This song was robbed. Their best Power ballad era song. "Rag Doll" would have been in my top 20. Pretty much my ranking was the one that kept this epic classic Ballad the mix.

If it wee not for George Michael, Rick Astley would be my favorite male pop vocalist ever. Those deep vocals were the best. SAW High Energy music was also the best.

Kim needs no introduction. Since been in the music scene since forever til today. I charted "You Came" twice. Once in 1988 and another time in 2006 with the revamped version from her album 'Never Say Never". Both times the song peaked at #7 on my chart. Both versions are stellar. Hot babe alert x2 up next.

The Multi Talented Lead singer of Missing Persons went solo and signed up with Price's record label 'Paisley Park Records'. Prince even wrote some of the songs on "Riot In English'. "Simon Simon' was the first single. You could hear the Prince vibe in all the songs on the record. Hot Babe alert #2.

 

63. Transvision Vamp - Tell That Girl To Shut Up (Billboard HOT 100 #87) (DOC #11)
Were a very popular Powerpop band from the U.K. Their only charting U.S. single was also the only one I knew of at the time. It reminded me of the Go Go's  and Jose Cotton's style. Perfect for my 80's cravings. Hot babe alert #3


62. Go West - Don't Look Down (The Sequel) (Billboard HOT 100 #39) (DOC #7)
I like this Go West song so much I brought it back in 1988 with its new re release title "don't Look Down- The Sequel". This also became the only time Go West charted a top 40 hit on the HOT 100. 


61. Mike Mareen - Don't Talk To The Snake (Hi- Energy) 
Mike Mareen's German Hi- Energy style was all over dance scene. "Love Spy" was his biggest hit, but these hits were still being played in the clubs in the 90's. I remember this having a video years ago, but I can't find it on youtube. This maxi's are the type of 8:00 minute songs I sit through all day.

This band scored their best year in 1989 on my charts with "A Little Respect" "Stop" and "Knocking At Your Door" from Crackers International, but in 1988 they scored their second top 10 smash with "Chains Of Love".



52. Stacey Q - I Love You (Hi-Energy) (Billboard U.S. Dance #49) (DOC #5)
After charting 3 Top 10 hits from Miss Stacey Q, it was only natural that I charted her one last time. This was the first single off 'Hard Machine". Also written by J. St. James, it was the closest thing to "Two Of Hearts" part II. Cute babe alert #3.

IDWGOWYLT is my least favorite Elton John hit of the 80s. Not sure about ever, but it'd be down there. It's not bad, but not one of his best. The singles from Sleeping With The Past were much better.

The H&O track also isn't on par with their big run for me.

PYL & TF are the big recent losses for me, both still hold up for what they are, especially the former. Taylor Dayne was always better with her uptempo tracks, and this might be her best single.

Originally recorded in 1973 for the album Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, this live version was recorded in Sydney, Australia and was released on the album Live in Australia with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra in 1987. This version peaked at No. 6 in the US and was nominated for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance at the 1988 Grammy Awards.

Of course, Elton re-recorded the song in 1997 as a tribute to Princess Diana who died in Paris in August of that year. That version spent 14 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and became the best selling single of all time.

Come Go With Me, Point Of No Return, and Let Me Be The One are one of the strongest 1-2-3 single runs ever. That a group like this did them makes it even more astounding. In those three songs, every mood of forward momentum is captured across every possible spectrum. Personal, business, romantic, sexual, dictatorial, etc. I wouldn't be surprised if they were the only three songs Sheryl Sandberg listened to in the late 80s, and are what Melania Trump turns to in the more embarrassing press days as she focuses on the pile of gold awaiting her in the future, and regains appreciation for her luck and the horrors she's escaped across the ocean to be where she is.

This song is what is played when you're asleep (not going to sleep, already asleep) to recharge to grab everything the other three represent the next day, and it's a reflection of all the worst parts of the world that it is what hit the top.
