Just because the phrase "8th day effect" is really only used here doesn't mean it's not a thing. It's a "thing" here and a commonly used term here. It is tossed around here like it is something people should know - some do not - that is why they ask. No, it's a thing that does happen no matter where you're at. Just because people don't notice it's a thing until they get here doesn't mean it's not a real thing. Just because the industry doesn't follow it closely and give it a name doesn't mean it isn't real. We here at Pulse just happen to have a short phrase to describe the phenomenon. It's still very much a thing people in the radio industry or study the radio industry knows about, it's just not really anything they care about enough to give it a name because it's not a blip on most of their radars since it's such an insignificant thing that effects only one daily radio update. (Well, actually eight of them if you consider the bullet, but again, pretty insignificant.) Secondly, people commonly ask about it here because, well, where else do you see a bunch of people discussing the daily radio updates publicly? ATRL? That's, like, it. |

It's streams will eventually stabilize at the 2M mark on Spotify. It'll hold steady on Apple Music and it'll keep pulling in enough streams in the US on YouTube especially with the video out now. Adele isn't dropping anything this year. Neither is Ed. Only person I could see eventually taking that #1 spot from him is if Rihanna chooses to start her next era before the year runs out. Otherwise, yes, In My Feelings looks slated to not only be the longest-running #1 of Drake's career, but the longest-running #1 of the year. |

The streams In My Feelings will pull from YouTube US this week will offset whatever streams Sicko Mode pulls this week. In My Feelings is also outselling Sicko Mode on iTunes and has a huge amount of radio audience impressions, something Sicko Mode doesn't have. The song will debut in the top 10, most likely top 5, but it isn't hitting #1 anytime soon. Also Travis songs aren't known for having longevity at top positions on the charts. I honestly can't see any song with the potential to dethrone In My Feelings anytime soon. The GP also LOVES In My Feelings. Their support for the song isn't going anywhere anytime soon. |

It's streaming numbers are much higher and it's rising up radio at a much faster rate than God's Plan. Also, like God's Plan, it's streams from it's video will start to count from it's 5th week at #1. It also seems primed to peak higher on radio than God's Plan. I don't know how ANYONE is seeing that this song will only do 8-10 weeks at #1. No song that's been released yet is a threat. IMF will probably do 80-90 million streams in the US this week. Might break the record again next week and he'll slowly descend down in the following weeks. Might stabilise at 50-60 million streams per week 5-6 weeks from now. By then, he'll have reached 140-160 million audience impressions if he's still gaining as well on radio. IMF seems like it'll sell as well as God's Plan did for as long as it did. I don't see the song that's beating all of that to remove him from the #1 spot in the next 8-10 weeks. |

Also, his North American tour starts on Friday and that'll help with the numbers for Scorpion and In My Feelings. I don't see In My Feelings going anywhere for a long time.

How? Massive music video and pop airplay With In My Feelings taking off on radio and Nonstop being pushed right now, I don't think any other song off Scorpion will get pushed. Drake has had God's Plan, Nice for What, Look Alive, Walk It Talk It, Yes Indeed, In My Feelings, Nonstop and even Bigger Than You pushed on radio so far this year. That's a lot of songs pushed in less than 8 months. |

I think DMTM will be a single in future, it's the most pop friendly song on Scorpion by far. But not now, probably next year if Drake doesn't end the Scorpion era too early.
