I'm not familiar with the original, but the "Sugar" single is cute.

So excited! I'm pretty sure she will do "Don't Start Now" and "Break My Heart" though.

BMH on March 27th would be really smart. It helped Taylor a lot so, it could probably help Dua.
Especially if she drops the video on the album release day? That would definitely push it into at least the Top 20.

I don't know, but I think Dua will perform "Don't Start Now" and "Physical" at SNL.
Although releasing "Break My Heart" a week before the album drops and a TV debut performance a day later seems the most logical thing, I doubt this would happen. I mean, I remember that she performed "New Rules" and "Homesick" at SNL two years ago when "IDGAF" was already announced as her next single, so I could see this pattern to follow.

As much as I'd love her to debut Break My Heart but we need physical to happen first
Perhaps she will do what many other artists have done and premiere another album track similar to The Weeknd performed "Scared To Live".
Idk but as long as I get a Physical performance I'm good, I'd also love to see the title track performed live but that's just wishful thinking

She performed Don't Start Now a LOT in the US and I think she's done with performing it there or even anywhere. A Physical performance is on lock based on the emoji in her Instagram post! Plus she said we will hear BMH next so I assume it will be released on March 27th.

Can we talk about the difference in her first album and the songs released so far from her second. The confidence growth is amazing. I am so proud of her.

Can we talk about the difference in her first album and the songs released so far from her second. The confidence growth is amazing. I am so proud of her. Pertaining to the songs themselves, on her debut she showed a lot of confidence in tracks like "New Rules", "Blow Your Mind" and "Hotter Than Hell". I think what improved this era is the stage presence needed to carry these tracks outside of a studio recording setting and into live performances. So based off that it's like she's transformed into another person.

Sonically she did a full 180 and went into disco/dance vibes Her debut didn't have any of it
Her only dabble with dance tracks was through collabs primarily One Kiss and Electricity Which when you think about it, those two songs bridge the sounds of both her debut and her current sound

I hope DSN peaks even higher next week, but I don't expect it to considering all the releases.

The Japanese edition of the album will have an additional TBA track. In before it's a remix of "Don't Start Now" or "Physical" of course. Actually, it's going to have three bonus tracks, but all of them are remixes. 12. "Don't Start Now" (Live In LA Remix)13. "Don't Start Now" (Purple Disco Machine Remix)14. "Physical" (Leo Zero Disco Remix)The Leo Zero Disco remix of "Physical" hasn't been released yet, so I assume this remix, alongside a remix package, will be released soon.

While the vibes were definitely not as overt, songs like "Dreams", "Lost In Your Light", "Last Dance", and "Begging" definitely hint at her potential in synth-pop and dance-pop, which was indeed further explored through her 2018 collabs. For me, it all feels like a natural progression. She started off showcasing what she could offer as an artist, from her soulful voice to acoustic ballads to pure pop tracks, and through the success of her dance collaborations, I imagine the direction for her upcoming album started taking shape, and alongside her established influences (mainly Madonna and her "Confessions" era) and willingness to do something new and exciting, the concept of "Future Nostalgia" was born. 😊

^ This is going to be included in a second wind from Future Nostalgia. Dua said the following. "There is a collaboration that me and Normani have done together on the album. I have a couple of songs that I've worked on, and that I kind of put aside for a second wind, so that's all to be discussed."

The description/thoughts of all the tracks (as an album review) were posted by the ATRL insider. I'm posting them as a spoiler in case some of you don't want to read them until the album release, so please avoid quoting them without the spoiler tag. Also, in case you want to discuss some specific track(s), don't quote all of this post. Thanks! {1. "Future Nostalgia"}What a fantastic opener, to me this is still her best song ever and will be considered one of her absolute peaks years from now, sad some still fail to see it. {2. "Don't Start Now"}Pretty insane how this song grew on me, I loved it from the first listen, but I did not consider it as strongest lead contender. Oh how wrong I was, Live in LA is yet another best thing she's ever done and elevated the track to highest level. {3. "Cool"}Another bop with surely striking production as the chorus comes, but it feels more breezy, maybe with a little nostalgic touch. Works great as a moment to catch a breath after "Don't Start Now" and before "Physical".
Got me losing all my cool, cause I'm burning up for you {4. "Physical"}The biggest song of the record, bop of the century etc etc. Formerly an opener btw. {5. "Levitating"}This is the track Nile previewed formerly known as "Starlight", as you can imagine it's a sweet, disco leaning, uplifting banger with lots of space references, definitely one of my favorites. Dua is singing quite fast is this one, there is also some heavy vocal layering especially in the nearly acapella bridge (flawless moment right before the strike of the final chorus). I got you, moonlight, you're my, starlight, I need you, all night, come on dance with me! I'm levitating!{6. "Pretty Please"}Probably my most unexpected moment of the record, if I had to choose one indie-baiting song on Future Nostalgia it would be this one. From the beginning it's rather minimalistic with just bare bassline and Dua's high, though sometimes nearly whispery, vocals, but as the song goes we witness a fantastic build up featuring lots of production tweaks, crystalish synthy swirls, random cow bell sounds, the more you listen the more details you hear. Felt sorta fillerish on first listen, but now I can't imagine the album without it.
Put my mind at ease, pretty please, I need your hands on me, sweet relief, pretty, please {7. "Hallucinate"}If "Physical" was to have a sister track on the record it would absolutely be this one. Massive, upbeat pop perfection I already see as an absolute fan fave. Those who love Ava Max can expect a mixture of "Torn" and "Sweet But Psycho" at once from it, but totally elevated. Lyrically it gets really close to "Levitating", I actually always seen this one as a stronger single contender than "Physical". The hook is so catchy, you're not ready! {8. "Love Again"}The most straight up disco influenced track, starts off with a cinematic intro full of beautiful strings, but just a moment later it completely switches to kicks-filled upbeat instrumentation that just grows on till the very end where we come back to intro-like ending. It reminds me of Lady Gaga's "I Want Your Love" so once again I'm surprised Nile Rodgers did not touch its production. Another one of my highlights as if there weren't enough already. {9. "Break My Heart"}Masterpiece I originally wanted to be the lead single, so glad it's getting a single treatment and hopefully it will get heavily pushed as it's absolute perfection and I can't imagine GP sleeping on it. {10. "Good In Bed"}Piano/bass driven mid tempo, a bit Doo-wop inspired but with some hip-hop influences I would say? Lyrics are the most interesting part as we finally step off the streak of love/infatuation glorifying bops. It was my least favorite track at some point, but rapidly grew on me due to its insane catchiness. The bridge features Dua's juicy: Yeah we don't know how to talk, but damn we know how to ****. Might be a polarizing track. {11. "Boys Will Be Boys"}As the title suggests the song is a feminist statement, it's really well written so I don't want to spoil anything, but the bridge, partially sung by a bunch of kids which is an interesting touch, follows: If you're offended by this song, you're clearly doing something wrong, very telling. Production wise it's a grand closer reminiscent of Selena Gomez's "Lose You To Love Me", but far more orchestral.

That description seems to point out that "Boys Will Be Boys" will be a midtempo/ballad, but I don't think it will be. Let's see how the song will be when the album is released because I'm intrigued too though~

Dua said there were no ballads on the album so I expect Boys Will Be Boys will be midtempo.
This sounds so euphoric. Perched for Hallucinate and Levitating especially!!! It sounds so cohesive too.
