I have always loved "Love That Man" so I'm sad it's out - I expected it a little later.

Good 3 reveals for me :) I didn't know about My Heart Is Calling at all. Didn't impress me and felt too generic R&B to me. Love That Man was also a first-listen, and I did like its funky vibe. That #42 started a region of songs I liked a bit. SIC belonged to the songs that I feel are just too meh. Felt that way back in the day, and I like it even less now...
Oh Yes... mmm, I feel it's a lesser version of Un-Break My Heart, with worse vocals and less catchy chorus, so I'm glad it wasn't a single :) One Wish was ok. An acceptable song, but it was just quite sad to hear Whitney's voice at that time ...

Hint for 44
Host Opinion A fun teeny bopper number, but not one that deserves a place among her timeless material.
Whitney Spotlight "It'll Be Okay" This collab w/ Ray J is one of two songs released between One Wish and I Look to You.

Oh God. That "song" with Ray J....yuck. Also kinda upset at "Love That Man". I accidentally ranked it too low. Issa bop!

Love That Man is nice, just not up there with the songs I love. I'm guessing Someone For Me is next...

Host Opinion Not bad, but not quite what it needed to be to become a smash hit.
Whitney Spotlight Hold Up the Light & Celebrate New Life
In 1988, Whitney collaborated with her friends BeBe and CeCe Winans on their album Heaven. Whitney's roots are in Gospel music and this was one of many forays into the genre throughout her career.

"Hold Up The Light" goes hard! I wish they'd done a one off album in 1989!

Did this finally start?
I'm surprised "My Heart is Calling" is so low. It's at least pleasant.
What do people think "Oh Yes" should have been a single instead of?
Steve's "Higher Love" is a classic, and I'm surprised Whitney covered it so quickly (maybe partly why it was left off the album?). I do like her version.

This is probably the best I have EVER done in rankings lol. This song is trash. The numbers don't lie. Some of y'all have some very interesting taste in Whitney songs. Whatever tho, I know I will be crying when one of my faves Miracle exits soon.

LEAKAGE!!!!!
Host Opinion The club mix of this is epic, while the original is alright but nothing special.
Whitney Spotlight "I Bow Out"
A laid back groove juxtaposed with an aggressive message. Part of the flawless My Love is Your Love

It's been a very interesting rankdown for me. The 2 songs gone that I like, "Something In Common" and "Love That Man" aren't even all time favorites of mine and ALL of the dreck is going away quickly. "It Isn't, Wasn't, and Aint Never Gonna Be" indeed. I can't stand it.
"I Bow Out" is my JAM!!! I played that song on loop for DAYS when I got the MLIYL album. THIIIIIISSSS TIME! THIS TIME I MADE UP MY MIND! I like to imagine she was singing that when she put Bobby's ass out.
As for guessing #42, if it's "It's Not Right But It's Okay" or "Queen Of The Night" I riot. Seriously. (But it's probably "Step By Step" or "Whatchulookinat" I know y'all probably don't use the latter). ::sigh::

I didn't think the Aretha duet was that bad. This is the first time I have ever heard it and I enjoyed it well enough.

I BOW OUT. Love. Second favorite non-single on the album. I think it was rumored to be a double-A side single with "I Learned From The Best" where "I Bow Out" would get sent to certain formats. I even remember rumors that this would be get the video treatment and be on MTV Making The Video. Those rumors could've been completely false, but I know I was salty at the time that it ended up being ILFTB.
Regarding next up, it better not be Step By Step.

I remember ALL of those rumors and was very upset when they didn't pan out. Hex Hector was even supposed to have done a remix package. I also think if IBO was sent to radio and was double A side with ILFTB, it would've charted higher than #27 (or was it #28?)

LOLOL, you'll see the "I Learned From the Best" chart stats when we get to that single.
I am fairly busy at work today, so #42 will come when I get home.
