Tried to believe that leaving him was some how justified. But tonight there's no denying what a love like his is worth. He once looked at me the way he's looking at her. What a lucky girl.35. "I Know How He Feels"
Album: Reba Year: 1988Total: 567Average: 37.80Std Dev: 24.16BlueShades874 - 7sbp17 - 7tim - 10BackwoodsBarbie - 17@adam1995 - 25someguy - 29toomuchboy - 31George Strait Junkie - 36Kanenrá:ke - 43Cody Wants Out... - 44bboat11 - 48Sean - 52.indulgecountry - 53dub - 73castleoblivion26 - 92zaclord 🌈Fresh off the loss of the '80s classic "How Blue", we say goodbye to another '80s classic! "I Know How He Feels" is one of her biggest hits from the '80s, and accordingly it is the highest placing song on its album. My favorite part of this song is honestly the way it builds. It is almost a ballad for the first half of the song, but then for the second chorus a softly driving drum beat kicks in and it almost makes the song feel like it has a ton of energy.
BlueShades874 and sbp17 both lose a #7 here, whereas castleoblivion26 finally loses his #92. Almost everybody else put this in their top half, or very close to it! {Songs Remaining} And Still Because Of You Can’t Even Get The Blues Consider Me Gone Does He Love You Fallin’ Out Of Love Fancy For My Broken Heart How Was I To Know I’d Rather Ride Around With You I’ll Be I’m A Survivor If You See Him, If You See Her Is There Life Out There It’s Your Call Little Rock One Honest Heart One Promise Too Late Ring On Her Finger, Time On Her Hands Rumor Has It She Thinks His Name Was John Somebody Take It Back The Fear Of Being Alone The Greatest Man I Never Knew The Heart Is A Lonely Hunter The Heart Won’t Lie The Night The Lights Went Out In Georgia Till You Love Me Walk On What Do You Say Whoever’s In New England Why Haven’t I Heard From You You Lie

I toss and turn, but then I fall asleep. I'm going under, but it's not too deep. You want to hurt me, but it's just no use. I can't even get the blues.
34. "Can't Even Get The Blues"

Sadly, this time we say goodbye to Reba's very first #1 hit... The song that really put her on the map. This is a huge fan favorite, and despite only being in two peoples' top 10, it was put almost in the top half by everybody! My rank, while being the lowest, is barely in the bottom 40, and everybody else put it in the 50s or better! Unfortunately the overall lack of passion at the top end helped sink this song in the mid-30s.{Songs Remaining} And Still Because Of You Consider Me Gone Does He Love You Fallin’ Out Of Love Fancy For My Broken Heart How Was I To Know I’d Rather Ride Around With You I’ll Be I’m A Survivor If You See Him, If You See Her Is There Life Out There It’s Your Call Little Rock One Honest Heart One Promise Too Late Ring On Her Finger, Time On Her Hands Rumor Has It She Thinks His Name Was John Somebody Take It Back The Fear Of Being Alone The Greatest Man I Never Knew The Heart Is A Lonely Hunter The Heart Won’t Lie The Night The Lights Went Out In Georgia Till You Love Me Walk On What Do You Say Whoever’s In New England Why Haven’t I Heard From You You Lie

Out of the 5 songs in our next set, only ONE of them was not a #1 hit for Reba!! And it is one that honestly should have been... Find out what they are momentarily! Of course, here is my thinly veiled attempt at a hint! One... Honest...
Times are tough on an honest heart. People don't follow through with what they start. Lyin' eyes looking at me up and down.
33. "One Honest Heart"
Album: If You See Him Year: 1999Total: 557Average: 37.13Std Dev: 18.20George Strait Junkie - 6toomuchboy - 18bboat11 - 19sbp17 - 24BlueShades874 - 27Kanenrá:ke - 31Cody Wants Out... - 38Sean - 40.indulgecountry - 41BackwoodsBarbie - 41@adam1995 - 43someguy - 44castleoblivion26 - 44tim - 59dub - 82zaclord 🌈 Our one song of the day that was not a #1 hit is the #7 peaking "One Honest Heart", which was the 4th single off of If You See Him. I love this song, but it is not one of her most remembered songs, so I am thrilled to see it do so well here! Rankings-wise, this song did incredibly well here. It was placed in the top half (in fact, almost in the top 40!) by literally everybody except for 2 people. dub 's bottom 20 rank for this is a huge outlier!
I think the musical arrangement for this is very cool (I seriously love the guitar that plays in the background at the semi-stripped-down start of the 3rd chorus), and the way Reba sings this is just full of conviction. Plus the way she sings "down" at the beginning is pretty much one of the more epic verse moments of her career

I guess I'll keep on livin' Even if this love's to die for, 'Cause your bags are packed and I ain't cryin'. You're walking out and I'm not trying To change your mind.
32. "I'm A Survivor"
Album: Greatest Hits Volume III: I'm A Survivor Year: 2001Total: 555Average: 37.00Std Dev: 26.12BlueShades874 - 6dub - 6Sean - 9toomuchboy - 12tim - 19Cody Wants Out... - 22someguy - 28castleoblivion26 - 39George Strait Junkie - 43bboat11 - 46@adam1995 - 47.indulgecountry - 55Kanenrá:ke - 59sbp17 - 66BackwoodsBarbie - 98zaclord 🌈 Approaching the top 30, we say goodbye to one of Reba's most iconic songs. As the theme song for her sitcom, there are probably hundreds of thousands of people out there somewhere who know this song even if they are not familiar with Reba's music. I will admit that this one has burned on me a bit through the years, so I am not disappointed to see it miss the top 30, but I am definitely still glad that it managed to come so close! And speaking of significant outliers in that last reveal...BackwoodsBarbie 's rank is 32 positions lower than the next lowest rank. She finally loses her #98 here Lol what about this song is THAT bad??!?!{Songs Remaining} And Still Because Of You Consider Me Gone Does He Love You Fallin’ Out Of Love Fancy For My Broken Heart How Was I To Know I’d Rather Ride Around With You I’ll Be If You See Him, If You See Her Is There Life Out There It’s Your Call Little Rock One Promise Too Late Ring On Her Finger, Time On Her Hands Rumor Has It She Thinks His Name Was John Somebody Take It Back The Fear Of Being Alone The Greatest Man I Never Knew The Heart Is A Lonely Hunter The Heart Won’t Lie The Night The Lights Went Out In Georgia Till You Love Me Walk On What Do You Say Whoever’s In New England Why Haven’t I Heard From You You Lie

Myself Without You* 15. Sweet Music Man*
* = Previously unreleased
Album Tracks: Myself Without You
There were three new songs on this album, two of which were released as singles. This one, regrettably, was not. I think that is a real shame, because this song is generally well regarded among fans, and I think would have made an awesome hit. It is talked about more highly than "Sweet Music Man" for sure, so although I love SMM, I would have probably preferred to see this one get a release. I think it would have been a bigger hit for her. Maybe even another #1!

The albums are dropping like flies at this point! However, our final reveal before the top 30 will see us losing a song from an album that we haven't seen yet.

I can't take another minute,I can't stand another night, Of wondering if I even matter. It's something only you can answer. Here's the phone, it's your call.
31. "It's Your Call"
Album: It's Your Call Year: 1993Total: 550Average: 36.67Std Dev: 23.84sbp17 - 3.indulgecountry - 5Kanenrá:ke - 13toomuchboy - 17@adam1995 - 23BackwoodsBarbie - 27castleoblivion26 - 28tim - 30someguy - 31Sean - 46Cody Wants Out... - 55dub - 60bboat11 - 69BlueShades874 - 70George Strait Junkie - 73zaclord 🌈The time has come for us to finally say goodbye to one of Reba's early '90s #1s! This song is awesome because of its lyrical wordplay in the hook. The whole scenario of the wife intercepting a phone call with her husband's mistress, and telling him it's his call, is almost comedically punny, but backed by Reba's emotionally nuanced performance it becomes extra powerful. That being said, this has never hit me as hard as Reba's well-regarded songs usually do, because the melody is not very exciting to me, and it has always felt a little underwritten. They could have made the pun so much more dramatic! The lyric I highlighted above is perfect, but there aren't really any other pointed lines like that throughout the rest of the song. However, I will say, the electric guitar and steel guitar soloing together is an epic moment!
Both sbp17 and .indulgecountry lose a top 5 here, making this one of the most painful reveals of the rankdown! {Songs Remaining} And Still Because Of You Consider Me Gone Does He Love You Fallin’ Out Of Love Fancy For My Broken Heart How Was I To Know I’d Rather Ride Around With You I’ll Be If You See Him, If You See Her Is There Life Out There Little Rock One Promise Too Late Ring On Her Finger, Time On Her Hands Rumor Has It She Thinks His Name Was John Somebody Take It Back The Fear Of Being Alone The Greatest Man I Never Knew The Heart Is A Lonely Hunter The Heart Won’t Lie The Night The Lights Went Out In Georgia Till You Love Me Walk On What Do You Say Whoever’s In New England Why Haven’t I Heard From You You Lie

WTAF @ "It's Your Call" being out this low? How can people justify not putting this in their Top 10 50 at least? Yikes. Everything about this song is epic. What a shame. Smh.

The biggest surprise to me is probably "Walk On" still being in, I didn't think that one would have this much support.

Respect
That's right, Reba's got a hot Aretha Franklin cover!!!!!!!!!! And this is really good! I knew she had a cover of this on her Live album, but I had no idea there was a studio version until somebody submitted it for this album. That somebody was me! This used to be a staple song that Reba performed live and at my first Reba concert in 1995 this was the first song she sang. I believe she pretty much opened up most of her shows in the mid '90s with this classic but I'm not sure if it's something she's continued performing since then. And here is a clip of "Respect" live at my first Reba concert...much more to come about this concert taping as the reveals happen

If this is how you act when you give your heart awayWell, take it back.
30. "Take It Back"
Album: It's Your Call Year: 1992Total: 544Average: 36.27Std Dev: 23.37sbp17 - 6castleoblivion26 - 7dub - 12.indulgecountry - 18@adam1995 - 21someguy - 21toomuchboy - 35Sean - 35Cody Wants Out... - 35BlueShades874 - 45George Strait Junkie - 46tim - 52BackwoodsBarbie - 53Kanenrá:ke - 71bboat11 - 87zaclord 🌈 Kicking off the top 30, we say goodbye to a song that I have never really understood the appeal of... "Take It Back" is a sassy uptempo, allowing Reba to show off her fun jaded side. However, I have always found the melody to be fairly annoying. And she growls WAY too much in this song... Lol. However, it has grown on me through the years, I just don't consider it to be one of Reba's best. Still, despite my thoughts, two people like this enough to put it in their top 10, and almost everybody else put it in their top half! My vote seems to be the outlier this time, for sure.
It's also the second song from It's Your Call leaving in a row! One good thing about this song I will say is, this is by far one of her best music videos! Just SO hilarious and well done! Queen! {Songs Remaining} And Still Because Of You Consider Me Gone Does He Love You Fallin’ Out Of Love Fancy For My Broken Heart How Was I To Know I’d Rather Ride Around With You I’ll Be If You See Him, If You See Her Is There Life Out There Little Rock One Promise Too Late Ring On Her Finger, Time On Her Hands Rumor Has It She Thinks His Name Was John Somebody The Fear Of Being Alone The Greatest Man I Never Knew The Heart Is A Lonely Hunter The Heart Won’t Lie The Night The Lights Went Out In Georgia Till You Love Me Walk On What Do You Say Whoever’s In New England Why Haven’t I Heard From You You Lie

'Cause he's the one who left me too many times alone. In a three bedroom prison, I tried to make a home. My love slowly died, but the fire inside still burned, And the arms of a stranger was the only place left to turn.
29. "Ring On Her Finger, Time On Her Hands"

She sounds so good on this song, and you can feel every ounce of her anguish at the way her relationship is turning out. I'm so sad it only barely made the top 30! Definitely the best single off of the Starting Over album.{Songs Remaining} And Still Because Of You Consider Me Gone Does He Love You Fallin’ Out Of Love Fancy For My Broken Heart How Was I To Know I’d Rather Ride Around With You I’ll Be If You See Him, If You See Her Is There Life Out There Little Rock One Promise Too Late Rumor Has It She Thinks His Name Was John Somebody The Fear Of Being Alone The Greatest Man I Never Knew The Heart Is A Lonely Hunter The Heart Won’t Lie The Night The Lights Went Out In Georgia Till You Love Me Walk On What Do You Say Whoever’s In New England Why Haven’t I Heard From You You Lie

I probably underranked "One Honest Heart" by quite a bit, BUT "I'm A Survivor" is iconic and is eliminated now while stuff like "Because of You" is still in? the shade of it all
watch Because of You win

dub Don't worry I don't think there's any way in hell "Because Of You" wins against her classics.
I've also never cared for "Take It Back" as much as her other big hits. The music video slays though! "Ring On Her Finger, Time On Her Hands" is one of my favorite of Reba's vocal performances, I feel like she nailed the emotions of it.

This song was submitted by several people, and is pretty widely regarded to be one of her best album tracks. I think this one would have even had potential to win an album track rankdown had I asked y'all to rank your album tracks! Just an amazing song, every way you look at it Talking In Your Sleep Five Hundred Miles Away From Home You're No Good

Don't just stand there in the storm. Walk toward the light till you find the sun, And you'll be better off in the long run. Walk on.
28. "Walk On"
Album: Sweet Sixteen Year: 1990Total: 520Average: 34.67Std Dev: 15.32BlueShades874 - 8tim - 17Sean - 21someguy - 24@adam1995 - 27George Strait Junkie - 29toomuchboy - 30BackwoodsBarbie - 33Cody Wants Out... - 33.indulgecountry - 35sbp17 - 46dub - 48castleoblivion26 - 49bboat11 - 55Kanenrá:ke - 65zaclord 🌈With this we say goodbye to Reba's first single from the '90s! The 4th and final single from her 1989 album Sweet Sixteen, it managed to bleed over into the new decade. It definitely fits right in with her '80s #1s though in terms of how dated it sounds "You Lie", which came after this, was a HUGE step towards the modern Reba that we know and love. This song managed to get very little hate, with everybody except me and Kanenrá:ke putting it in our bottom half! (And we both put it close)
It definitely feels like a good song for this to leave. It made it into the company of many of her most iconic hits, so I am very comfortable saying goodbye now even though I love this one too :) {Songs Remaining} And Still Because Of You Consider Me Gone Does He Love You Fallin’ Out Of Love Fancy For My Broken Heart How Was I To Know I’d Rather Ride Around With You I’ll Be If You See Him, If You See Her Is There Life Out There Little Rock One Promise Too Late Rumor Has It She Thinks His Name Was John Somebody The Fear Of Being Alone The Greatest Man I Never Knew The Heart Is A Lonely Hunter The Heart Won’t Lie The Night The Lights Went Out In Georgia Till You Love Me What Do You Say Whoever’s In New England Why Haven’t I Heard From You You Lie

Everything about Ring On Her Finger, Time On Her Hands is perfect. When I first heard it I had it on repeat for days and it's still my most played song according to last fm. Reba sounds amazing and the emotions in her voice really lifts this song on the whole new level. It's way better than the original version - Reba sings from female's perspective and that makes this song a million times better. I also like how instrumentation changes in chorus - the orchestra like sound makes this song sound so epic. Lyrics are great as well - my favourite part is: Lord, please forgive me even though I lied 'Cause you're the only one who knows just how hard I tried' I love this two verses, they are just so beautiful.
I'm not too disappointed that it was eliminated already because I know that it's not one of her most known/iconic songs.
I really like the whole Starting Over album. Beside Ring On Her Finger, Time On Her Hands my favourites are Please Come to Boston and Five Hundred Miles Away From Home.
Overall I'm happy with the way this rankdown is going so far :)

Alright, I'd like to get us to the top 20 today! So many epic songs are going to be falling out before we get to that point, and we will be saying goodbye to four albums!

With this elimination, Reba's incredible Rumor Has It album finally takes its first loss. This was the fourth and final single from the album in 1991, and it ended up peaking at #2 for her. So close to the top! I wish it had been able to make it all the way for her. This song is one of my favorites, as you can tell from my #4 rank :'( The lyrics to this are so amazing, and Reba absolutely nails the vocal. She attacks those E5s in the second half of the song with gusto, making this one of her highest vocals, and it gives me chills every time! Plus a subtle lyrical nuance that you might have missed is that the song starts in present tense (He says he loves her) and then at the end of the song it has shifted to past tense (He said he loved her). Such an interesting detail that adds so much subtle meaning to the song
In addition to my #4 loss, @adam1995 also loses another top 5. castleoblivion26 and George Strait Junkie were two very significant outliers on the bottom end, however, and this song could potentially have been a top 20 contender if it weren't for them.

I am once again the highest ranker for the next song... But the lowest rank is only a 56! So this one didn't really have anybody who hated it, it just simply didn't have enough passion to let it get all the way into the top 20.

This is one of Kelly Clarkson's very best songs, and imo Reba's version is every bit as strong! I love literally everything about this one, including how well Reba's voice translates to a more modern sounding song. I also think the fact that it is a duet adds a whole new level of lyrical depth to the song. Reba is singing from the perspective of a friend who is watching her friend get abused, while Kelly is singing to the lover who abuses her. I literally just had that epiphany a minute ago when I was revisiting the music video, and now I have chills because the song just got a whole lot deeper

Hey y'all, as we get closer to the end of the rankdown, and the albums are getting more popular, I don't have time to write comments on every single album track unless I want to spend like 45 minutes on each album... Lol. So I would like to encourage you to share what your thoughts are on your favorite album tracks when they get revealed, if you see any that you know you submitted :) I know I'd enjoy reading about why you submitted some of the songs you did.

I love "Sleeping with the Telephone"! Faith and Reba sound so good together. The Duets album was great overall, except for that pesky Justin Timberlake song haha. "Please Come to Boston" is one of my favorite songs, too, no matter who is singing it. Reba's is definitely one of the best versions of that one.
