I'm rooting for Best Dance Recording myself, just b/c BNA feels like a longshot with H.E.R. being the only nominee who has another general field nomination and Carolina Liar being the only act with no one else in their genre to possibly split votes with. Also, people act so damn crotchety about BNA being a 'curse' these days and create backlash over nothing that I almost would rather her not win it. Let someone else deal with that drama. Wait. You mean Greta Van Fleet? I was just telling my co-worker it’d be kinda cool if Jorja Smith had an Esperanza moment and took it since she’s the most "literally who?" nominee in the category. Back to Dua, I’m rooting rooting for her to take home the win for Best Dance Recording. If Daya could snag it, I have high hopes!

From now on, it's Grammy Award (®) Winning Artist Dual Lips for y'all. So proud of what she has achieved with just one album.

Yeah the producers went a little trigger happy towards the end with the cutting. I feel like her speech was getting there...
Anyways, two time Grammy Award winning artist Dua Lipa... I'm so happy <3

She said at the GRAMMY backstage that she's working to finish her new album, which is 'almost done'. She wants to keep it as a secret as long as she can until she puts out new music, which would be soon, and there might be collaborations on it. Also, she could complete her GRAMMY speech there.

“For anyone who hasn’t realized how special they are for having a different story, a different background, a name that honors their roots...because they just want to be normal, whatever the hell that means...just know that no matter where you’re from or your background or what you believe in, never let that get in the way of you and your dreams because you...deserve it.” I felt that and CRIED. She made Albanians and especially Kosovar Albanians everywhere in the world proud tonight.

As an Eastern European Immigrant who grew up wishing they had a different name, birthplace, and dialect that people didn't repeatedly point out until I was out of my teens, and who had to learn self-validation in so many painful and difficult ways, I really wish there had been someone around like her when I was growing up instead of things like Amy Lee. I have a good amount of hope that she will be the first UK female act since Adele to properly expand the success of their first album with their second.

I remember reading somewhere that she didn't really grow to like her own name until much later in life. She wanted to change it for the better part of her childhood and teenage years because it sounded different.
From wiki: Like I said I feel like her speech had a nice point and she was getting there before they cut her.

I stan a TWO-TIME Grammy WINNER. What a dream night, we thought 2017 was her year, then 2018 blew completely and now 2019 rolls in amazingly well! And we still have the BRITs!!

I have a good amount of hope that she will be the first UK female act since Adele to properly expand the success of their first album with their second. Omg, everything. Having classmates impart a dialect or accent onto me where there was none or it's not distinct enough to routinely make fun of me. But alas, they did. Beginning every school year with the unbearable cruelty of ROLL CALL when a teacher would make mincemeat of my name and I'd have to be like, "yes, I am the person who has the name you cannot even begin to pronounce so please just call me Brian." I was a little kid! Can't forget when a high school teacher said my name is the sound an immigrant makes when they fall off a boat. Which is extremely funny, not gonna lie. But how fucked. And don't even get me started on when Borat came out. :cries: Anyway, thank you for existing Dua!!!!
