LMAO sorry guys, my housemate came home earlier than expected and made me play Smash Bros with him... #embarrassing... So we'll finish this tomorrow now! Unless people are still up now, which I highly doubt.

The top 3's all great, I wouldn't mind seeing any of them winning (my #1 is also in here so preferably that would win, but I'd be happy with any of them winning tbh)

3. "Teenage Daughters" Track #8Runtime: 4:08Songwriters: Martina McBride, Brad Warren, Brett WarrenVocal Range: E3 - C5Total: 94 Average: 5.86 Std Dev: 3.83 d3vin44 - 1 BackwoodsBarbie - 1 someguy - 2 .indulgecountry - 3 kansasmeetsmo - 3 dub - 3 tim - 4 @adam1995 - 5 fearlessarrow - 5 Kanenrá:ke - 7 Cody Wants Out... - 7 born - 8 castleoblivion26 - 10 codyj100 - 11 cerulean - 11 bboat11 - 13 Leo ✔After a rough start (sorry), this song steadily climbed for the whole submission process! It never even came close to breaking through into the top 2, but it was pretty much a lock for the top 5 once things started evening out. It beat "One Night" by only 1 point to hold onto its highest placement at #3! Yeah, I know I am the lowest ranker for this... But keep in mind I like almost everything Martina has ever recorded. This song is wonderful! I enjoy it a lot. But I LOVE the ten songs that I ranked above this... I also do not think this was a very good lead single choice. It was too polarizing from the get-go, and a lot of people found Martina's rougher vocal delivery to be too shocking and abrasive. I wasn't on Pulse yet when this was released, but looking back at the thread for this is kinda rough So accordingly, I was not expecting this song to beat many of the album tracks from recent eliminations which seem to be well-regarded, such as "Summer of Love", "Broken Umbrella", "When You Love A Sinner", "You Can Get Your Lovin' Right Here", etc. However, based on conversations with other fans, seeing how people react online, seeing the crowd reaction to this song in concert, etc. this is a song that seems to have aged well for her fans, and grown on people over time. I underestimated just how strong that effect was, apparently!

I have always loved "Teenage Daughter's", but the fact that I was a teenage daughter at the time of the release probably helps. The "at 17" line gets me every time and I remember being excited the first time I heard it while driving to school senior of high school, because I thought it was cool that my age was listed in a song. Although that's not uncommon it did help the song stick out for. that reason. I guess I can't complain about the ranking since I did match the rank.

I will admit, I somehow managed to completely avoid this song until last week when I did this rankdown. I'm thinking it had something to do with the title. I just assumed it would be sappy and I totally wouldn't connect with it as I do not have children and I'm not female. Well damn was I surprised when I gave this one a listen. I absolutely LOVE IT, and I am upset that it wasn't a big hit for her! Sad to see it go but glad I assisted in getting this top 3!

awesome my Top 2 is the Top 2! Hopefully it plays out in the same order though I have a feeling it isn't going to but please surprise me! Honestly though I love both songs and will be happy either way!
I don't dislike "Teenage Daughters" one bit, like the song a fair bit but it just doesn't hold up to the other songs for me which is why it is as low as it was on my list. I also agree that it being the lead single was definitely not the smartest choice. "One Night" would have been a great first single I think but also "Broken Umbrella" or "Always Be This Way".
Anyways, excited to see what wins!

Now it’s forced smiles and baggy shirts To hide what the cancer took from her, And she just wants to feel like a woman again. She said, “I don’t think I can do this anymore.” He took her in his arms and said, “That’s what my love is for."2. Martina's biggest hit of the last decade had an incredibly rough start... After kansasmeetsmo and Kanenrá:ke submitted back-to-back and absolutely tanked the song at the beginning, I thought for sure it was toast. I was shocked and appalled, people! This song deserves SO much better than that! Fortunately, it rallied from there and rapidly climbed into the top 5, ultimately becoming the only song of this rankdown to put up a fight for #1 other than the actual #1 winner. This song was actually #1 until the very end, when cerulean pushed the real #1 back ahead of it! It was close though, as this one only led by 1 or 2 points the entire time, and now that the other one was pushed back ahead, it is only ahead by 3 points.
Anyway, haters say this song is too sappy. It is too similar to what she has released before. It is unrelatable. Whatever. It's all a bunch of bologna. This song went on to be a top 5 hit, and is without a doubt one of her most beloved songs. This is, in my opinion, the only song she has released since 2003 (other than "Anyway") that can stand on its own in a list of her all-time bests like "A Broken Wing" and "Wild Angels". Yes, she has released lots of amazing songs in the second half of her career, but this is BY FAR the biggest and the most popular.
Anyway, my mom has been fighting cancer since the summer of 2001, so this is an extremely personal song for me. I am so thankful this got recorded, and became such a huge hit. The world needs Martina. She can connect to a song like this in ways that no other vocalist can quite match...
That black dress though

Baby, you and me, We’re either on, we’re off, Or we’re through. So whatcha gonna do?
1. "Whatcha Gonna Do" Track #7Runtime: 3:57Songwriters: Rachel Thibodeau, Rebecca Lynn Howard, Jason Sever Vocal Range: E3 - E5
Total: 71 Average: 4.44 Std Dev: 3.60 bboat11 - 1 born - 1 kansasmeetsmo - 1 castleoblivion26 - 1 cerulean - 1 dub - 2 BackwoodsBarbie - 2 Cody Wants Out... - 3 Kanenrá:ke - 4 someguy - 6 tim - 6 d3vin44 - 6 fearlessarrow - 7 codyj100 - 8 .indulgecountry - 9 @adam1995 - 13 Leo ✔Before people get up in arms about this song beating "I'm Gonna Love You Through It" for #1, take a look at the trajectory for this song. That's right, this amazing song was literally almost #1 for the entire submission process... That never happens in rankdowns! And with 5 #1 votes, this is also the song with the most #1s. Anyway, this is a very deserving #1, imo. It is undoubtedly the biggest non-hit from this album. Long after "Marry Me" and "Teenage Daughters" dropped off Martina's concert setlist, this one remained, right alongside "I'm Gonna Love You Through It", because it is that much of a favorite for both Martina and her fans. You can still hear it sometimes in concert to this day! There were rumors this was going to be the next single from the album if a 4th had been released, but unfortunately that never came to fruition. With a full 2-octave belt range of E3 to E5, this is also the most complex song on Eleven, vocally. But Martina absolutely kills it. This song is quintessential Martina! I love the sassy edge to the delivery, like with the "Whatever" in the middle of the chorus. And how about the way she cracks her voice on "changes" in the 2nd verse?? So unique, but absolutely stunning, imo. To top it all off, the lyrics of this song so completely portray a failing love and the dichotomy that the lovers are feeling as they are falling apart. Everything about this song is perfect, imo, and that is why it is my favorite song on Eleven! I had to include multiple live videos of this one. Always such a breathtaking performance!

SO HAPPY!!!
I love both songs but am pleasantly surprised to see that my #1 had the most #1's and is the actual #1. This should have been a single. This proves to me that this is the biggest missed single from this album (okay maybe not) but seriously this song is incredible. Not surprising when you see that Rebecca Lynn Howard is one of the songwriters (if you don't know who she is, look her up!).

I may have ranked "I'm Gonna Love You Through" so low because it was said it really was the last true Martina from about 2003 that's memorable. I don't really dislike the song, I just wish that that last true hit would have been a song I would consider a favorite. So I'm a little bitter that IGLYTI was the last one instead since I would never consider it a favorite.
Also so glad "Whatcha Gonna Do" pulled away with the win, that really is one of my favorites not just of Eleven, but Martina's entire catalog.

I did not realize I ranked "Whatcha Gonna Do" that low :o It was definitely a top 5 contender for me. I'm glad to see "I'm Gonna Love You Through It" and "Teenage Daughters" which were the first Martina songs (with the first Martina song I listened to being the latter) that I listened to make it so far on the list. They were singles, but I wasn't really sure about how they would fare considering the quality of the album. Thanks for hosting bboat11 and I'm looking forward to the next Martina album rankdown!

I enjoyed this rankdown very much. Top 3 are perfect, Teenage Daughters had a good run and ended up right where I expected it. I'm Gonna Love You Through It is beautiful song and it has grown on me very much since general Martina McBride rankdown. The only problem I have with this song is that when I listen to music I just don't want to think about cancer. On the other hand I found it very imporatant that songs like this exist and give people opportunity to talk about cancer and makes us realize how fast cancer can turn our life around. Whatcha Gonna Do is one of the songs that went from Martina McBride rankdown playlist to my favourite songs playlist after the first rankdown. Great song, great vocal performance, great melody - just an amazing song overall. Thank you bboat11 for hosting. You did great job. I enjoyed reading your opinion on songs and other interesting facts very much. And that rendom statistic before the start of rankdown and vocal range addition were also very interesting. Also I can't wait to see which album is next in line.

"Whatcha Gonna Do" is a pretty song, but I definitely don't quite get the hype most of y'all seem to have for it, lol. Would've much rather seen IGLYTI win obviously as it was my #1, not that I dislike WGD by any means. The only true injustices of this RD were "Umbrella" and "Sinner" being lower than they deserved to be imo! Great RD, bboat11. Can't wait to do another McBride album!
