Waiting for AIWFCIY to hit Top 10 is kind of like the way the Daytime Emmys milked Susan Lucci 'will she win this year' for years to drive ratings. After she won, ratings spiraled... Those MC-holiday related threads will go awfully quiet unless some bizarre (or bad) event happens to sends it to #1, which is pretty unlikely.

Side track but that moment on TV when Susan Lucci won her Emmy was so captivating.

I think the only format truly affected is AC. I think Adult R&B would be the next format most affected. Top 40 and Country will throw in some holiday tunes, but they certainly aren't overtaken by holiday music. It seems like Urban and rock radio (in its various forms) are certainly the least affected, though I don't have stats to back that perception.

I have Spotify but don't look at playlist, but I assumed from the charts with Brenda Lee, Burl Ives, etc. charting, that's what's happening. I wonder how much of these seasonal plays come from 'free' v. 'paid' tiers. Since Apple is only paid, it would be interesting if the 'apples to apples' data was available for comparison. Perhaps, that may be somewhat easier to tell when Billboard implements the new chart rules.

Kworb can't track the song's airplay because of its Gold designation. Right now it would have 31.77mil AI.

It doesn't usually get near the top 20 until the week of Christmas. Not enough formats play holiday music a lot.

Eminem and Ed Sheeran's River is the official radio single from Revival, its currently #2 on iTunes and I expect lots of streaming incoming. Maybe a high debut, and it could sustain if it picks up lots of radio and keeps doing well on other metrics. I see pop eating this song up.

At this rate Ed Sheeran is coming for 2 more Top 10's with End Game and River, he's really killing it right now.

Well of course. All the predator allegations get "proven false" by their respective fanbases. /s

I can't find a single article on the idea that the charges against Mariah Carey were falsified and exaggerated at all. I'm sure I'd be able to find a forum post or something proclaiming that it was false.

It sure is interesting how little is written about it, given that she's accused of basically the same thing Louis CK was accused of. (Albeit, with an employee rather than just a peer. And there's only one accuser instead of five.)

Carey's actually pretty lucky considering all of these no-name old white male Hollywood execs are getting their names plastered across the news sphere, despite people not knowing them before. But I'm not sure how much of it is a gender thing. Young popular artists like Kodak Black aren't getting much media attention either. Neither is Usher (although Usher's situation is 8 times more ridiculous than any of the others I've seen so far).

Nice. So you defend the sexual predator by saying that there are sexual predators out their worse than her. Classy move. 

Thanks for confirming that some people on this site don't actually care at all about sexual abuse, and only want to use it as a tool to bash artists that they already dislike. But yeah, I totally have a "bad look" because I don't like the same Ke$ha song that a lot of people on here like.
