Donna and Nikki are at tonight's show. Rumor has it they are supposed to perform with her. I suspect they will be in the Vogue segment...but not singing.

idk at what point it gets confirmed or even rumoured but what are the odds this concert is made available afterward on bluray/dvd/streaming? She's had every one of her tours released on video hasn't she?

Attended last night. DIVINE. That about sums up the experience. There's only one. So many highlights. So many moments of nostalgia and emotion. Not performing whole songs in spots doesn't deter from the experience. We saw Niki and Donna when they arrived at their front-of-catwalk seats. Was nice seeing them attend. Also saw the not-so-dynamic duo of Cooper and Cohen when they walked in. Also Amy Schumer, I believe. I figured when she started talking abutter nurse, that "I Will Survive" sent EY to bed for the evening. 😋 When she talked about her illness from last summer, that put things into perspective yet again- let's not take her for granted. Why I was even happier to be in her presence yet again and watch her do what she does best. Now I look forward to watching videos. Devil- Madame X has not been released on home video, only on Paramount+. Blond Ambition was released ob VHS in Japan, laserdisc in the USA. Re-Invention has not been released on home video, though it was professionally shot (Lisbon) and is available to watch online.

I was going to DM you the other day because I realized you had not been yet, as you would have mentioned it. Then I thought "No, he wouldn't NOT go." Happy to hear you got to experience it. Can you imagine how over the top it would have been for the audience if Niki / Donna were the judges during Vogue?

^Thanks, and Indeed. I don't think she's had two judges join her, so we should have known at the least both of them wouldn't be up there. Joining her for a performance (especially "Rain") would have been nice, though understandable why it didn't happen. Maybe had she done EY, as it would have been easy for them to join her for that one.

I watched the Netflix documentary on the making of We are the World. They made mention that there was a slight argument at the record label of choosing between Cyndi Lauper and Madonna for an invite, and Cyndi got it. Not sure why it had to be one or the other, they could have had both. I mean, they had Dan Akyroyd and Latoya Jackson in the chorus for pete's sake.
But Madonna got some satisfaction I suppose. She released Crazy for You at the same time as We Are the World. Crazy for You was stuck behind We Are the World at #2 for its 4 week reign at #1. Then Crazy for You knocked We are the World out of the #1 spot.

Acts with the most Number 1 albums on the Official UK Chart Who's scored the most Number 1 albums in the UK? www.officialcharts.com/chart-news/acts-with-the-most-number-1-albums-on-the-official-uk-chart__15643/Madonna (12) The female solo star with the most albums to hit the top, and in joint third place overall, is Madonna. She first hit the top in 1985, when sophomore album Like A Virgin finally reached Number 1 in its 44th week on the chart, and most recently found herself there in 2012, with MDNA, her 12th chart-topper (if you include the Evita soundtrack, which we do). Madonna's scored 30 weeks at Number 1, and was recently overtaken by Adele as female artist with most weeks at the top. Her longest run was 1990's hits retrospective The Immaculate Collection, one of the biggest selling albums of all time, which notched up nine straight weeks. Madonna's full Official Chart history

Random question....what do you think is the future for Madonna in releasing new music? Do you think she is going to continue doing one off single releases...guest spots...or do you think she has a full fledged studio album in her future? We are entering year 5 since the release of Madame X, which is her longest window of not releasing a new album. I know she is focused on the tour, but just wondering what she will do next.

At this point, I can see her becoming like Janet Jackson (who hasn't released an album since 2015) and it will become later and later till we get another album - if we do at all.

I wonder what will happen with the Max Martin collaboration. It's been so long already. Wasn't it last May?? I thought it was going to be used for promotion of the tour. Maybe they decided to keep it for a new album.

An album will be a nuissance for a legacy act like Madonna so i don't think she'll bother with those anymore.

I honestly don't care about new music tbh. I really want her to focus on the re-issue campaign and celebrating her discography.

They could have done something with her first album and they did not. Then again, not sure what they could have done with it. I have heard some of the early demos she made around that time and they are not good. Not sure she would want folks to hear them. The anniversary passed this summer. The next one coming up is the Like a Virgin album in 11/24.

Maybe because of this past summer serious illness, she may be inspired to write and record an album in the realm of her Ray of Light.

www.officialcharts.com/chart-news/madonna-celebrates-landmark-64th-uk-top-10-single-and-first-in-15-years/Madonna celebrates landmark 64th UK Top 10 single, and first in 15 yearsBy George Griffiths | 02 February 2024 Madonna still makes UK chart history, four decades into the game. Long live the Queen! Today, Madonna returns to the UK Top 10 after 15 long years, securing a record-extending 64th (!) UK Top 10 single in the process. Popular by The Weeknd, featuring both Madonna and Playboi Carti, completes a long and winding road to the Official Singles Chart Top 10 today, jumping up four places to Number 10. The track - originally included in the soundtrack for The Weeknd's divisive HBO dramedy The Idol - has proved to the definition of a slowburn; spending a total of 12 weeks inside the wider UK Top 40 before finally breaking into the upper echelons of the chart. It becomes the Weeknd's 16th Top 10 single, and the first for rapper Playboi Carti. Proving that she is still the undisputed Queen of Pop now more than four decades into her world-straddling career, Popular returns Madonna to the Top 10 for the first time in 15 years, and becomes her record-extending 64th UK Top 10 hit. With this, Madonna extends her own record as the female artist with the most UK Top 10s in Official Singles Chart history (or should that be herstory?). Madonna was last present inside the Top 10 in 2009, when Celebration peaked at Number 3. Her first career Top 10 was Holiday, which reached Number 6 in 1984 (a re-release of the track the following year would go on to reach Number 2, with both releases counted separately). This also means that there is a gap of 40 years in between Madonna's first UK Top 10, and her latest. This is eerily prescient, as the superstar is currently travelling the globe on her Celebration Tour, her first-ever greatest hits show to take in tracks from across her life in music. The only artists with more Top 10s to their name are Elvis Presley (who is still the person with the most UK Top 10s ever) with 76 and Cliff Richard, with 68. Madonna comes in third with 64, while she's trailed by Drake (45) and the late Michael Jackson (44).

9 years ago Madonna was rightfully complaining about ageism in the UK after the BBC refused to playlist “Living For Love”.
I wonder if she really cares that she’s back in the Top 10 with “Popular”.
Streaming has turned all singles charts into one big mess so it doesn't feel quite as relevant as it used to be.

As expected, Billboard did not let "Popular" re-enter the Hot 100. it re-enters Streaming Songs, for a third total week (position lower than its initial No. 29 peak).
"Popular" reaches new peaks on both the Global 200 and Global 200 Exc USA- No. 13 on both charts.

Looks like there will be no new dates in Latin America, Australia, or Asia. I had seen chatter thst there would be another leg to be announced, but what was announced today was one last and final date in Miami.
