She was great in the movie and she def has the chops. The storyline is so predictable though. Maybe because it’s a remake? Yeah I guess you're right.

This soundtrack is going to be huge, especially if this movie is as big as expected. It'll play well through the holiday and awards seasons too.
Ended up seeing it last night. I wasn't nearly as enamored with the film as most people seem to be, but it was solid. More importantly, Lady Gaga was great in it. It was a bold move jumping into this role and she delivered, she should definitely be proud right now.

hahah hysterical. I noticed when I saw her on Colbert she had said that and I knew she had said it in at least one other interview. Girl got her script and is sticking to it. It is also the theme of the movie, so maybe that is why she keeps repeating it. But at this point it is coming across very phony.

I'm sure she's done 99 interviews and 1 didn't have that line

Box Office: ‘Venom,’ ‘A Star Is Born’ Both Head for Big Opening Weekends Warner Bros. has boosted its projection for “A Star Is Born,” directed by Bradley Cooper, to the $35 million range after launching with a solid $4.6 million in preview and sneak showings. But the early numbers indicate the fourth iteration of “A Star Is Born” is heading for a slightly higher opening weekend gross. www.yahoo.com/entertainment/box-office-venom-star-born-195245282.html

Box Office Mojo Update:
Sony's release of Venom topped the charts on Friday with a massive $32.75 million and is looking to easily top the previous October opening weekend record. At this time the studio is projecting a three-day performance around $70.5 million while rival studios anticipate as much as $80+ million for the weekend. Warner Bros.'s A Star is Born delivered a healthy $15.8 million on Friday, heading toward what is looking like a $42+ million debut. On top of the strong reviews for the film from critics, opening day audiences loved it as well giving the film an "A" CinemaScore. -------- With a $42m opening weekend, great reviews, and strong word of mouth, I think it will clear at least $130m total domestically, and if it gets awards attention, $200m+ is in play. The R rating is the only thing working against it in terms of how far it can go - but "It" cleared $300m last year with an R rating, so who knows.

Not to be all Disco about it, but there is this one blind-item site that spent basically all of 2018 and I think most of 2017 writing thinly veiled items insisting that this movie was an unmitigated disaster behind the scenes, that the studio was already writing it off as a failure and cutting their losses, and that Gaga was about to permanently ruin her career b/c her performance was so embarrassing. Every time a little bit of good press would trickle out, it would double down on the bulls**t. Now I'm cackling at all the crow that site has to eat. At this rate there will be enough leftovers to make Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner. Confused. Did Bradley help her get the role or something? Maybe I’m crazy but wasn’t Beyonce attached to this at one point? Couldn’t imagine the film without Gaga This remake has been 16 years in the making and gone through many would-be directors, writers, and leading stars. (Side bar, Alicia Keys' then-manager turning down a chance to have his client star opposite Will Smith because "her first movie shouldn’t be a movie where she’s basically playing herself. I don’t think that’s real acting" is so mind-blowingly stupid I don't really know what to say.) Beyonce and Bradley were confirmed as the leads when Clint Eastwood was going to be the director, but the movie got delayed by Bey's first pregnancy and then she eventually pulled out altogether. Bradley took over as director a few years later and approached Bey again, but she still declined. That was in March 2016; the Sean Parker event where Bradley saw Gaga was in April 2016. Bradley must have been really won over by Gaga's presence to immediately rush to her house and talk to her about it. I don't think he even looked at anyone else after that.

Just switching gears here. After watching "A Star Is Born" last night and listening all the songs in the movie, it makes me wonder if last year standalone release of "The Cure" was supposed to be in the movie too but got cut somehow. I can see the lyrical ideas of "Heal Me" and "The Cure" is a bit similar as the idea of getting cure/heal is there in both songs.

Accordnig the Bradley, Beyonce was never attached to his version. Beyonce was only attached to Clint Eastwood. Actually, that makes sense. It's probably more accurate to say the studio (not Bradley himself) approached Beyonce again. Supposedly, they couldn't afford her. The way Bradley immediately attached to Gaga, but confirmation of her being in the film coming only several months after that, affirms Gaga's '99 people in the room' spiel to me. Bradley must have put up a real fight for her.

(This particular site actually used to be decent, but it got taken over by fakes and trolls. 2011ish was that murky period where there was still some real stuff mixed in with the bullshit.)

16 years in the making? Try 25 at least. The powers that be wanted Whitney to follow up the Bodyguard with this movie. She wanted to do other things, but there was a point in the late 90s when she would be the fallen star like Bradley’s character and Will Smith would be gaga’s Character.

They are probably from the same sessions but yea The Cure is 100% written for/about Sonja.
"Rub your feet, your hands, your legs Let me take care of it, babe Close your eyes I'll sing your favorite song I wrote you this lullaby Hush now baby, don't you cry Anything you want could not be wrong"
Heal Me might have been the second outcome during those days.

'Venom' Delivers October Opening Weekend Record While 'Star is Born' Shines Box Office MojoIt was a record weekend at the box office for Sony's release of Venom, which delivered a massive $80 million, topping the previous October opening weekend record by more than $20 million. Additionally, Warner Bros.'s A Star is Born more than carried its own weight with a stellar debut of its own, topping $40 million for its opening weekend and helping this become the largest October weekend of all-time. In second place is Warner Bros.'s release of A Star is Born, which delivered a hefty $41.25 million debut from 3,686 locations. Once you add the $1.35 million in grosses from early Tuesday and Wednesday sneak peeks, the film's current domestic cume stands at $42.6 million. The film's opening performance contributes to a massive overall weekend, and serves as the tenth largest October opening weekend of all-time. The film's audience was 66% female and of the overall audience 86% were 25 years of age or older. Where the film goes from here is really anyone's guess, but a lengthy run deep into awards season is certainly in the offing, fueled by strong critical reviews and audience word of mouth — the film received an "A" CinemaScore — to go along with that stellar opening. Internationally, A Star is Born delivered $14 million from 31 markets including a $5.3 million launch in the UK along with a $2.1 million second place opening in France and a $1.9 million debut in Germany. Several markets have yet to open including South Korea (Oct 9), Italy (Oct 11), Brazil (Oct 11), Mexico (Oct 12), Australia (Oct 18) and Japan (Dec 21). ------- $42.6m est total Domestic $56.6m est total Worldwide

Saw the film twice yesterday. Its so beautifully done. Loved it even more the second time. 'Always Remember Us This Way' is the standout song for me, but I think they should push 'Shallow' for the Oscar. 'I'll Never Love Again' was great and a little reminiscent of 'I Have Nothing' but it really didn't stay with me the way a lot of the other songs did.

I pretty much slept through the second half (her pop phase til the end) so I am debating on seeing this in the theater again, but since I planned on buying it on Blu-Ray anyway, I should probably just wait til its released. They would be smart to get this out quickly for sales and streams but I'm sure it will stay in the theater for quite some time. The soundtrack is really great.
