Pre-Reveal Questionnaire1. Will "Strawberry Wine" win this rankdown? 2. What do you expect to see in the top 5/bottom 5? 3. Which studio album will lose all of its songs first (not including Father Christmas)? 4. Which non-album song ("Once Upon a December" and "Mamas Don't Let Your Babies...") will place highest? Where will it land? 5. Which album cut will last the longest ("I've Loved Enough to Know," "People Miss Planes," "You and Tequila," "Crying," or "Before You Left")? Where will it land? 6. Which 'Angel' song will place highest ("Angels Working Overtime" or "Angel Without a Prayer")? Where will it land? 7. Any additional thoughts/predictions?

1. Will "Strawberry Wine" win this rankdown?
yes, absolutely!
2. What do you expect to see in the top 5/bottom 5?
Top 5: "Strawberry Wine", "How Do I Get There", "Count Me In", "We Danced Anyway", and "Angels Working Overtime"
Bottom 5: "On The Road Again", "I'm Just A Girl", "Angel Without A Prayer", "Johnny's Snowman", "Sunny Day"
3. Which studio album will lose all of its songs first (not including Father Christmas)?
I think The Chain will be eliminated in full first, with an outside chance of The Story of My Life
4. Which non-album song ("Once Upon a December" and "Mamas Don't Let Your Babies...") will place highest? Where will it land?
As much as I think "Once Upon A December" SHOULD be highest, the inclusion of Sara Evans I think will carry "Mama's Don't..." to be higher and I think it'll land in the low teens (18-19)
5. Which album cut will last the longest ("I've Loved Enough to Know," "People Miss Planes," "You and Tequila," "Crying," or "Before You Left")? Where will it land?
I'm thinking that "I've Loved Enough To Know" will prevail and just miss the Top 10, though "People Miss Planes" and "You and Tequila" could as well. I do think that the fact that most people will be more familiar with Kenny Chesney's version of Y&T will hurt it here, though hopefully it doesn't
6. Which 'Angel' song will place highest ("Angels Working Overtime" or "Angel Without a Prayer")? Where will it land?
"Angels Working Overtime" better be Top 5, should have been the lead single from her second album (with "Absence of the Heart" as single #2).
7. Any additional thoughts/predictions?
Excited to see what everyone thinks of her music overall. I think her first album was definitely her best but her 2nd album was really good as well and hopefully the ranks showcase that. She has released some great music since even if it isn't as incredible as her first album was.
Also I hope people gave "Johnny's Snowman" a chance to not be in last place because I love that one.

1. Will "Strawberry Wine" win this rankdown?2. What do you expect to see in the top 5/bottom 5?Top: "Strawberry Wine", "We Danced Anyway", "There's No Limit", "How Do I Get There", and "Count Me In" or "Angels Working Overtime" Bottom: Christmas songs are all but a given so "Johnny's Snowman" and "Once Upon a December" along with her covers of "Crying" and "On the Road Again" ... and hopefully "You Still Shake Me" 3. Which studio album will lose all of its songs first? The Chain4. Which non-album song ("Once Upon a December" and "Mamas Don't Let Your Babies...") will place highest and where will it land? I'm going to guess the Sara Evans duet "Mamas Don't Let Your Babies..." as Christmas songs never do all that well 5. Which album cut will last the longest and where will it land? "I've Loved Enough to Know" inside the top 10 6. Which 'Angel' song will place highest and where will it land? "Angels Working Overtime" with a shot at the top 5 7. Any additional thoughts/predictions? Not really sure at all what to expect going into this as I honestly hadn't really kept up with her output since the I'm Just a Girl era...I discovered quite a few great songs along the way and found myself enjoying her second album more than I did back when it was released

1. Will "Strawberry Wine" win this rankdown? Is the sky blue? 2. What do you expect to see in the top 5/bottom 5?The top five singles from her debut album ("Strawberry Wine", "We Danced Anyway", "Count Me In", and "How Do I Get There") plus maybe "There's No Limit" for the top five. The bottom five will be kinda tricky to figure out imo; I think a multitude of her Christmas songs will end up there (hopefully "Johnny's Snowman" will be an exception to this claim) and maybe "Crying". 3. Which studio album will lose all of its songs first (not including Father Christmas)? The Chain. 4. Which non-album song ("Once Upon a December" and "Mamas Don't Let Your Babies...") will place highest? Where will it land?"Mamas Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up to Be Cowboys" close to the top 20? 5. Which album cut will last the longest ("I've Loved Enough to Know," "People Miss Planes," "You and Tequila," "Crying," or "Before You Left")? Where will it land?"I've Loved Enough to Know" near the top five ftw!!!!!!! 6. Which 'Angel' song will place highest ("Angels Working Overtime" or "Angel Without a Prayer")? Where will it land?"Angels Working Overtime"; both had to grow on me though. 7. Any additional thoughts/predictions? Most of these songs were discoveries for me, but I did find a couple of good ones. I hope Southern Way of Life does well!

1. Will "Strawberry Wine" win this rankdown? Yes
2. What do you expect to see in the top 5/bottom 5? Top 5: The Did I Shave My Legs For This singles Bottom 5: "I'm Just A Girl", "Sunny Day", "Crying", "Johnny's Snowman","On The Road Again"
3. Which studio album will lose all of its songs first (not including Father Christmas)? The Chain
4. Which non-album song ("Once Upon a December" and "Mamas Don't Let Your Babies...") will place highest? Where will it land? Ideally "Once Upon A December", but I can see Sara Evans pushing "Mama's..." to the top 15
5. Which album cut will last the longest ("I've Loved Enough to Know," "People Miss Planes," "You and Tequila," "Crying," or "Before You Left")? Where will it land? "I've Loved Enough To Know" (why was this not a single??? It was supposed to be the lead single) in the 6-10 range.
6. Which 'Angel' song will place highest ("Angels Working Overtime" or "Angel Without a Prayer")? Where will it land? "Angels Working Overtime" in the top 15
7. Any additional thoughts/predictions? I wouldn't be surprised if her debut album comprised the top 6 here.

just gonna point out that "Once Upon A December" is as much a Christmas song as Taylor Swift's "Back to December"...

Lol, yeah I thought about saying something too but I passed on it. I tried to ignore it but I really couldn't. Such a great song and it is probably gonna be tanked with people thinking it is a Christmas song. It's a fair point but I think the song "My Favorite Things" is a better example. Both are not Christmas songs, per se, but along the way they've become associated with the holiday. I'd even say a song like Alabama's "Angels Among Us" has become a holiday song as I hear it frequently on the radio as Christmas gets closer and it can also be found on many holiday albums. Deana's video for "Once Upon a December" also gives me Christmas vibes as well.

The distinction of coming in last place for the Deana Carter rankdown goes to the one and only single from The Chain, her album of classic covers that included a number of duets with the original artists, including this duet here on "On the Road Again" with Willie Nelson. Despite coming in last quite easily (only one other song came close to it in total point values), SHOOTER is the only participant to actually lose their #27 rank right off the bat. Only two posters were kind enough to narrowly sneak this one into their top 20s, but everyone else gave this one a collective pass when stacked up beside the rest of her discography. "On the road again I just can't wait to get on the road again The life I love is makin' music with my friends And I can't wait to get on the road again"

Yeah not a shocking first boot, I personally really like her on this classic song but this is exactly the type of song to go early in a rankdown.

Yeah, this song isn't bad, but definitely one of the weaker offerings in this list!

I actually was enjoying her arrangement of "On The Road Again" and then Willie Nelson's weak, ugly voice made an appearance and I was out.

Two things are sure when it comes to this RD:
"Strawberry Wine" will win.
I will lose big.
The end.

Next out and the only other song to give her Willie Nelson duet a run for last place is her one and only Christmas tune (#OnceUponADecemberAin'tXmas) from her Father Christmas record bites the dust in our bottom 2. "Johnny's Snowman" is a largely acoustic, low-key song about a boy praying for a white Christmas so he can build a snowman. A simple holiday song, it didn't stack up against the great country offerings featured in the rankdown, and thus wound up at the bottom of the pile. Only one person loses their first top 10 here (sorry, Cody Wants Out...). On the other hand, three #27 ranks melt away. "Thanks for the snow The snow for Johnny Now he can build A big snowman"

The clouds have cast a shadow on Deana's "Sunny Day," the first song to take a hit from her first indie record, The Story of My Life. On this record she explored a bit more of an alternative sound, which led to this rootsy Southern rock-leaning number. Perhaps a lyrical nod to her struggles with musical direction when she was signed to major labels in the mid 90s through the early 2000s, the song takes a laid back approach at doing one's thing whilst paying everyone else no mind. One person sees a major top 10 loss here (sorry, austin), but largely this one landed in the bottom 5 for most participants and received little fanfare. "I ain't picked up my guitar in 15 days Some music man didn't give a damn what I had to say But he's still in tears and playin' games that I don't play I'm not gonna let that son of a bitch take my love away Can't take my love away"

And just like that only four reveals in, everyone's prediction that The Chain would be the first album era to lose all of its representing songs came true (to be fair it was at a disadvantage having only two in the first place, however). "Crying," a Roy Orbison cover, follows in the footsteps of its one and only single that wound up in last-place, receiving minimal support in the rankdown. This rather breezy, easy listening number did manage to rack up three top 10s, all of which came near the end of the submission process, giving it a last-minute boost, though it didn't carry it far as it was weighed down by several bottom 5s, including the last place for Cody Wants Out...'s list. For me, The Chain easily has the least replay value among her albums, but "Crying" has always stood out as one of the brighter moments on the album, though even still it landed in my bottom 5 when stacked up against the bulk of her own original material. "But, darling, what can I do? For you don't love me And I'll always be crying over you Crying over you"

"That's Just Me," the second of two singles from Deana's most recent and fully self-released project, 2013's Southern Way of Life, rounds out the bottom 5 for the rankdown. Starting with this song, point values between songs get a lot closer together. In fact, this song actually tied with the next reveal to come, but it lost the tie-breaker to wind up in the bottom 5 here due to it having a lower highest rank. With only one top 10 for this one, it's no great loss for most of y'all, but it also only wipes out a spot in three individual's bottom 5s. Most slotted this one somewhere near the mid-to-upper teens, indicating neither high passion nor great distaste for it. "Heaven ainβt behind some pearly gate And you donβt have to die just to get a little taste"
