Seriously, what did bb ever do to hitsdd? Because it seems like they keep sending shots every week It's one thing to "understand the complexities of today's business" (which I think BB does, or at least does their best), but it's another to actually translate/interpret/integrate those complexities into the BB200 and the Hot 100. It's an increasingly more and more difficult market/industry to convey in BB's two big comprehensive charts. HDD. is. trying. it. and look petty.

I am starting to see the charts less and less "accurate" no one at my school plays IMF, calling the song, "annoying", "not good" and "old". I feel like the new songs trending are "FEFE", any Travis Scott, and ofc "Mooo" (hahaha honestly never gave this song a thorough listen before). Yeah, Billboard should just poll people at your school to compile the Hot 100 and leave it at that.

I was seeing the chart and then I paid attention to a thing: How much time Yes Indeed is stuck at 20s of Hot 100? It's always at #14 to #18 position EVERY CHART Its chart run so far is 49- 6-6-15-11-12-11-26-17-16-14-14-18-15-14. So, it spent 11 weeks between 10 and 20 if that's what you mean.

Pop goes up and down in cycles and has for 70 years: Top 40 radio ratings are much lower than 5 years before, the superstars of the last 10 years burned out, r&b ascends, a few years of weak unmemorable pop music and c-tier artists will be followed by years of a resurgence. 1953, 1961, 1972, 1981, 1992, 2001, 2016. PDs and culturalists just ride it out. 1961? I would think the resurgence in the 60's would've been 1964 considering that's when the Beatles and the British Invasion broke on to the American charts.

Does anybody have access to all of the indicator charts from January 2016 (or at least anytime before last August) onwards, including the top 20 recurrents? I’d appreciate if anyone was able to set me up with these charts as I need them for a project

It is interesting to look back on some of these, particularly the ones we were around for and aware of. I remember 2001 and can understand why pop radio was tired. I think the bubblegum pop sounds of the late 90s lead to the worst couple of years of pop music in the last 25 years. There were gems and classics but the pop and R&B ballads that dominated the airwaves were dreadful and so numerous. I occasionally listen to old episodes of Casey Kasem's top 40 countdowns (ranging from 1993 to 2003) and when I put on shows from 1999 and 2000s, there are so many songs I have no interest in ever hearing again. It wasn't until 2001 when hip-hop started to make its way in that it began to pick up again, along with the start of the acoustic pop/rock era. 2016 followed years of EDM-heavy music, much like 1981 followed years of disco. Not sure what would have led to the 1992 slump. But the cycles are interesting to watch and I think the next couple years will be fun - hopefully.

Eminem has longed peaked, Taylor didn't promote end game at all (I believe if she had it would of taken off) and future is just not comparable to the other three. drake is in his comerrical peak now, or close to it so a Sheehan and drake collab at the top his game would smash imo.

Future has never been one to dominate the charts and wasn't that particular single like the third or fourth off Taylor's album? I'm curious about the dominance the song would have on both streaming services and radio, both platforms that Ed does really well on, along with Drake. Drake's collabs have done really well this year, and we don't know how well or how bad a collab between him and Ed would go so I don't know how y'all are so confident that a collab between them would flop.

Eminem is only besting Drake lyrically this year and by extension, this decade. But that goes for damn near every rapper. He's a lyrical mastermind. But Eminem doesn't make better songs or better music than Drake. Eminem's albums this decade have been bashed to hell and back critically and artistically, this decade has been his worst, audiences and critics all agree on that. Of course, he's still the most successful rapper of all time, but Drake draws closer and closer to his achievements commercially with each passing year.
