Ugh, I love "Broken" so much!! The melody is overly simplistic, so I can definitely understand if people find it boring. I felt that way at first too. But then it sunk its claws into me, and I haven't been able to get enough ever since! Shame it couldn't escape the bottom 10, although I'm not really surprised since it is one of the lesser-known songs in this RD, as well as being too recent to have any sort of nostalgia built up in its favor.

That leaves us with our top 30!
I will have to stop here for now - I'll try to post some more album tracks later tonight. If not tonight though, then I'll get back at it tomorrow.

Dang, "Trying To Love You" is so gorgeous I was hoping it would be able to sneak into the top 25 at least. Horrible single choice though, I have no idea what they were thinking with that one.
"PrizeFighter" is great, I don't get the hate it receives but that's fine I'll jam out to it on my own!
"Better Your Heart Than Mine" is one I always wished I liked more but it falls lower on the list for me because I feel it was missing something.
"Broken" was nice, just boring.
"Like We Never Had A Broken Heart" and "In Another's Eyes" are just blah. I love Trisha and she get's a lot of flack for having "boring" songs but these ones don't help matters. Plus they're just so overwrought but I think that's Garth's involvement really. Their other duet "Where You Road Leads" falls into the same trap. "Squeeze Me In" is one of the few that works better but it's still too Garthy.

#29 and #30 are tied in points, but a top 5 ranking for #29 makes the difference here. Also, #30 and #25 are separated by just 14 points!

#30 – “Down On My Knees”Billboard Country Airplay peak: #19 Highest Ranking: #17 .indulgecountryLowest Ranking : #34 castleoblivion26Total Points: 398 Average Rank: 24.875 .indulgecountry – 17 Kanenrá:ke – 19 Troublemaker – 20 sbp17 – 20 BackwoodsBarbie – 20 bboat11 – 23 DistrictTwelve – 24 austin – 24 toomuchboy – 25 Cody Wants Out... – 25 sabre14 – 27 fearlessarrow – 32 LBTrocks – 32 someguy – 33 Tim – 33 castleoblivion26 – 34 Following: dub“Down On My Knees”, the fourth and final single from Hearts In Armor was very middle of the road here in terms of rankings. Its highest ranking was only #17, but its lowest was only #34, which allowed it to scrape the bottom of the top 30. This one always felt like a bigger hit to me than its #19 peak would suggest. I think that’s probably because it was included on her 1997 hits album Songbook: A Collection Of Hits while some bigger hits, namely “I Wanna Go Too Far” and “That’s What I Like About You”, were left off. This is a nice song, but I think that the write up in Songbook describes it well – it’s a similar theme to “How Do I Live”, but it lacks the confidence that Trisha had grown into 5 years later with when she recorded it, which makes it not as strong of a song, in my opinion at least.

I knew this one wouldn't last too long because it wasn't one of her bigger hits during her prime years, but I loved her vocal on this.

#29 – “That’s What I Like About You”Billboard Country Airplay peak: #8 Highest Ranking: #5 sabre14Lowest Ranking : #39 DistrictTwelve Total Points: 398 Average Rank: 24.875 sabre14 – 5 LBTrocks – 7 fearlessarrow – 9 Tim – 16 austin – 17 castleoblivion26 – 17 someguy – 24 Kanenrá:ke – 29 sbp17 – 29 toomuchboy – 29 bboat11 – 33 Cody Wants Out... – 34 Troublemaker – 36 BackwoodsBarbie – 37 .indulgecountry – 37 DistrictTwelve – 39 Following: dub“That’s What I Like About You”, the third single of Trisha’s career, was her third consecutive top 10 hit, making it to #8. It’s held up better than some of her earlier singles in terms of familiarity and, to me, feels like a bigger hit than its peak suggests. It was very polarizing here, receiving three top 10 rankings, as well as six bottom 10 rankings. Unfortunately for it, it started off as a potential top 20 candidate, but received a few low rankings in a row that it never really recovered from. In fact, it was actually well out of the top 30 until the final list came in, which pushed it up to #29.

I absolutely love it though, and think if it had come out 10 years earlier, it would have been a #1 for her. It started out strongly here, even spending a little time in the top 10. Unfortunately, it started dropping as lists started coming in, and fell all the way back to #28. Clue explanation: The opening lyric of the song He had me spinning like a girl in the circus in a trapeze act

#27 – “You’re Where I Belong”Billboard Country Airplay peak: #71 Billboard Dance Club Songs peak: #15 Highest Ranking: #3 sbp17Lowest Ranking : #39 someguyTotal Points: 389 Average Rank: 24.3125 sbp17 – 3 bboat11 – 10 DistrictTwelve – 11 castleoblivion26 – 16 sabre14 – 17 Cody Wants Out... – 19 Troublemaker – 26 LBTrocks – 26 BackwoodsBarbie – 26 toomuchboy – 28 austin – 29 Tim – 32 Kanenrá:ke – 35 fearlessarrow – 36 .indulgecountry – 36 someguy – 39 Following: dubReleased as a single from the Stuart Little soundtrack, “You’re Where I Belong” continued the trend of Trisha recording and releasing Diane Warren songs as singles in the late 1990s (“How Do I Live”, “I’ll Still Love You More”, “You’re Where I Belong”). It is by far the least successful of the three, though. The song was never sent out as a country radio single, but was released to AC radio, and a remix was serviced to the dance market, where it reached #15. This started out as a candidate for the bottom 5, but eventually settled in at #27.

I'm so glad that "You're Where I Belong" managed to have a bit of legs to it, as I figured it would be a sure bet for the bottom 5! You know, being a soundtrack single and all. I only discovered this song a couple years ago. I was randomly supervising a special ed student while he watched Stuart Little, and when the end credits came on I was like "OMG Is this Trisha???!?!?!!" Lo and behold, it was! This is such a great song, but I may have overhanded it due to the excitement of it being a recently discovered song for me... Lol Edit: Also, the clue for #26 isn't showing up for me.

Released when she was the reigning CMA Female Vocalist of the Year, it reached #6 in the spring of 1999. This never felt like a huge hit, despite its peak. It was up and down the charts pretty quickly, but ended up being the second biggest hit from the album, after “There Goes My Baby”. This started out as a possible contender for last place in the rankdown, but halfway through the submission process, started climbing up, eventually settling in at #26. In hindsight, I probably ranked this one too low.

I love "You're Where I Belong" a lot and am glad it made it as far as it did because I also thought it would be gone early on.
"Powerful Thing" is a good song but not a favorite compared to a lot of the songs on this list so I'm good with it going out here.

This album is notable in that it was Trisha’s first not to produce a top 10 country airplay single, and it is to date her only studio album to produce only one top 40 airplay hit. This was always middle of the pack during the submission process of the rankdown, and so it seems fitting that it exits here at #25, as we begin to approach the top 20. Clue explanation: The song was written by Bobbie Cryner, who released two albums in the mid 1990s, the most successful of which being Girl Of Your Dreams, which produced the #56 “You’d Think He’d Know Me Better”, which went on to be a single for Lorrie Morgan a few years later.

I'll stop here for tonight. I'll try to get to the top 20 tomorrow, and then probably nothing further until the weekend as the rest of this week is pretty crazy. I'll post a few more album tracks tonight though.
