Pop music does not have the fresh factor due to all of it sounding the same. Now that's quite the opinion to have. Pretty sure many people think the same about hip-hop. The fact is that neither of those statements are true.

Pop music does not have the fresh factor due to all of it sounding the same. All sounds the same? Okay, all of these are pop artists. Carly Rae Jepsen Ariana Grande AKB48 BTS Justin Timberlake Kenshi Yonezu Echosmith You can also throw in synthetic acts like Alvin & The Chipmunks and Hatsune Miku (and Gorillaz if you think they fall under pop). There's obviously some similar sounds and crossover as they're all under the pop umbrella, but if you think all these artists' music sound the same, you're delusional.

Honestly, I think that we're living in the era of "thank u, next" It hasn't felt like music has mostly centered around one song for a few weeks in a long while. Idk if everyone will understand what I mean, but I just feel like everything right now is about "thank u, next" and not about any other song. Where is this coming from? I mean, the idea that "thank u, next" is being so talked about/heard? I'm out of the loop.

I'm out of the loop.Β It's spawned a meme of people putting three things together and claiming "one taught me pain, patience, love." The title has also become a meme, but I've seen the first one more. Didn't a news station even use the title as an article title?

Overexposure tends to kill pop careers. Strangely, it hasn't seemed to effect Urban acts in the last 20 years. I disagree. I would say it affected people like Akon, T-Pain, and even Lil' Wayne to some degree.

Happier will be #1 tomorrow only to be possibly dethroned before the end of the tracking week. Would like to see them get at least 1 though, how high did Pompeii reach?

The end of the tracking week is tonight though, so the numbers reported Monday by kworb are the closest mirror to Billboardβs ranks.

Girls Like You is dropping sharply because AC radio is being invaded by Xmas music.

Great to see Shallow still comfortably top 30 according to that prediction. Could be better, could be worse, but radio has decided to not give it a proper chance so this is what it'll get for now.

Thatβs pretty incredible for a slow soundtrack single from someone who has not gotten any airplay before lol
