You will like my sense of style </3
Glad to see "Better Than Today" go but I'm surprised "Put Your Hands Up" didn't leave first, yikes. Takes me back to her concert where she closed the main set by performing one after the other. :shudder:

For the European and OZ/NZ release, Kylie sang on the track as a duet and appeared in the video. Another version without Kylie but with a rap from Travie McCoy was released for North American markets, except in the dance clubs. Finally, a solo version w/o rap also exists. The song is notable for being Kylie's last top 10 so far in the UK. Notable losses: Another #70, a top 3, and...the first #1!!! Host Opinion I enjoyed this at the time of release, but it has not aged well to me. Kylie gives a sexy vocal though and I like the energy. #51: SexercizeStatsPoints: 607 Average: 43.357 Std Dev: 19.361 Charts N/C History & TidbitsThis is part of the first tie of the rankdown. "Sexercize" ranked lower because the song at #50 has a top 10 ranking and some other higher ranks overall. A promo single from Kiss Me Once, this Sia-penned song didn't do too much to assist the era. Kylie and her team tried to make a viral meme of this song with sexercize.tv as well as a video with Kylie and dancers doing a sweaty exercise ball workout and groping each other. That didn't happen and eventually Kylie and her label moved on to "I Was Gonna Cancel." Host Opinion I utterly hated this on first listen when Kiss Me Once came out. With time, it grew on me however it pales in comparison with her work. I also thought she finally sold out with the explicit video that was more in Madonna's vein of an attempt at controversy to get a hit. #50: Right Here, Right NowGiorgio Moroder f/ Kylie MinogueStatsPoints: 607 Average: 43.357 Std Dev: 18.291 Charts US Dance #1 History & Tidbits Coming out on the top of the first tie, we have "Right Here, Right Now," Kylie's collaboration with legendary disco producer Giorgio Moroder. This song is the second single from Moroder's déjà-vu. Kylie was announced as a collaborator on the album in Fall 2014 and the song was released to digital and streaming outlets in January 2015. The song received a lukewarm reception in Europe but managed to be a sizeable dance hit in North America. The song also has an Escher-like video with Kylie and Moroder floating in a mostly black and white space with kaleidoscopic visuals. Notable losses: A top 10! and six others in the top half. Host Opinion I was a bit underwhelmed by this collab by otherwise legendary artists. I enjoy it, despite my low rank, but it doesn't do it for me the way the rest of Kylie's discography does. I ranked over half of Kylie's material from 2011 onward in the bottom 20 and I think she needs to come with stronger material for next album to have even a kernel of mainstream success. /soapbox Participant RankingsAlbie - 10 Juanca - 26 aerodynamite - 26 Juan Carlos - 29 Az Paynter - 30 Leo ✔ - 34 Illusions - 35 Chelsea Press 2 - 49 Glove Slap - 53 bat1990 - 60 Ginger Spice - 60 Willow Rinadoobee Breakfast - 63 @phillippe - 65 God - 67

It is the second single (and first in North America) from Kylie's sophomore effort Enjoy Yourself. Notable losses: Two top 20s and another in the top half. #48: Giving You UpStatsPoints: 590 Average: 42.143 Std Dev: 17.875 Charts Australia #8 United Kingdom #10 Ireland #15 History & Tidbits Kylie's final single before her breast cancer diagnosis, "Giving You Up" was the second new song on the compilation Ultimate Kylie. It was performed on The Showgirl Tour before taking her break for treatment and recovery. There's not much else notable around the song, except the video being a giantess Kylie clad in pleather wandering around NYC. Host Opinion GIANT KYLIE!!! I enjoy the sexiness of the song, but it doesn't really go anywhere. It's a fun listen but rather middling, though I am surprised there was no club release in North America after "I Believe In You." Also the B-side "Made of Glass" is a sublime little number. #47: All I SeeKylie Minogue f/ MIMSStatsPoints: 583 Average: 41.643 Std Dev: 15.950 Charts US Dance #3 Canada #87 History & Tidbits And the Parlophone releases continue to drop. "All I See" is a breeze midtempo from X that was released as the only official single from the album in North America. It samples "Outstanding" by The Gap Band. Capitol/Astralwerks decided to add rapper MIMS onto the radio version in the hopes of generating more support at Pop radio, but the song failed to crack the top 50. It did receive a cute black and white video which Kylie filmed in a day during a break from the KylieX2008 tour rehearsals. She also promoted it with a few TV appearances in North America. Notable losses: Another #70 and six in the top half Host Opinion The first time I heard this song, it sounded like a leftover from Janet's 20 Y.O.. However, once I played it a lot after purchasing X, I grew to love it's simplicity and Kylie's genuine heartfelt sentiment. It's a nice addition to her catalog and a contrast to the dance and electro for which she is known. #46: SkirtStatsPoints: 581 Average: 41.500 Std Dev: 18.421 Charts US Dance #1 History & Tidbits "Skirt" was a teaser single for Kiss Me Once that ultimately did not make the album. It was originally an instrumental called "Bake & Shake" by Nom de Strip to which Kylie lent her vocals after liking the track. A sexy lyric video was released featuring Kylie wandering through a room of shear curtains in a slinky dress. Surprisingly, the song was the most successful in the USA. Notable losses: Yet another #70, and half of the participants ranked this in the top half! Host Opinion This song is pure fun and sex. I have always enjoyed it and continue to do so until today. Also, she looked HOT in the lyric video. #AgelessQueen Participant RankingsJuan Carlos - 11 bat1990 - 22 Chelsea Press 2 - 28 Illusions - 29 Az Paynter - 31 Juanca - 31 Ginger Spice - 32 Leo ✔ - 41 aerodynamite - 44 God - 49 Albie - 62 Glove Slap - 64 @phillippe - 67 Willow Rinadoobee Breakfast - 70

#45: Word Is OutStatsPoints: 579 Average: 41.357 Std Dev: 13.200 Charts Australia #10 United Kingdom #16 Ireland #8 History & Tidbits "Word Is Out" is the lead single from Kylie's fourth album, and final with SAW, Let's Get To It. The song broke her streak of top 10s in the UK, possibly due to backlash from over-exposure and the sexifying of her image. In Australia, the Summer Breeze Mix was used as the main version and the song hit the top 10. In the video, Kylie dances through Camden Market putting down a Casanova in the town for double crossing her and several other women. Notable losses: Three rankings in the top half. Host Opinion The song is quite fun and has a lot of attitude. Kylie serves great vocals and aggressiveness throughout. My only disappointment is the video could've used more plot. It started with a promising introduction and then went nowhere. The Summer Breeze Mix is nice too. #44: What Kind of Fool (Heard All That Before)StatsPoints: 571 Average: 40.786 Std Dev: 16.734 Charts Australia #17 United Kingdom #14 Ireland #22 History & Tidbits This song was the lead single from Kylie's first Greatest Hits collection which fulfilled her contract with Stock Aitken Waterman's PWL label. For many years, it was not a favorite of Kylie's but she has come back around to embracing the song in recent days. The video is notable for Kylie's looks and the literal kiss off of her love interest at the end. Notable losses: Six in the top half Host Opinion Not one of my favorites. It's a bit generic and a weird sonic blend between her first two and last two albums with Stock Aitken Waterman. She looks great in the video though. #43: Hand On Your HeartStatsPoints: 566 Average: 40.429 Std Dev: 11.022 Charts Australia #4 New Zealand #15 United Kingdom #1 Ireland #1 Japan #88 History & Tidbits "Hand On Your Heart" is our fifth lowest standard deviation of the game and the second of the five lowest standard deviations to no make the Top 10 ("It's No Secret" is already gone). PWL canceled the European release in favor of this song in the Spring of 1989 and the subsequent release of the album that would become Enjoy Yourself. Notably, the song still hit #1 in the UK without cassette singles being counted on the chart at the time! The video shows Kylie wandering a colorful, modern house, defiantly implying that her lover doesn't really want to leave. Notable losses: Four in the top half, but none in the top 20. Host Opinion I love the sing-a-long nature of the chorus. However, Enjoy Yourself is my least favorite album of hers and this song, while nice, is rather generic. The Abbey Road Sessions version is everything though, much sadder and more vulnerable. The success of the single was marred by worldwide fan campaigns for "Your Disco Needs You," which led to that single being released in OZ/NZ and German speaking countries. In the video, Kylie slides down a firefighter pole to change clothes, goes on a night ride through the city, and eventually finds her friends and dances with them in an underground club. The song itself is notable for being one of the few Latin-inspired songs of Kylie's career. Notable losses: Two top 10s and two top 20s. Everyone else ranked it in the bottom half. Host Opinion I'm genuinely shocked this song is out so early. It is one of my personal favorites from Light Years and I'm sad to see it not even make the top half. Everything about it just works, IMO. The production, the harmonies, the understated vocals which build to the soaring ad-libs at the end, the guitar. It's such a fun ride through yearning and heartbreak with a hopeful thread in the middle of it all.
