I hope either ZEZE or the 6ix9ine/Kanye/Nicki track goes #1 the week Mariah goes #2. That would be an iconic meltdown for the ages

I know this won't affect this chart, but since there isn't a new thread yet i'll post it: Rihanna's just registered two songs

I hope either ZEZE or the 6ix9ine/Kanye/Nicki track goes #1 the week Mariah goes #2. That would be an iconic meltdown for the ages And why exactly do you hope for that? "All I Want for Christmas Is You" is one of the most iconic songs out there, and it being #1 would feel earned. And chart-wise it would be one of the most remarkable feats ever.

Just a heads up on the tracking periods for Christmas music this year:
12/01/2018 Streaming/Sales: November 16-November 22 Airplay: November 19-November 25
12/08/2018 Streaming/Sales: November 23-November 29 Airplay: November 26-December 2
12/15/2018 Streaming/Sales: November 30-December 6 Airplay: December 3-December 9
12/22/2018 Streaming/Sales: December 7-December 13 Airplay: December 10-December 16
12/29/2018 Streaming/Sales: December 14-December 20 Airplay: December 17-December 23 (peak for Christmas songs)
01/05/2019 Streaming/Sales: December 21-December 27 (peak for Christmas songs) Airplay; December 24-December 30 (only 2 days of airplay for Christmas songs)
For comparisons, here's what would happen if Christmas fell on each day:
Sunday 3 days of sales/streaming tracking (December 23-25 + 4 days past Christmas) 7 days of airplay (December 19-25) Pretty good odds of high peaks! While it loses 4 days of tracking in sales/streaming, the peaks would be included, as Christmas music is purchased/streamed most on Christmas Eve/Christmas Day.
Monday 4 days of sales/streaming tracking (December 22-25 + 3 days past Christmas) 1 day of airplay (December 25 + 6 days past Christmas) Fairly crappy. The sales/streaming period is strong, which will certainly boost a peak, but only one day of airplay, and airplay for Christmas music tends to peak the 23-24 anyway, making the previous week strong for airplay as it would be December 18-24, however the sales/streaming period would be weaker, but not terrible. This would mean Christmas songs would likely have a lower peak, but a stable peak between 2 weeks.
Tuesday (this year) 5 days of sales/streaming tracking (December 21-December 25 + 2 days past Christmas) 2 days of airplay (December 24-December 25 + 5 days past Christmas) A decent year for peaks, though not perfect. The sales/streaming period is strong, but airplay is still very weak with the bulk being the week before. This results in two strong weeks of peaks, with a slightly higher peak on the week of Christmas.
Wednesday 6 days of sales/streaming (December 20-December 25 + 1 day past Christmas) 3 days of airplay (December 23-December 25 + 4 days past Christmas) A strong year for peaks. Sales/streaming is nearly perfect and just under half of the airplay tracking period is Christmas themed, with the two biggest days falling in it.
Thursday 7 days of sales/streaming (December 19-December 25) 4 days of airplay (December 22-December 25 + 3 days past Christmas) The BEST year for Christmas songs. A full week of sales and streams and over half the week of airplay with the peak of it as well!
Friday 1 day of sales/streaming (December 25 + 6 days past Christmas) 5 days of airplay (December 21-December 25 + 2 days past Christmas) This would be another year with mediocre peaks, split between two weeks as the peak for sales/streaming and airplay would be on two separate weeks.
Saturday 2 days of sales/streaming (December 24-December 25 + 5 days past Christmas) 6 days of airplay (December 20-December 25 + 1 day past Christmas) A bit stronger than Friday, but again, bulks are being split between two weeks, so two weeks of decent peaks.
So, ideally, you want Christmas to fall on a Thursday for optimization of Christmas data. Unfortunately, Christmas does not fall on a Thursday until 2025. The last time Christmas fell on a Thursday was 2014, which was before Billboard even had this tracking period. So 2025 will be a great year since it'll be the first time of optimization for Christmas songs in the streaming era.

So for example, the Friday scenario would include: Sales/streaming Dec 18-24 Airplay Dec 21-27 Which would actually probably the best opportunity for a high peak.

No, I'm only showing the week on the day Christmas falls on for sales/streaming. If Christmas falls on a Friday, like it does in 2020, it would appear on the chart dated January 2, 2021, and the tracking period for it would be December 25-31 for sales/streaming and December 28-January 1. So, yes, I did mess up on the airplay dates for Friday (and probably Saturday too), but the scenario you describe is the week before Christmas, which looking at it is another great year for a peak and indeed probably better than a Thursday. So, yay, it's coming up in 2 years rather than 7.

For most of the year it looked like only 2 songs were going to peak at #2 this year (Meant to Be and Nonstop), and now it looks like it will be 7 or more.

This would be a great analysis but your time periods are only right for the Mon-Thurs scenarios. The other days, Dec 25’s airplay and sales/steaming would fall on different chart weeks. So, yay, it's coming up in 2 years rather than 7. I’m not trying to be mean or anything — I thought it was great to see you work that out. But due to SPS/airplay being 3 days off, that means only 4 days of the week will Christmas overlap, so for Fri-Sun Christmas would be over 2 tracking weeks and would look as follows: Friday SPS: Dec 18-24 / Airplay: Dec 21-27 SPS: Dec 25-31 / Airplay: Dec 28-Jan 3 Saturday SPS: Dec 17-23 / Airplay Dec 20-26 SPS: Dec 24-30 / Airplay Dec 27-Jan 2 Sunday SPS: Dec 16-22 / Airplay Dec 19-25 SPS: Dec 23-29 / Airplay Dec 26-Jan 1

Does well on the chart for a year Deemed king of pop Would be like saying Iggy Azalea was the Queen of Rap because of 2014. Did Iggy have two triple-platinum albums, 11 Platinum/Multi-Platinum singles and global solo arena tour in 2014?

If Iggy was the Queen of Rap, she would still have hits today and of course be more critically acclaimed.

I think Zeze is better than All I Want for Christmas is You, so that's why I am hoping for that. Also Zeze video is out.

For comparisons, here's what would happen if Christmas fell on each day: [...] So, ideally, you want Christmas to fall on a Thursday for optimization of Christmas data. Unfortunately, Christmas does not fall on a Thursday until 2025. The last time Christmas fell on a Thursday was 2014, which was before Billboard even had this tracking period. So 2025 will be a great year since it'll be the first time of optimization for Christmas songs in the streaming era. ...this is giving me flashbacks

TRAVIS SCOTT ABOUT TO GET A #1 BITCHES Lmao don't count it yet. It still has Without me and Thank u, next to worry about. Both aren't the strongest songs out there, and thank u, next doesn't have the massive streaming numbers it had when it debuted. If the video does well enough, ZEZE is #1
