- What songs surprised you by making the top ten? Disillusioned, but not surprise, my #100 song. The rest are the usual suspects.
- What songs are you disappointed to see miss out on the top ten? Marilyn Manson, AFI. Nickelback. My usual suspects
- Two bottom tens remain. We already know what Doc's last remaining bottom ten is. But what's CagedJuggalo: The Return's #92? True, but I bet money the Deftones, or maybe another, of those songs in the 14-11 slots, song ,would have made the top 10, if you all had tanked the rap song. Maybe @doinktheclown dunks "The Red"
- Care to predict the top ten (or, at the very least, the #1)?
1 Red Hot Chili Peppers - Can't Stop My last hope.
2 Foo Fighters - All My Life
3 Queens of the Stone Age - No One Knows
4 Foo Fighters - Times Like These
5 Coldplay - Clocks
6 Audioslave - Like a Stone
7 Chevelle - The Red
8 Coldplay - The Scientist
9 Queens of the Stone Age - Go with the Flow
10 Eminem - Lose Yourself I mean really. I remember when rap started off as a gimmick. "Rock Me Amadeus", "Pop Muzic", Disco Duck", "Take Off' from Bob and Doug Mckenzie,"88 Lines About 44 Women". How the hell did it ever became the forte in Pop music?

My last hope. This, folks, is what we call a nearly inhaling microphonecontradictionActually its called sarcasm. Those songs I mentioned if anything are merely to make my point. Back in the day, That speaking style was used as a gimmick for those who really didn't have vocal tones for singing. it's cool to have a little rap verse here and there al a style that Snoop does in some Katy Perry song, but still keeps a musical melody. I can name 10 songs I love with some raping, that still keeps the song fun for all ages, but for the whole song to revolve around rapping.....then you got that other whole genre, of hardcore "gangsta rap", with lyrics I can never relate to. I don't know how you guys handle it, but I can't. Think about the Sex lyrics of "Sleaze Rock" with the "nasty", 'vile", "gross" content that tunes most of you out. Well, that's exactly how I feel about these rappathons. And it's not just the rap songs. You have seen me tank rap metal, Rap Screamo and whatever else makes the song sound too "nasty" now if you mean ;The song, "Can't Stop" itself. I admit the verses might have a dash of Rap Rock, but Anthony is not using the monotonous tone that rap usually has, and the rest of the song is pure melody. No way ,that song falls in the same catagory as "Lose Yourself". Seriously; LOL! At Red Hot Chili Pepper's being anything remotely rap. look em up. Funk Metal, Funk Rock, Alternative Rock. Now look up Eminem. Hip Hop, Rap, Urban. Even Pop. Anything but Alternative Rock.

then you got that other whole genre, of hardcore "gangsta rap", with lyrics I can never relate to. I don't know how you guys handle it, but I can't. Because there are levels of emotional connection (or just plain entertainment value) that go beyond "this thing he's talking about could literally exactly happen to me in my own day-to-day". In the case of Lose Yourself specifically, nothing about it is really offensive at all, and the lyrics go over some pretty universal or at least insightful topics; stage-fright, dedication, risk-taking, parenting, relationship problems, the cycle of fame, loyalty, poverty, wanderlust, anxiety, fatalism... now if you mean ;The song, "Can't Stop" itself. I admit the verses might have a dash of Rap Rock, but Anthony is not using the monotonous tone that rap usually has The only reason "Can't Stop" can be said to be rap rock are the parts where Kiedis stops changing pitch. The definition of "monotonous". To be frank, Eminem varies his pitch more often in Lose Yourself while still rapping. and the rest of the song is pure melody. There are, like, three notes that comprise the vast majority of his vocal line in the song. The melodic content is not particularly rich. Seriously; LOL! At Red Hot Chili Pepper's being anything remotely rap. look em up. Funk Metal, Funk Rock, Alternative Rock. Ok, I looked it up.

- What songs surprised you by making the top ten? The Red and Lose Yourself were the only ones that surprised me.
- What songs are you disappointed to see miss out on the top ten? I am shocked that Minerva and Seven Nation Army missed out. I really would’ve wanted Dosed or 12:51 to make it.
- Two bottom tens remain. We already know what Doc's last remaining bottom ten is. But what's CagedJuggalo: The Return's #92? I am guessing it’s either one of the Foo Fighter songs
- Care to predict the top ten (or, at the very least, the #1)? 10. Lose Yourself 9. Times Like These 8. The Red 7. Go With The Flow 6. Clocks 5. Can’t Stop 4. The Scientist 3. All My Life 2. Like A Stone 1. No One Knows

I'm typing in Georgia, size 3 font, and though that usually means that I'm about to show off a hint or reveal a song...in this case, it means that it's time for my top ten preview! As always, if these stats are incorrect, make sure to let me know.
- This is the first top ten appearance for Eminem, though it will not be his only chance to do so. We will see "Without Me" and "The Real Slim Shady" soon. - Welcome to the Alt top ten, Audioslave! This is their second rock chart rankdown top ten, with their first being "I Am the Highway" in Active 2004. - Coldplay are doubling up, making their third and fourth appearances in the top ten. Naturally, they will have some more changes over the next couple of rankdown years, but this may be as good as it gets for the band. We'll see... - Queens of the Stone Age are back, and they are also doubling up with their fourth and fifth top ten appearances, respectively. Both "No One Knows" and "Go with the Flow" will be looking to help Queens win their first Alt RD after winning Active 2005. - The Red Hot Chili Peppers are back, making their sixth top ten appearance. Of course, the first five times they made the top ten, they did so with just two songs...though that also means that these songs "did the double", so it will be interesting to see if "Can't Stop" does the same later on. - Two heavy hitters remain, though one is doing something they've never done before. That's right, Chevelle are making their first Alt top ten appearance after previously making an Active top ten fourteen times. Took them long enough, eh? It will be interesting to see how far "The Red" goes, given that this is uncharted territory for Chevelle. - And finally, the kings are back, as the Foo Fighters are making their eighteenth and nineteenth rock chart rankdown top ten appearance. They are still on the lookout for their sixth #1, but they will have a 20% chance of doing so tonight.

Not particularly in the mood to reveal right now, but "not being in the mood" is not really a good excuse to not reveal, so...let's do this.
Now, we are going to do something different for the top ten. Instead of wordy reveals and fun wordplay, I'm just going to offer up six stats for each of the next eight songs, lest I say something that would 100% give away the reveal. Feel free to try and figure out what these songs are...

Oh wow, I thought this might actually win. Instead, it 'only' placed 9th. Not complaining, though, since everything left is in my top 30.
Also, lol @ the placement matching the chart peak.
I'll admit that overplay has kinda damaged this song for me, but it's still pretty good.
