The Anthem would be way lower for me if not for the memories I have associated with it. It's aged really poorly and I probably overranked it, and yet it's leagues better than garbage like I Just Wanna Live. Did Festival Song chart? Nah, just "Little Things" did from that album.
We’ll end the night with another divisive reveal at #71, even if it didn’t crack the top 20 highest standard deviations. Someone who lost a top 10 recently will lose yet another one, while someone else who hasn’t been doing so hot will lose another top 20. I imagine the five people who ranked it bottom 10 will rejoice, specifically the three that ranked it bottom 5.
This song started off at its highest point and just kept falling from there. It reached a low inside the bottom 25 but fended off the tankers enough to just barely miss out on the top 70.

Please let this mean their other songs will soon follow. (I say even though I know they won't.)

Nah, just "Little Things" did from that album.I just assumed it hung around the bottom at least because I saw the video for that and Motivation Proclamation all the time on MTV2. The former I saw mostly on that one request block on MTV2 that just played the same 50 or so videos, like that Lit video with the mullet robot. Yep, I can go back pretty deep.

On the subject of Now CDs, I think I first heard of this band/person (not sure if it's just him or not) when they had I Woke Up in a Car on that one bonus disc of new artists that had OK Go and a bunch of others on it. There are like no copies of it online anywhere though and I'm the only person who knows of its existence (along with this one other bonus disc from 2005, think it had We Are Scientists on it?).

That chant in "mOBSCENE" was stuck in my head all the time back then, but I never could identify where it was from. I only knew the melody, and I would come up with random words to fit that melody. I knew I had heard it somewhere, and that I didn't just make it up, but I never found out where I heard it. Thanks to this rankdown, I now know what song it is. (This isn't the song I was referring to back on page 2. In fact, I had forgotten about that chant until this rankdown. But I am glad I rediscovered this song.)

"The Quiet Things..." was so much bigger around here than it was on the national scale. Great song anyhow.
"Space" is a solid song too.

mObscene was a sweet first listen. If I waited to submit my list later it would have cracked my top 20 probably. Those who ranked it, honestly just curious why. What’s so offensive about it?

Marilyn Manson is just reaaaaaaaaaaally not for me, that's all there is to my ranking (although 'Personal Jesus' got something of a pass in 2004 Active).

I honestly liked mObscene a fair bit. Granted it's not quite to the levels of 90s Manson but the cheerleader chanting worked way better than I thought it would. Too bad Astonishing Panorama of the Endtimes didn't chart.

So Alt radio decided to ignore the entire 13 era (which produced excellent single after excellent single) and "Out of Time" (which I think was the lead for Think Tank)...but they charted this instead? Okay. Out Of Time is brilliant!

Some thoughts on the reveals; mostly satisified with them.
St. Anger is just terrible.
Socialburn's vocalist reminded me too much of Puddle of Mudd for me to enjoy them.
Both Cold songs deserved a bit better.
I'm fine with Liberate being out, but Remember barely missed my top 50 (which is one of the higher ranks I've given Disturbed on an Alternative rankdown), which is saying something considering the alternative rankdowns are more stacked. Glad that one's still in.
I'll treat Not Falling better in the active rankdown. Good song, but found more than half the list better.
I really overranked the Revis song.
The Saliva songs here are pretty inoffensive, but still not enough for me to put them higher.
Still Frame > Headstrong

I feel bad putting Always that low. I absolutely LOVE that song, but it was a matter of standing with it or cutting my losses.

I got tired of my taste being considered.... Random....so I tried going more for a mix of taste and closeness. I'm sure you of all people would understand...unless you think that's random too

I literally put Saliva in my top 20 and 40 and would do it again.

85. My Goddess - The ExiesI like this a bit more than "Ugly". Idk? I doubt any of their songs would ever rank in the top 50's? Not even on Active. 84. Liberate - DisturbedYou "mutha fukas" need to Liberate your mind and stop tanking Disturbed on Alt rankdowns. You know I'm gonna put this one super high on Active. 83. Everyone - SocialburnLooking up my old charts fro this year; I saw this on my HOT LIST, but never cracked my Top 50, so that's where I kept it. That being said I got some POM vibes here and there. 82. Suffocate - ColdThis is a great song. A lot like Seether style. better than half the songs on this list. 81. Price to Play - Staind Wow! I am clearly not listening to the same songs some of you are. Great song. 80. Not Falling - MudvayneI admit that this is not their most melodic, but I'm still gonna end up ranking, this one ,so much higher than a bunch of you? 79. Always - Saliva I think some of you just read the name Saliva and tank the song? I'm gonna guess those of us who rank this one top 50, are the bigger Nickelback fans? ;) 78. Rest in Pieces - SalivaDid the Powerballad vibe scare all of you off? Seriously it's basically an ALt ballad, so what gives???? 77. (I Hate) Everything About You - Three Days GraceWondered when this Alt classic would show up? Man you guys suck. 76. Crazy Beat - BlurI recall at least two great songs from this band. "Girls And Boys" and "Song 2", but this one was a trainwreck. I upgraded it a bit out of Bottom 10, for having an Alternative vibe. 75. The Anthem - Good CharlotteYou are all some sad ass trolls. I'm gonna keep putting Good Charlotte high, regardless, because their songs were great. 74. Caught in the Rain - Revishad to click on it again to refresh my memory. I don't see why this end up so low? I'm guessing the vocals are not as autotuned as some of you prefer? 73. Still Frame - TraptAnother band that doesn't get any justice on Pulse. 72. The Road I'm On - 3 Doors DownThis one easy makes my Top 50. These alt bands and songs had balls back in the day. 71. mOBSCENE - Marilyn Manson Wrong! Wrong! Fucking Wrong! 8D This alt rankdown is all ass backwards. This song has some of the best lyrics around that year. Scream along, Chant along, whatever you desire. Just do it.

EXTRA:
I must be in a good mood, because ever one of these songs had something I could enjoy. Weather it was the vocals, The music, The hook, or in Third Eye Blind's case, The lyrics.
Unstable - Adema I could get into this song, Depending what time of the day it is?
Skin - Breaking Benjamin Great stuff. I wish I got a chance to rank it here? I'm thinking top 20 for me?
Gasoline - Seether Another one i would have ranked pretty fucking high.
Space - Something Corporate Cool vibe. Cool song. Much better than the crap he is releasing now a days. That's for sure.
The Quiet Things That No One Ever Knows - Brand New Didn't know about this song back than, but I like it. Sounds great everytime it pops up on the pulse threads.
Blinded (When I See You) - Third Eye Blind One of my favorite songs of that year. This would have been Top 10 material on this rankdown?
Bullitproof - Pacifier Hooked me from the start. I like those hard guitar vibe intros. They easily pull me in. By the time the chorus rolls around I'm convinced.
