Apparently preorder for the soundtrack starts in 2 weeks and there are 19 tracks? Looking for confirmation and actual details.
The source is some guy on GagaDaily who says the soundtrack is scheduled for October 5 and there are no plans to release a single before the soundtrack.

One thing I am sorta surprised about is that she has not released some sort of Greatest Hits package at this point. She has been releasing music for exactly 10 years and has enough of a hit catalog that she could do that. Though, given this day and age of singles being the big seller and album sales down, I guess I understanding why she has not, but in the natural arc of a career, it would be the right time for it.

GH collections are kind of pointless now that you can build your own streaming GH based on your preferences, or compile your own GH collection from iTunes. It also signals "legacy act" - and I don't think she's ready for that just yet. |

Which would suck as apparently the soundtrack does have some pop songs on it, along with some ballads and the supposed "i will always love you" of the decade or whatever. |

While I do think Jennifer’s And I am Telling you performance probably what got her the Oscar, her performance throughout was quite strong for someone who has never been in a feature film. And one that garnered Oscar attention once it was announced. Or maybe I should say award shows. She took that role and did the damn thing. She sold me as Effie. I don’t see Gaga getting an acting win at the Oscars though. I know acting was her love, but I think being a 3rd remake, it might skew voters. I haven’t heard anything bad thus far about the film though. I do anticipate her winning the Golden Globe since it will be in musical:comedy. I hope she gets an Oscar nom, but I think there’s odds against her for a win. I will say though, I would love to see her win an Oscar for acting bc I think she is one of the most entertaining people who crosses platforms and does it well. Who would’ve ever though a rising pop star would record a Jazz album with Tony Bennett? Whitney and Mariah fans(myself included) have wanted this for years, but she did it. And it was successful. Good for her. I think she’s extremely smart. I think she’ll be successful for a long time. I don’t know if it will ever equal her first 2 albums, but this soundtrack could change things. If it doesn’t, shes still gonna be around for a long time. |

She is very smart and she also loves music for what it is, music and performance. She's never tired of finding something new and she has a great, creative team of people of her own age surrounding her (Haus).

I'm hoping she brings out her softer vocals and does a bunch of layering with this record. I feel as though that's when she is at her best.
