Now that "Going Under" has finally lost its bullet after making a surprisingly slow but steady climb into the top 10, how soon do you think a third single will be released? What will it be? I've heard rumors that "Tourniquet" will be next, but that's not official. Any thoughts?
In case you guys haven't gathered, I'm an Evanescence fan. :)

I still haven't heard anything, and since their message board was removed months ago, there isn't any way to know through that route.
Where did you hear the rumor that "Tourniquet" would be released next?

I would say "Whisper" which is also the most radio-friendly IMO. I have to say that classical bit in the song is really cool.
"Touniquet" and "Haunted" have some excellent gothic sounds, esp with Lee's solemn vocals... could have a nice fall/winter feel to it I'm thinking...

I agree that "Whisper" would be a good choice.
I wonder of "My Immortal" will be released to pop radio.

LOL, "Going Under" has a bullet again. It's not much though, at +23.
"Tourniquet" has 11 spins on Alternative, all from Honolulu's KUCD. It's the only other song on the album getting play besides "GU" and "BMTL".

Actually, I think I heard that rumor when the Evanescence board was still up and running. But since a good length of time has passed, it's probably completely off at this point. I think it's hilarious that "Going Under" is the song that refuses to die after it was predicted to fail by some forum members.

"Tourniquet" would be a great third single! I have a question, though. If "My Immortal" was used on the DAREDEVIL soundtrack, would it be too late to consider it for single release?

No, if it were released, it would be released from their CD and not from the Soundtrack. Like with 'Angel' by Sarah McLachlan, hitting radio about 9 months after the soundtrack was released, or Holly McNarland's 'Watching Over You' coming out almost a year after 'Men With Brooms' in Canada.

"Everybody's fool" For Alternative / Rock, and "My Inmortal" for HOT AC / Triple A would be the best choice

Tourniquet for the rock formats.
My Immortal seems destined to be an album cut. It might hit the AAA chart if released. I like it a lot though, I just think it's a bad choice for a single in the current radio climate.

I think "Tourniquet" would be the best choice. Then "My Last Breath."
I don't think anything else would work on radio.
"Everybody's Fool" is awesome, but it's a little too formulaic and short.
"Imaginary," "Haunted," and "Taking Over Me" just aren't strong enough for radio.
"My Immortal" would kill any and all rock-radio credibility they ever had, despite how much people like it.
"Whisper" is too long.
"Hello" is obviously not commercial enough for radio, plus it's a subdued ballad.

"My Last Breath", "Everybody's Fool", or "Imaginary" would make excellent singles. I can see "My Immortal" being released to AC or even Pop.

I'm kind of about the choice if it in fact is true. It's a great song, one of the best on the album, but they're basically asking to be pigeonholed as pop, and therefore fall into the trap that so many rock crossover acts have found over the past 10 years.

I am really dissapointed by this choice. I think it's a great song and all, but as Matt said, they are gonnabe categorized as pop. I don't even know if this will do well on pop due to the success of "Going Under" on alternative. Ugh.

Well isn't that a wheelbarrow full of horseshit. The absolute worst choice for a single, apparently, ends up being it.

I thought "My Immortal" was an obvious release. It will probably do for them what "Here Without You" is doing for 3DD.

The version will be different than the album version www.evanescenceitalia.comThat site has a preview of the sound-she rerecorded some of the vocals and the band comes into the song, towards the end (more drums, more guitar) I think this is a brilliant song-however, completely unsuitable for alternative/rock radio. In my wildest dreams, I had hoped for My Immortal sent to pop/hot Ac/Ac while another single, a rock single, sent to all the rock markets. I cant see this doing well on alternative, but...I guess the decision has been made.

But I can't tell from that whether they made it slightly better, or made it an absolute load of crap. I'd have to hear the whole thing.

lol. I actually agree with that. Relistening, it sounds as if they could pull off a good rock ballad-building up slowly into a big finish at the end of the song But the clip sounds like it could also be a disjointed effort. I dont know, we should be hearing the full version soon :)

Lol. I couldn't find the clip, so i went to that forum over there. I don't know Italian, but you can tell by the smilies that every one of them is ecstatic over this single. Crazy loyal Italian people.
(I did find it there...it's downloading now).

Using the AltaVista translator for this topic: Here one news of the Steppin' Out situated magazine postata on this going back one yesterday www.roadrun.com/blabbermouth.net/ Amy says that to the end it has chosen next MY IMMORTAL like single also on "pressure" of the fans
(English text of the article) --------- I knew. I knew. I knew... Cioe... of it I did not have the certainty but me I imagined... Or My Immortal or Everybody' s Fool.. You will see how many fans in more will have after this single one... The Evanescence Mania will explode... :o --------- it says that they were not still ready to a rock ballad while they wanted to let out an other song rock. xò a song of the sort she will heat i ns hearts x all the winter :) ---------(I couldn't understand the next post) --------- According to me they had to let out before Bring Me To Life, then My Immortal and after Going Under.... But he goes to me very well therefore --------- my immortal? they are most content!!! anch' I believe that they would have had to let out it as second single who has not listened to the cd would be remained sure more been strange. My immortal is a song that you would not expect... is that song that leaves you with the breath suspended already from the first one listens and sure would have made more taken than a going under that as style is nearer bmtl. my immortal it would have astonished more who has not never listened to the cd and made to understand that in the album and the potentialities of the band there is something of various... So I'd say you're right.

There is a good possibility that Evanescence could get five hit singles from this album. Are they touring only, or has there been any mention of recording a new album?
"My Immortal" could very well be the sleeper hit from "Fallen".

it is suposed to be the version of "My Inmortal" that they play in concerts... that's what I heard from the lead singer ( I don't know how to spell her name) in an interview for a Spanish radio

It did the rare feat of having 62 spins, all on one station. It's in Little Rock which is the area they are from.

"Tourniquet" would be a great a choice and it sounds different from their usual songs for some reason. There seems to be a lot going on in the song. Although, they should still realease "My Immortal" to Pop, Hot AC, Triple A, and maybe even AC.
