(Idk where to post this but since it's the 13th biggest Hot 100 hit of all-time...) Closer has been certified DIAMOND!!! This is both incredible and funny considering the downward trajectory the career of the Chainsmokers has taken since then. Everything they've dropped since has performed terribly. Crazy how this music thing goes sometimes. Something Just Like This? The downwards trajectory really only started after that.

IMF could only lose if they overestimated his streaming figures of 40 million for this week ? do you think this is accurate ? I have In My Feelings with 42.7M but it's super hard to predict because 10.5M streams are coming from YouTube but not showing on YouTube's Charts (the "new" YouTube Insights).

fhas we have the YouTube, Spotify, Apple Music, iTunes and radio figures for the tracking week. Where do your predictions have IMF and GLY? Missing two days of radio, but that's not that important... IMF 36,900 (-10%) GLY 35,300 (-7%) I will be surprised if IMF is not #1 this week. Next week, it seems like it'll be close again and I don't have an early favorite. Thanks. I don't know about you, but I'm mad impressed at how great GLY has held so far. It deserves to be the next #1 imo. Don't particularly care for the song, but it's a bop and was a legit smash hit this summer. On the other hand, it's crazy that IMF might even still have a chance to remain #1 for an 11th week. It definitely did much better than most people thought it would.

Crazy how this music thing goes sometimes. Something Just Like This? The downwards trajectory really only started after that. Yeah, after Something Just Like This. They've released a couple of songs since then - this year especially - that have all flopped. I used the word "flopped" because said songs barely made a dent on the charts and I doubt passive mainstream radio listeners even know they released any songs because they didn't do all that well on radio either.

Also, what about Zayn Malik's solo career trajectory? Debut single debuted at #1 and fell out of the position the following week and EVERYTHING since then has underperformed. Dusk Till Dawn tried, but even then, it still underperformed. I look at some people's careers and it's crazy how someone can be up today and DOWN tomorrow. Sustaining a career really is harder than we all think.

Whenever it's close Billboard always underestimates Cardi. And Billboard usually posts an article if there's a new #1
Girls Like You has this

Whenever it's close Billboard always underestimates Cardi. And Billboard usually posts an article if there's a new #1 Girls Like You has this Not necessarily. They've been referencing that IMF has been dropping hard and that it'd be a battle between IMF and GLY for the #1 spot for three weeks now. The problem is that both songs are dropping hard, but IMF hasn't dropped hard enough for GLY to go #1 and I doubt GLY will be the #1 song come Monday. I don't see IMF being the #1 song in the next tracking week, but if GLY keeps dropping on radio and IMF's streams hold somehow, it may happen. It's just really weird. Usually, the #2 song keeps rising while the #1 song keeps dropping and that's not the case here because both songs have peaked in every metric. It's basically a battle of which song drops harder enough/holds enough to remain at #1 or go #1. Makes for an interesting, but equally frustrating chart watch.

GLY is locked for #1 in week 11 if the radio gap continues to expand at its current rate

I've seen recently that Disturbed's version of the classic song has been slowly replacing the original, it usually gets a sales bump every time there's a national tragedy. The title and lyrics relate to tragedy, so that's why people have been listening to it over 9/11. It was used in a viral video commemorating the lives lost during 9/11. I saw dozens of people sharing it over the last few days. All of TSOS's spikes can be traced back to viral events and television appearances. It's insane how often that song is used for everything. A few months back it had a spike just for being featured on a dance show and being used for a viral NASA video. Oh that explains it. Thanks!

To be quite honest they both donโt feel like a number 1 this week or last week even.. theyโre both very weak but hey if GLY can manage to get a week at 1 thatโd be very lucky for both cardi and maroon 5

is GLY possibly the most successful pop song released this year thus far ? feels like hip hop dominated the hot 100 this year and GLY has been the only pop song for at least the past 5 months to be in the top 5 !! many ppl may not realize but i think GLY grammy chances are very good in pop duo category !

I feel like the other pop song that was really successful is "no tears left to cry"

Well, it's not much bigger, but it's held at #2 for so long while IMF has been #1 that I wouldn't mind if it does go #1 after Monday. Drake would have broken the record for most weeks at #1 in a Calendar year by then and I'm guessing people would like to see another song reach the top position and since it's the song most primed to do that at this point...

6ix9ine has been shot. Reportedly in critcal condition. Couldn't find his artist discussion page so i posted here Lol. You know what the real damn shame is?That me, a person in 2018, took Akademiks as a valid source without verifying first. Need to take a seat and think about my life now Didn't Eminem tell you not to take Joe Budden and DJ Akademiks as reliable news sources on "Fall"? "And don't make me have to give it back to Akademiks"

I don't think GLY is going to make it to #1. If radio is what you're hinging everything on, pop radio will single-handedly thwart that with the way they apparently don't give a f**k about the horrible callouts for IMF and are reviving it when it (should have) already peaked.

Well, I think it's pretty much a done deal that IMF will remain #1 come Monday. IMF is dropping harder than GLY currently in overall radio and that might just be what gives GLY the upper hand in the next tracking week because their sales are pretty much the same, but IMF's streams are higher.

Today's pop update for IMF is about a +0.800 in audience. That keeps up, it'll negate any audience losses it gets at other formats. That would only widen the gap back up if IMF holds steady in overall audience while GLY continues to backslide.
