Not a bad cover, but this will NEVER be Dolores. Not to mention I’m not sure if that “2018” lyric change is pretty tasteless as hell.

Yea SS(G) would have been an easy top 20. Wouldn't have treated Solara too well, though (but it may still be in my top 50 in Active lol)

85: Happy Hour - Come on, this was alright. I mean, it's not as good as "King of the World", but it's still better than many songs here.
84: Say Amen (Saturday Night): I was expecting this to be out later, but here we are. Can I get an Amen?
83: Nevermind: Decent, but could be less repetitive.
82: Can't Deny Me: Another band who should be doing much better than this, and the short chart run is evidence of that.
81: Everything is Alright: It's just there. S.O.S. shits on this.
80: Thought Contagion - Not their best, but I'll take this after coming off "Dig Down". The hi-hats are useless, though.
79: World Gone Mad - It's okay but this got ruined by the falestto and some of the lyrics. Great vocals in the chorus though.
78: Connected by Love - Worst. Jack. White. Solo. Single. To. Date.
77: White Flag - And there goes my last bottom 10, I believe. Glad this generic "motivational" anthem is out early. "Baby" is even worse and I would have ranked that shit even lower. "Dream" is fine, though.
76: Natural - At least it's better than "Believer"?
75: Happier - Not bad but it has no place on Alt.
74: Two High - This has not held very well, but I wished it still did a bit better.
73: I Love You, Will You Marry Me - This was a jam, but I would've tanked "Medication".
72: Line of Sight - And another of my 40s songs gets out. This was pleasant.
71: Zombie - Not better than the original, and there were many better active songs than this.
The above comment applies to "Come Together", which I like more. "Alfie's Song..." is decent and I would have ranked it higher than "I Miss Those Days". "Silvery Sometimes" would have been in my top 30.

Bad Wolves - ZombieThis one made my weekly Metal chart, but I'm not too keen on Covers of songs you will never be abbe to perfect on, but it was for an honorable cause, so yeah..go Bad Wolves. This is great EDM, and this is the kinda EDM I would be totally fine with on Alternative. Great song. I definitely underranked this one. upopular opinion, but I need any EDM on Alternative chart. I don't care for it, but it does have its place. I just don't think it belongs on Alternative format. |

Gary Clark Jr.'s "Come Together" is better than the covers that did make the cut here, but still feels kinda pointless and can't compare to the original.
Unpopular opinion but "Alfie's Song" might actually be my favorite from Bleachers, give or take an "I Wanna Get Better".
And speaking of unpopular opinions.... sorry, but Billy Corgan still hasn't won me back over with SS(G).

I agree that ODESZA shouldn't be played on Alt, they're primarily a live act but songs like Higher Ground and Across The Room are still rather fitting.

I honestly don't get what's so bad about "Happy Hour". I actually think it's one of Weezer's better songs from the past 20 years.
I agree that "Can't Deny Me" is far from Pearl Jam's best but I still think it deserved better than bottom 20.
"Thought Contagion" is overhated. At first, I didn't care too much for it either but over time it has grown on me.
"Silvery Sometimes" would've been a lock for my top 10.
