"Easy On Me" just fell off the AC chart where songs generally linger for a year or more. So, there are no songs from "30" currently charting and the album is barely clinging onto the Billboard 200. This era is over - it would take a marketing miracle to resuscitate a basically dormant project at the point. Time for Adele to join all the other has-beens and artists whose careers have past their peaks in Vegas.

Of course Adele is past her peak. Did you see her fucking peak?! Man, most artists would kill to even have 30 as their peak. She still has a very, very long way to go before she is as irrelevant as that post implies.
Also, as for the AC chart, songs chart forever because they usually take forever to even reach their peaks. Easy on Me was an anomaly that skyrocketed up the AC chart. So a large chunk of what would be a normal AC chart run was cut off entirely. The fact that it just now fell off, a year after release, is impressive.

It's also hard to even truly judge this era considering how little effort has been put into it past the initial release promo.

It's also hard to even truly judge this era considering how little effort has been put into it past the initial release promo. I'd say it was ultimately a big deal overall for a short while but a clear step down for Adele. 25 ultimately sold less than 21 but you'd have to look for some haters to find someone claiming it was ultimately a let down. But the drop here was much bigger, even if you take into consideration the decline of sales in the last few years. She and her team just don't seem to care about stuff like virality or singles, which is probably by design. But the lack of effort is not an excuse for the decline in numbers, it's what caused it. People might point out to Easy on Me ruling for 10 weeks at the Hot 100 but, while I agree it ultimately did better than expected, it was also way more reliant on radio than most songs that rule that long... which is fine, but they proceeded to abandon any type of radio effort, meaning her songs didn't get pushed to the format that's most willing to give her success these days. No one is selling many digital singles and she streams OK to mediocre depending on how much she pushes, but on radio she could still be the #1 act if she actually tried.

Really crazy to think that the whole fiasco with her Vegas residency pretty much derailed this era. To be fair, I do think that 21 and 25 had more potential hit songs to choose from as well when it comes to singles.

The video was ok. Nothing special but Adele has never been a visual artist. Oh My God is still the best video of the era.
Also, what Halloween costumes was this video inspiring? Adele looked/dressed the same as she has many times. This whole IDW video inspiring costumes is up there with Adele saying there was choreography in the SML video.

I'll give her team credit that they've stepped it up in terms of creativity for videos this era ("OMG" and "I Drink Wine"). But, this standing / walking / lying is NOT what we want from Adele. I don't understand how they / she doesn't understand.

The bar for her discography is low and yet they fail to surpass it every time.
I still love the song.

I also don't get what's supposed to be a Halloween costume, wearing a gown, holding a glass of wine, and sitting down? I can do that any time of the year, darling. this video was shot in September 2021, btw. as soon as I saw the end I remembered seeing this back then:

There are "rumours" that Adele will be surprise dropping her 5th album later this year. I highly doubt it, but would be happy if true. I think the origin of these rumors is from deuxmoi. they're not always credible (so I wouldn't take it seriously just yet) but there are enough details in this that I'm like... maybe it's true? she hasn't done much besides going to the BRITs this year so she had ample time. and I guess this is for I Drink Wine video we should be thankful tho, at least it's in color unlike 70% of EOM and OMG.

I'm confused because the insider somehow got that right but it's not even a new song, so I'm thinking maybe deuxmoi posted it a year too late lol. this blind would make sense as insider info in September 2021, not so much in September 2022.

That was a nice video. Probably one of her most interesting for having so many videos where she just stands there and mouths the words.
The fake blue jay was the only thing which pulled me out of the video.
That said, the end with her floating in the water with the petals reminded me very much of Kylie Minogue in "Where The Wild Roses Grow."

I'm not sure what my disconnect with 30 is. Her vocals are great, the songwriting is strong, it shows a clear progression...but it always felt like a bit of a chore to get through. Loved, and still love, "Easy On Me," "Oh My God," "Can I Get It," and a few others, but those are still the only three I listen to with intention. When others come up I can appreciate them, but I'm not terribly drawn to them. Adele lives or dies by the songcraft for me. Not all artists need to stick to those typical tropes to shine, but she's definitely one of them IMO. This album is incredibly personal, the lyric sheet is lovely, production is excellent per the usual, but so much of it rambles and drags. So many lackluster hooks and unengaging melodies. 25 remains her best IMO. I'm with you, and there's also something a little darker/dramatic about 25 for me. Songs like "Water Under the Bridge" and "Love in the Dark" have an extra element to them that make them stand out more than some of the songs on 21.

youtu.be/kj8Vzp8ijaYOmg, the “stuff like that” after every two words is so annoying, and so weird for someone that is know for her use of words. Is that a new thing for her? Dont remember it in the past First thing I noticed when first listening to the monologue in “My Little Love.”

3.5M views for the video on day 1 is not too shabby -- of course it could be way better. Curious to see if there's any notable audio streaming increases happening.

Hopefully this'll be what it takes to give the album a good boost and get Adele's name in the conversation again. "Oh My God" seemed like it would be a good second single, but it came and went so fast that even I forgot it was released, and then all these months went by without anything else being pushed. Admittedly, I haven't paid much attention to the Vegas news, which probably explains some of it, but if they're going to continue with the album campaign, I hope she and her team will put in the effort.

There was a whole event for the music video, but they're not even sending it for adds anywhere? This is really one of the worst handled eras -- when it could've and should've been one of the best.

I feel like the video was dropped to promote the residency, and even then, only because it was shot well before the album dropped. If she had to actually record something in the last few months, I don't think she would have bothered.

Didn't the residency sell out in like a minute? Why does she need to release a video to promote it?
This is Grammy consideration time, 30 has been collecting dust for quite sometime now. And albums have come out after that have gained considerable traction. I think this was dropped to remind voters that she has music out there.

I wouldn't be surprised if Adele (and label) is content with the album results because EOM did its job. Most artists need to push several singles to get her results and still don't manage. The focus now is Grammy time.
