"Don't Start Now" climbs back from #6 to #5 in the UK, spending 18 (!) non-consecutive weeks in the Top 10 and, by default, it's her longest-running hit in the top tier. Meanwhile, "Physical" jumps from #13 to #8, becoming her 8th Top 10 hit there and Dua has two songs inside the Top 10 too.

ACR (Accelerated Chart Ratio) penalises older tracks in decline and allows new hits to come through. ACR takes effect after more than nine weeks on the chart and three consecutive weeks of decline below the market streaming rate of change. The standard chart ratio to calculate chart ‘sales’ remains 100:1 for premium and 600:1 for ad-funded services. ACR is set at 200:1 (premium) and 1200:1 (ad-funded). |

Shame about the cancellation of the SNL performance, but I'm sure the album release will be enough to give "Don't Start Now" the necessary boost to #1.
When the song was first released, I was expecting it to have a solid enough performance stateside (à la "One Kiss"), but definitely not to extent it has. Top 10 on streaming sans album bombs, and radio totally jumped onboard, which is fantastic. I'm so proud of Dua Lipa, and I'm so excited for "Future Nostalgia"! 💕

Diplo teased that there's an upcoming collaboration with Dua (for his side project Silk City alongside Mark Ronson) on his interview to Billboard. You and Mark Ronson teamed up [as Silk City] with Dua Lipa for "Electricity," the Grammy-winning project. Did you happen to work at all on her new album Future Nostalgia? Or have you gotten with her for any of your upcoming things?
We actually did some writing demos for that album. But we have something new that might be another Silk City record. We're playing with that. It's really about her project, so I think that's going to come out first, and then see what hits. But I love collaborating with her. The first record I did with her was with Major Lazer. It was called "My Love," with WizKid, which was way ahead of his time. It was a like a Dua Lipa Afrobeat pop record that honestly was like before she even had her big hit ["New Rules"]. It was right around [Drake's] "One Dance," so it made sense for England and London, but it was actually a huge record for us for a little while. We played it at Glastonbury with her, but... it was, like, way too early for that record. It's still a really awesome sounding record and sounds new to me. |

At this point, I'm waiting for "Future Nostalgia" album release when Dua Lipa's camp discounts "Don't Start Now" on iTunes, throws out a surprising vinyl sale for it, send it back to #1 on Today's Top Hits Playlist on Spotify, and push a 7th Mediabase format for the song to give it the last strongest-push (alongside album streams) it needs to grab the No. 1 spot on the Hot 100.
I'm totally convinced her camp is planning all of this (possibly even more)...especially with the coronavirus pandemic (and everyone on lockdown), this is the easiest and safest way for them to give her that boost without the SNL performances.
