This is one that I've always wanted to like more than anything else. Of course, I still like it quite a bit, hence it being in my top five.

Down from eight #1s to five just like that. At #7 we find our 8th Highest SD which has the most top tens (6) since End Credits. Three bottom tens as well, with one being particularly low. This song bounced around a bit before launching itself into the top ten after the final two lists.

Here's a great song that I'm surprised made it this far. This always felt like a "last-hurrah" type of song, a song about reminiscing the good ol' days, which I tend to do a lot. Never fails to get me hype just from the openine line.

Gonna take an intermission to walk my dog but we leave off at #6 with another #1 loss. Who will experience heartbreak at our 7th Highest SD? Five other top tens fall along with two bottom tens, one of them being very low.

Moreso than any other song on this list, this one hits personally. I always get taken back to a lonely late 2015 drive from Pittsburgh to Wilmington. Driving through the mountains of Pennsylvania will always be a treat, as this song is just an absolute emotional journey that I constantly crave.

So yeah, this one hurts. I might even call this one of my favorite songs of all time at this point. Such a beautiful arrangement, there couldn't be anything else at the top of my list. My condolences, Me.

Given the length of the song, I thought the SD for this could be even higher. Glad that a bunch of you liked this about on the same level that I did.

Short intermission! We are at the point where every reveal is a #1 loss so be on your toes cause you might be next. #5 also happens to be our 4th Highest SD. Four top tens and two bottom tens fall, with another very low bottom ten to match the #1 rank.

And here is the other song that vied for my #1 spot. This was a late 2016 discovery for me and caused me to fall in love with this band, which is amazing considering this is technically a B-side. The bassline carries this song for me and the dark vibe of the song giving way to a bright, peaceful bridge is what really brings out the atmosphere. Glad it got this far.

At #4 we continue our #1 loss streak with our 12th Lowest SD, a fairly agreeable song. We find the most top tens of a song in the RD so far with 7 and only a measly pair of bottom tens to bring this down.

This was another mid-2016 song that was just a great jam, a song that can always hype me up and elevated by strong and emotional vocals. I put this in a tournament once and it found its way onto another member's personal rankdown.

This song impacted me in late 2015 and at the time I hadn't heard of Best Coast before. Turns out they're really good and the sunny feel-good vibe of this song really works. This song is just an absolute smile.

American Idiot might not be smiling though. My condolences.

For the record, it's 3 vs. 6 for me in the top two, but I'm 100% on the 3 train...which probably means that my 6 will win, lol.

Satellites vs. Infinite Cities

Here's the tale of the tape. Both songs dominated the entire rankdown and never left the top 2. #2 is 20 points higher than Feeling Ok. Another interesting tidbit is that both songs dominated without having a #1 rank....until the final list. Will wheatsquares33 have his #1 pull through? Stay tuned.

This was a great top two, two of the very first songs I discovered from Spotify back in late 2015 and two bands that I've grown to really adore. Mew created something gorgeous with Satellites and The Bright Light Social Hour have gone to become one of my favorite bands to come out of this decade. So which of these criminally underrated songs came out on top? After the 3rd list, #1 never left the top spot.

"Infinite Cities" was, up to that point, the highest true discovery I've had in a rankdown, and I felt it earned that high ranking, even at the time. Despite that, though, back when I first did this ranking, my top two was far ahead of the rest of the pack. As of today, that has changed. I'd say that the top three now are ahead of the rest, and there's a part of me that would consider pushing "Infinite Cities" ahead of "Stoned, Alone". That's how much that song has continued to grow on me, and I could not be happier that it won this rankdown.

Well, it took a while, Lord, but congrats on getting to the end of this rankdown. Believe me, I know all about long waits. coughCrazy2cough

30. Typical - Tickle Me Pink
This is the typical guitar screamy stuff I really enjoyed in the late 2000's, but enjoyed enough to easily make my top 5 on this particular here. 

29. Daylight - Matt and Kim
This is honestly not the worst by this band, but still simple enough to fall in that Lovelytheband  pile of "broken" songs.

28. One More Cup of Coffee - Grouplove
No HD here. Pretty much keep it where you guys thought it would fit. Didn't remind me of the Grouplove I once dug. 

27. Garden Grays - Wildcat! Wildcat!
A bit too proggy (progressive) for me. The backup vocals seriously annoyed me. 

26. Want To Feel Alive - The Lighthouse and the Whaler 
Unfortunately this would have RSVPed my bottom 10.

25. Miracle Aligner - The Last Shadow Puppets
I really enjoyed this one. I have heard of this band. Reminds me of some of the new Blossoms' material. better yet The Heartbreaks. Most active during 2008-2010. 

24. Howling - Once A Tree
Slightly more tolerable than Billie Eilish. Sorry but still bottom 10. 

23. Hush - Magic City Hippies
Another one I really enjoyed, and it wasn't for the dancing girl in MV. It had some smooth like 70's- 80's going on. Even his weird attempt at rap didn't tune me out.

22.  OutRight - Wild Party
I surely would have upgraded this one among you guys' lists. Top 5. This is the stuff I chart. Remember "In and Out" Blonder? Anyway download? Check. 

21. Passing Through - Ark & Ocean
ok this sounded better on the second listen. I really enjoyed the dreamy melody. 

20. Desperation - 1st Vows
Certain instrument effects are my big pet peeves and this would not have fared well on my list at all. 

19. Goddess - Banks
The efefcts on her vocals alone is a tune out. I liked one song from this act. The one that charted on Alt a few years back.

18. House on Fire - Black Taxi
and we are back to what's pleasant sounding to me. Sounds like a moog in the back round. Anyway great melody and vocals. Another Top 10 entry.


17. End Credits - EDEN
I liked one aspect of this song. The female backrounds, but the male? Not one bit. Even the melodic value struck me as kind of sour. Kerosene would have come in handy here.

16. The Shaking of Leaves - Into It. Over It.
It didn't get me to do much shaking. However the vocals reminded me of some Alt bands gone by that I didn't hate.

15. Flower Girl - Sloucher
If the first song was Flower Girl than it isn't that bad. Sounds like a AAA wet dream. which isn't always a bad thing.

14. Murder Your Memory - Title Fight
way too broody for me. The guitars save it from bottom 10

13. Resonance - Home
80's like instrumental. There is a whole youtube chanel dedicated to this vibe. This is what I consider chill; and a fine first listen.

12. Bloodstream - Stateless
Another song that attracted me for the vibe I don't really swing for. The pianos and mellow vocal delivery. Its just that this song did a good combo with them.

11. Stoned, Alone - Teenage Wrist
One of the more guitar oriented songs but with a dream melody in the backround. Anchors my would be top 10.

10. When I Get Home - Post Animal
based on this songs I feel like I might enjoy other songs by this band, but this one is just alright.

9. Cherry - Chromatics
First saw this band on Pale Shelter charts. another of my would be top 5 songs here.

8. Rill Rill - Sleigh Bells
never quite heard anything like this before. Not exactly pop and not exactly Alt. the two soundworlds kinda meet in a place where it comes together nicely. Most of the effect comes from her vocals which I really enjoyed.

7. On & On - PLTS
I usually help out you guys with the songs with the louder guitar vibes. It's got some Jimmy Eat World vibes. This is another easy top 10 for me.

6. Deathless - Moving Mountains
What do you call this? Loud Folk music? Anyway, Not for me.

5. Darker - Doves
A bit on the mellow side, but still tuff and dark to sound a bit more attractive to me than other songs on the list.

4.  Black Mire - Lonely the Brave
Another one I quite enjoyed for the loudness factor. Powerful vocal delivery.

3. Feeling Ok - Best Coast
Note for note the most melodic song on the list. There is a lot of this vibe on the 95 Alt RD we are doing next. I just love a woman's vocals accompanied with loud guitars.

2. Satellites - Mew
So is the band names after Mary Elizabeth Winstead? I know she likes them. This is a great song. Whatever they are doing with the guitars it gives a perfect satellites vibe. At the 2:00 mark the song really won me over .

1. Infinite Cities - The Bright Light Social Hour
It's not too terrible. I like the guitars and music but not really a fan of the way the two male vocals sound.  However whatever is going on at the 2:35 mark sounds really intriuging. Like a Hawaiian melody taken to another level. Not bad.
