine” is a whole groove of its own and in a perfect world, it would be a hit or at least a club hit for her.

I really like some of the tracks she put out, and Time Machine might be one of my favorite songs of the year. I have to say though, I see no point in releasing a song like Good Job as a "buzz single" when it will a) not actually create any buzz at all for the album b) give the impression that the album will be full of bland, boring songs.

I have a soft spot for “Good Job.” I just like the track. I do agree. It wasn’t intended to be on the album along with “Perfect...” but due to the pandemic. I’ll be fine without either.

The Jill Scott collaboration is called “Jill Scott.” Snoh Aalerga is featured on “You Save Me.”

I was gonna post this! I love her vibe and spirit. She is clearly is making music just because she enjoys the process. I also love that we agree on her best album!

I haven't checked out any of the new songs since Time Machine or Good Job, whichever was more recent But man was this a terrible album rollout
Anyways I just came here to say that Unthinkable has been on my mind since the morning and man that song has not aged at all Easily up there as one of her all time best songs

So 8 songs are already available that made it. That’s over half the album.

“Authors of Forever,” “Wasted Energy” and “3 Hours Drive” are vibe.
“3 Hours Drive” feels like Janet.

I love all of the remaining new tracks. How’s the Jill Scott song? It’s a vibe. It has me wishing she would do a whole album with sultry R&B.

“Authors of Forever,” “Wasted Energy” and “3 Hours Drive” are vibe. “3 Hours Drive” feels like Janet. Those three are terrific. Smooth, ambient, sultry goodness... 😋 Frankly, I'm a bit shocked I was digging some songs as much as I did. I figured this would be a very blah album, BUT, while I have no use for the latter half, the first half of it is kinda... awesome? I'm not sure if it was because I am -in general- in a zen state lately, but I was really loving this subdued electronic R&B vibe that's running through the first half of the album. I think I really liked all the tracks up and including "Show Me Love". Will need more listens but at least I can say I like it a lot more than the previous record, Here.
