I literally cannot stop myself from playing this album in its entirety mostly, but especially "Butterflies," "Happy & Sad," and "High Horse." It's like new Kelly/Lana levels of obsession over here.

I literally cannot stop myself from playing this album in its entirety mostly, but especially "Butterflies," "Happy & Sad," and "High Horse." It's like new Kelly/Lana levels of obsession over here. I think we must be kindred spirits because those are probably my top 3 tracks on the album. I know "High Horse" is #1 followed closely by "Happy & Sad", and then "Butterflies" and "Lonely Weekend" are right up there as well. But like you, I keep listening to this album from top to bottom. I even played it for my mom last night lol. |

Thanks to sales and streaming, "High Horse" debuted at #39 on Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart last night (it also debuted at #21 on the Country Digital Song Sales chart). "Butterflies" reached #32 on Hot Country Songs a couple weeks back and "Space Cowboy" hit #30, but they were the first two pre-release tracks so it makes sense that they'd have enough sales/streams to chart that high on HCS. With the album out now, it'll be interesting to see if any of the tracks do well enough in sales/streaming this week to chart on HCS next week. Perhaps "High Horse" could climb higher, and/or maybe we'll see "Butterflies" and/or "Space Cowboy" re-enter?

Finally got around to listening to this, I'm always tardy for the party. This is SO GOOD. "Slow Burn," "Lonely Weekend," "Oh, What A World" (seriously, this is the one for me), "Happy & Sad," "Velvet Elvis," "High Horse," and "Golden Hour" are my immediate favorites. "Rainbow" and "Love Is A Wild Thing" are the only two that aren't essential for me on the first couple of listens, but even they're solid. Everything on here is so lovely, so many subtle touches in the instrumentation and backing vocals that pop on repeated listens. I wish "Mother" was a full track though!

I really want to listen to this album some more, but I can't get to track #2 because "Slow Burn" stays on repeat. Find me a better song released this year (that's not on this album). I dare you.
I picked this up yesterday. I think this and Maren Morris are the only country albums I've bought in the past five years. I feel like I need another modern country queen to make a trifecta. Any recommendations?

I mean, Brett Eldredge, Dustin Lynch, Chris Young, Luke Combs, Lauren Alaina, Breatt Young, Darius Rucker, Billy Currington, Old Dominion, Kelsea Ballerini, Lanco, Russell Dickerson, Carly Pearce, Dylan Scott, Scotty McCreery, Rascal Flatts...

Kacey Musgraves san Roy Rogers for Elton John Tribute album: Also, with Ruston Kelly a song for a Johnny Cash tribute album: Finally a feature on The Drummies song "Drive Away": I think it's great she is giving us all of this, but after so long without music and given the spectacular album she just put out, these are most likely to become just footnotes.. |
