People are justifying their comments about "not feeling sympathy" for XXXTENTACION because he did questionable things in his life as OK because that is not celebrating his death you are just "not feeling sympathy" So some people are feeling the opposite of sympathy then. or "Not Sympathy" According to my thesaurus "Not Sympathy" means the same thing as cruelty, harshness and hatred. At this point, it really doesn't matter what he did or did not do in his life. Right. These people are full of shit and know it. If you're going to be cruel the very least you can do is be honest about it. |

It's only available for premium users. But aren’t premium users the only tracking system Spotify uses for chart data anyway? I’m not sure, but I didn’t think they count unsubscribed plays. No, the Spotify charts are based on everyone, not just premium members. |

No, the Spotify charts are based on everyone, not just premium members. Aren’t ad-supported and subscription-supported weighed differently though? Not on Spotify's own charts. Those are strictly based on play counts from all users. They will be starting next week on the Hot 100, though. |

Idk, looking at its youtube numbers so far, 11mil with a few more hours to rack some more and the fact that his YT views were always mostly from the US, its probably not too late |

^Well, regarding YT I see that 4 songs out of the top 9 most viewed videos worldwide over the last 24 hours are XXXTentacion songs. Ironically, this happens just a couple of weeks before the new streaming rules for the Hot 100 come into effect. |

The "Apeshit" Spotify numbers still seem staggeringly low to me. Especially compared to the "routine" album takeovers that are constantly on Spotify. The thing about Spotify is, you can't listen to albums on mobile without being a premium subscriber. So I always assumed that the Spotify According to this article, about 45% of Spotify users are premium. appleinsider.com/articles/18/02/28/spotify-files-to-go-public-with-159-million-active-users-71-million-premium-subscribersSo that means even if we divide "Apeshit" by .45, that's only enough to get it to 559,046. Which would make it the 35th biggest song of Monday the 18th. Compare that to Nas, who was in position #30 and #31 last Friday with 623K and 622K. Either there's something else I'm not understanding about the context of this release. Or it kinda lends credibility to the idea that Beyonce and Jay-Z were only as big as they were in the last two years because they lied about their Tidal numbers. We'll see how this all plays out in the next week or two, but I have a feeling that "Love Is Everything" will have a smaller impact on the Hot 100 than "4:44". |

Their album is also only found under "THE CARTERS", simply typing Jay Z or Beyoncé won't bring up the album or any of the songs, although Beyoncé did post it to her Spotify page. Anyway I like APESH*T but I highly doubt it's gonna do as well as some people are assuming, but it DOES have strong YouTube numbers so who knows.

Nicki Minaj and Ariana Grande’s “The Light is Coming” drops tonight/tomorrow on a Wednesday. Won’t that mean it will debut this week on the chart lower and then hopefully shoot up. Wouldn’t this hurt it’s chances to get number one/top ten?

Wouldn’t this hurt it’s chances to get number one/top ten? Maybe, but not everything is about a high debut and one week peak. A good song that resonates on a top 10/#1 level will get there. This phase of pre-release tracks is about album promotion. This expectation and desire for bloated/high debuts has really warped the definition of a hit in the last few years. So many songs with high peaks end up medium-sized hits at best. it's all fine, and it is just a week's worth of data, but peaks just aren't what they used to be. They've become as deceiving as Tidal's streaming figures, relatively anyway. It's comparable to all these crazy face-altering filters on photos these days - they look cool, but it's an illusion. A flash of falsity for a few days worth of likes and it's over. |

Audiences were obviously *so* hungry for new Bieber in 2016 and 2017. So many high debuts as a featuring artist.
I feel like he should have struck while the iron was hot and released some stuff then. But I guess he's taking his time.
Weird and unfortunate that the one song he did as a main artist basically flopped after all of those home runs as a featured artist.

There is "Hard to Face Reality" by Poo Bear ft. JB and Jay Electronica, few people checked it out even though the video was done by a popular YouTuber. Similar issue to all Akon features and both Konvict Kartel album the last couple of years. |
