"New song from the album is "intense and ominous—an old-school Gaga banger, unsettling but also buoyant."
This sounds perfect

Loads of info: LG7 coming in February 2025 There is a "secret project" in addition to the album Gaga and Michael have been engaged since April Michael encouraged Gaga to record new POP album after Chromatica Ball Tour New song from the album is "intense and ominous—an old-school Gaga banger, unsettling but also buoyant." www.vogue.com/article/lady-gaga-october-2024-cover-interviewI read cliffs on the interview and I must say I’m so thrilled to hear she’s at the place she’s at in her life. Emotionally/mentally I mean. She comes across as content and genuinely peaceful, happy with Michael and most importantly healthy. I’m so glad to hear that. Fingers crossed the new music doesn’t suck!

It seems like making Chromatica to address her past traumas head on and then getting to slow down and rest during COVID helped her get to a much better place.

JOKER: FOLIE À DEUX FIRST REVIEWS: JOAQUIN PHOENIX SHINES AGAIN IN 'DERANGED, EXCITING, AND DEEPLY UNSETTLING' SEQUEL CRITICS SAY TODD PHILLIPS' FOLLOW-UP BENEFITS FROM ANOTHER PHENOMENAL PERFORMANCE FROM ITS LEAD AND A STRONG SUPPORTING TURN FROM LADY GAGA, BUT IT MAY POTENTIALLY PROVE JUST AS DIVISIVE AS ITS PREDECESSOR. editorial.rottentomatoes.com/article/joker-folie-a-deux-first-reviews-joaquin-phoenix-shines-again-in-deranged-exciting-and-deeply-unsettling-sequel/Lady Gaga is equally good as Harleen, sparking palpably insane chemistry with Phoenix.
— Matthew Turner, NME By far the riskiest role the famous artist has taken on, she is extraordinary and lights up the screen with her deranged presence just as much as Phoenix did in the first film.
— Ema Sasic, Next Best Picture Gaga is a compelling live-wire presence, splitting the difference between affinity and obsession.
— David Rooney, Hollywood Reporter Gaga shines in the sequel’s musical sequences.
— Ben Rolph, Discussing Film Gaga’s musical performance was incredible.
— Catalina Combs, Black Girl Nerds Gaga doesn’t quite reach the mania that Harley Quinn ought to have but still packs a wallop where it counts.
— Kyle Anderson, Nerdist Gaga never gets a chance to do what she did in A Star Is Born: seize the audience with her rapture.

Knew she would hold it for next year once we got through summer with no lead single. Smart move, the focus should be on Joker for now. And hooray at her fiance for steering her towards a pop album. We need one more huge mainstream pop Gaga era before she hits 40.

February will be Joker's video release (barring a bomb at the box office) and the Grammy's.

She has written something for Joker soundtrack, but still unsure if its actually a song or an orchestral piece ala Chromatica I, II, III.
ETA: Cut that, she confirmed she wrote a waltz for the film in the Vogue interview.

Wow! Already top 20 on Radio Songs. If streaming can hold on for a few more weeks for Pop Radio to catch up, this has the makings of a long-lasting hit.

Wow, I just saw a post on Instagram about her new LG7 single, then saw the post was from a WEEK AGO, how did I not know this earlier?!! I've been a huge fan of hers since the beginning of her career, so of course I'm not against it doing well, but I'm lowering my expectations. I really think since DWAS has turned out to be a big hit, why not make that into the first single? Much less likely to strike gold twice, and I don't see any major logistical reasons why it can't act as a single from both the Joker soundtrack and LG7. If it ends up on neither, I swear that will be so stupid.

Two possible scenarios: A) they didn't expect DWAS to do much - they might still make it a bonus track. B) DWAS doesn't fit the sound of the rest of the project and would serve as a bad lead single.
We need way more info before we can judge what they've done so far.

Yeah, if she knew the lead was bookmarked for October, there’s almost no way they likely expected DWAS to be so big. I’m sure they would have tried to plan more spacing between in that case. Hope this can work to her advantage and not disadvantage. There’s always the risk of Flowers situations with these sorts of huge smashes where nothing else from the artist can really succeed until they die down.

I think the album will be nothing like DWAS sonically. She has said that she has been making a big pop album and DWAS is more Joanne-like.
But it's not the first and the last time a big hit is a non album single, and it's not even the first standalone hit for Gaga (The Cure did well back in 2017).

Do you guys get the feeling that FAD’s polarizing reviews are also setting in motion Gaga gradually moving away from it? Like I know I dont live under a rock, but it feels like there’s absolutely no hype for this? Even HOG had massive hype from both music fans and cinema goers likewise.

Hmm I don't know - Gaga fans will obviously go and see it regardless but they are mostly hyping DWAS and LG7 lead now.
As far as the "regular cinema goers" go, no idea.
But it's already a victory lap for her - critics have liked her performance as Lee - she is not even the lead here unlike in HOG so it's all good. Of course I hope that the movie will smash but if it doesn't it won't really affect her status in any way (except the awards are not as likely then).

I wonder the reviews have any impact on her Oscar nomination chances. All three things together (DWAS + FAD + LG7), we need a version of the spiderman meme with Gaga.

No way she gets an Oscar nom with these reviews and the impending drop in box office numbers from the first movie. She’ll just have to take her licks and move on to the next project.

Yeah I doubt any nominations are coming for her this season lol. I just hope the movie doesn't bomb too badly and I am happy to see a lot of reviews mentioning her as one of the best parts of the film. Like, she personally isn't being trashed.

First week estimations were drastically lowered to 68M from the first ones 90M. I think the writings on the wall, and I agree with you Love Plastic Love that I hope her acting gets praised.

First Joker was very strong internationally, as was House of Gucci, so I think even though the domestic opening is lower than expected, it can do very well globally.
Joker: DOMESTIC (31,1%) $335,477,657 INTERNATIONAL (68,9%) $743,480,625 WORLDWIDE $1,078,958,629
House of Gucci: DOMESTIC (35,1%) $53,809,574 INTERNATIONAL (64,9%) $99,459,587 WORLDWIDE $153,269,161

Oh they are gunning for #1 the week of Joker 2 release I see with that October 5th shipping date. I'm tempted because this song is so amazing and is unlikely to be on LG7.

I ordered the CD already. It should arrive next week maybe. If the 7" comes to the Canadian store, I might get that. We'll see.
