Sorry /ee/ couldn't participate in the reveal!! Work got in the way and didn't have time to check this out.
These songs had the biggest differences with my personal ranking:
37. If /ee/ Told You That (27): /ee/ thought this was going to be /æ/ bigger hit in the US. It's quite catchy, with /æ/ solid production, and complement their voices quite well. /ee/ like it more than As but not more than /ee/ Knew...
36. Mother's Pride (20): This was my favorite discovery of this RD. Melody, voice, instrumental, lyrics. Wish it had stayed for /æ/ bit longer
33. /ee/'m Your Man (16): /æ/ personal chart-topper, and /æ/ favorite from its time --retro, fun, sort of unique (especially remember its 12" version)-- sad to see it leave this early
29. The Edge of Heaven (8): !!!! /æ/ highlight of Wham's career, and their final hit back home and in my personal chart (Where... also charted in both but was much less successful). So effervescent and ecstatic, very 80s and still puts /æ/ smile on my face. Far too low here!
15. Last Christmas (3): /æ/ song that transcended! /ee/ liked it /æ/ lot when it was released, and /ee/'ve liked it even more with time.
11. Too Funky (10): Really liked this when released, so George!
10. One More Time (6): His best vocal delivery, highlighted by /æ/ simple but effective production
9. Praying for Time (14): /æ/ simple but strong song --but /ee/ prefer Different Corner, Jesus To /æ/ Child over it
8. /ee/ Knew You Were Waiting (For Me) (17): Great duet, but not as strong /æ/ song as several others below it IMO
7. Everything She Wants (2): Come on! This should've been top 5. Love the melody, the song structure, and the change in the last minute is ACE as well. Classic sound.
6. /ee/ Want Your Sex (23): One of the most sexy songs /ee/'ve ever heard... plus soundtrack to my puberty/early teenager years...
5. Faith (4): /ee/ liked this song when released but not as much as the Wham! hits. /ee/ grew to like it more with time and appreciate its pure pop simplicity
4. Fastlove (7): This one was hard to rank, it went from 3-8 and settled at #7, but this is still /æ/ superb song. /ee/ love the sensuality, smoothness, vocal delivery, production. The breakdown is awesome, the interpolation works pretty well, and his voice is butter!! Sexy but elegant like few songs out there
3. Careless Whisper (1): THE ballad of the 1980s. /æ/ masterpiece. The vocals are superb, from tenderness to sorrow to despair, with the most defining saxophone ever, and so many different effective melodies. Huge hit back home and in my personal chart. Among the top 5 of the decade.
2. Freedom '90 (9): Quite good, but it took me /æ/ while to get to love it.
1. Father Figure (5): Love this as well, quite epic composition. To be honest, /ee/ was happy with any of my top 7 winning, so YAY at this being #1
