I finally saw the film last night. Agreed that she knocks it out of the park (so does Bradley). What stood out the most to me was A) the music especially the more rock driven numbers and B) the directing which Cooper smashed. As this is a music film and has been made plenty of times before, it's hard to avoid the obvious cliches that come along with the territory and some of them are here (I actually think the parking lot scene they put online a few weeks ago is one of the cheesiest). Besides that, there are some genuinely funny, touching moments. Shallow HAS to get Best Original Song. I'll Never Love Again could take that title but it was a bit maudlin for me. The pop numbers didn't do anything for me. You can tell she recorded "The Cure" while working on them. But all in all, I'm so proud of her. And the soundtrack is KILLER.

Legit one of my favs from her. I hope she allows herself more of this softness in the future. Softness?! The oooh-ooohs, yes. Better than the screaming wail that she does in many of her songs.

Echoing everyone saying she deserves awards recognition, and especially for song. Truly, this is the Lady Gaga album I didn't know I needed.

The 100 Best Acting Performances by Musicians in Movies by Billboard Staff October 04, 2018, 11:22am EDT www.billboard.com/articles/news/list/8477854/musician-movie-performances-top-1004. Lady Gaga, A Star Is Born (2018) It might not seem like much of a stretch for Lady Gaga's big screen breakout to come as an aspiring pop star. It would be a mistake, however, to assume that Gaga is playing a Hollywood-ified version of herself in A Star Is Born. While there are certainly parallels between the "Just Dance" singer and her alter ego Ally, this isn't the story of Lady Gaga's rise. It's the story of an insecure woman plucked for stardom by a weary alcoholic who just wants to take another look at her. Stefani Germanotta willed herself into being Lady Gaga, until Lady Gaga became the superstar we know and love. Her Ally, however, is resigned to her unremarkable life, until the unexpected happens. But from the second Gaga takes the stage with Edith Piaf eyebrows to belt out "La Vie En Rose," she electrifies those in the theaters as much as she enchants Bradley Cooper's Jackson Maine character. That's no surprise, of course: We've seen Gaga light up much bigger stages for a decade already. However, Gaga's acting artistry -- which will stun even her diehard Little Monsters -- is what really shines through in Star, particularly as a drunk Jackson tells Ally she's ugly and the pain of her worst insecurity flashes across her face. Gaga brings to life Ally's quiet determination to find herself as an artist in a world obsessed with sexy pop stars who sing frothy but ultimately forgettable tunes -- a struggle that Gaga herself is intimately familiar with -- while battling her fierce devotion to her struggling husband. Together, Cooper and Gaga make a beautiful, exhilarating, and heartbreaking but never altogether bad romance. And when Gaga takes her final bow, introducing herself as Mrs. Ally Maine, her star as a bona fide actress is born.

"Always Remember Us This Way" is my favorite ballad on the soundtrack. "Is That Alright," "Shallow," and "I'll Never Love Again" are cute as well.
"Heal Me" was the best uptempo; a nice breezy pop bop.

I actually had a lump in my throat by the end. I adored it, and she is really, really f**king great. Let alone her work in the role, but to have the ability to make the audience forget they’re watching Lady Gaga by the end of the film is a talent all in itself.

I’m actually looking forward to listening to this. I think I’ll try to catch a screening of the movie as well.

I was never really much of a Lady Gaga fan. Although I thought she had some fun and catchy songs, I just found her whole persona such an eye-rolling turn off. However, I have to admit, I am really enjoying what I have heard and seen from "A Star is Born" and I am really looking forward to seeing it. I am equally intrigued by Bradley Cooper and his performance. He is such a revelation. I had read that he played guitar a bit before this, but he has surprised me.
Here is a clip I watched this morning about how they pulled together the music. It is good to see Gaga talking about the work and the process without these huge egotistical comments about her "art" and how it is the most amazing thing in the world. She seems very down to earth and part of the whole process, as opposed to "look at me! I am amazing!" Very refreshing. This carried through on her appearance on Stephen Colbert last night. Weird Gaga was gone and she was way more approachable and conversational.

Loving the soundtrack and can't wait to check out the movie this weekend, hopefully!
Really like "Shallow," "I'll Never Love Again," "Heal Me," "Look What I Found" and "Before I Cry." The verses of "Why Did You Do That" remind me of "Bills, Bills, Bills" by Destiny's Child.
She sounds amazing on this and I'm pleasantly surprised by Bradley Cooper. Yas daddy.

Usually not into soundtracks, especially ones that have dialogue in them but I will buy this.

She'll soon have THREE SONGS IN TOP TEN ON ITUNES! What a time to be a Little Monster!
Also expecting a top 20 debut for Shallow in the UK. Would be her highest charting song since Do What U Want (#9, 2013).

Lol I cannot believe how much good press she is getting and how well-reviewed this movie is. To be honest, its not something I am usually interested in, but the old stan in me is happy to see her majorly winning again I hope it is hugely successful and THEN we get an amazing new album next year.

Debuts at #13 in the UK and bound to climb into top ten next week. For comparison, Perfect Illusion reached #12 and The Cure #19.
Very thrilled to see first predictions by HDD for the soundtrack!

There are some total jams and gems on this soundtrack. Some of these songs are definitely worthy of holding me over until LG6.

Confused. Did Bradley help her get the role or something? Maybe I’m crazy but wasn’t Beyonce attached to this at one point? Couldn’t imagine the film without Gaga

She was great in the movie and she def has the chops. The storyline is so predictable though.
