Really? I come back to Pulse to work on this Rankdown only to see that it's started already. I guess your mom should have paid the internet bill.

Haha, I'm still doing pretty bad with closeness/top 50's/Bottom 10's lol. But not dead last, at least not yet!

The "Do I have more Top 10 or Bottom 10 songs left" round: 85. Happy Hour---In all honesty, this was pretty meh. I'd take Thank God for Girls over this. Repeat, Thank God for Girls > Happy Hour. 84. Say Amen (Saturday Night)---I feel like High Hopes did this sort of thing better, but there's something raw, almost primal about Say Amen that appealed to me. Unlike Barely Singing Mendes, I get the appeal of Brendon Urie. 83. Nevermind---Glad this one went out this early. As Daryl pointed out, those lyrics were very repetitive. I found the electronica less grating and more droning like I needed to take a nap afterwards. 82. Can't Deny Me---Wait, this is Pearl Jam? We placed a Pearl Jam song in the bottom 20? Whoa! Even the weakest Pearl Jam tunes end up in the top half. Will agree with those that thought this was decent but a far cry from their best. 81. Everything is Alright---This was one of those tunes that proved to be a solid first listen. I'll agree that Sawed Off Shotgun should do way the hell better in 2019. 80. Thought Contagion---Wasn't expecting Muse again this soon. This felt like other tunes they've done, for better and worse. 79. World Gone Mad---Outside of the admittedly decent chorus, this song did nothing for me. 78. Connected By Love---The right Jack White song goes first. This felt like three or four different tunes that never got together. Over and Over and Over Again did a similar thing correctly and did way better. 77. White Flag---Cancel this rankdown immediately! Nah, I guess I kinda get it? But then again, you should know I fell in love with this from when it first happened. It was my number 1 of the year at one point and it's still at number 4 now. Bishop has some powerful pipes. But yeah, Baby would have been tanked by me as well. 76. Natural---Second top 10 goes down, but I'm less shocked. Felt like John Imagine Dragons had a point to his shouting and the music felt more solid than that of their previous album. I think this was their best single since On Top of the World. 75. Happier---I liked this one as well, but not sure what Alternative saw in this. It felt too poppy for it. Pleasant and smooth as hell, though. 74. Two High---I don't get the hype for this one. Hearing this did very well in AAA doesn't mean much to me. It felt OK, but generic. 73. I Love You, Will You Marry Me---Finally! As bad as I heard some people complaining about other EDM numbers, this one annoyed the living piss out of me. The voice, the beat, the music...ugh to all. Just go away. 72. Line of Sight---This was one of those EDM tunes, but I just found it kind of vague and unmemorable. 71. Zombie---Good grief! Third top 10 to fall and I thought this had a while to go. I laugh at the comparisons of Five Finger Death Punch; at least Bad Wolves are trying. In a case of making the song their own (we can only speculate about the one never recorded with Delores), this was far superior to the going through the motions of Weezer's Africa. In some ways, it gets close to Disturbed's The Sound of Silence. But compare it to FFDP all you want. But wait, there's more: If you have had fun ranking Robert DeLong, Bishop Briggs, Imagine Dragons and Cold War Kids, maybe you should give my rankdown a shot. It's due February 2 and probably has some songs you'd enjoy. Check it out!

Georgia font time! Let's do this thing.
We kick off the night with a rather unexciting reveal. Nobody ranked this in their top 10 - heck, only one person even had it in their top 20, and just barely. As you'd expect from a song with the 6th lowest SD, not many people hated this song, with just one bottom 10 (and four more bottom 20s), although that bottom 10 isn't just any kind of bottom 10...

A song so lacking in excitement that nobody could bring themselves to rank it top 15. Sounds about right.
But you know who could rank it REALLY low, though? LBTrocks, that's who.

Aside from DTTM I've always had a soft spot for the Bleachers. I liked the old-school psychedelic/baroque vibes of this song.

"I Miss Those Days" was inoffensive and rather pleasant. The chorus is a bit grating, but love the bells and horns.

Let's amp things up with #69. Two people lose top 10s, one losing their first. Four more people lose top 20s. Of its 12 bottom 20s, half were bottom 10s (including two clearers), with one bottom 5. This song finished at its lowest position after being inside the top 50 for multiple lists throughout the first half of the submission process.

Time to post what would have been an easy top 3 (probably #1) in this rankdown for me.
This has grown on me since its initial run, but it still pales in comparison to most of their other work.

This was a really smooth and chill (don't like using that word but I can't think of many other words here) song, don't get some of the extreme hate for it at all. Not sure why it's out already while some gutter trash (*cough* One Foot *cough*) still lingers around, at least.
(btw I also prefer "Violet City" to this, and I was its third highest ranker)

I've had a mixed relationship with this. Absolutely despised it at first, then loved it to death, gave it the silent treatment, and now like it again. I blame the chorus.

#68 brings us a first for this rankdown: no bottom 10s! You can infer that this song didn't elicit too many strong feelings, with only five bottom 20s, and 19 top half ranks. Of the top half ranks, one is a top 10, and only one more is a top 20. We ranked this artist in 2017.

Contrary to what it looks like, Imagine Dragons had a third song chart on Alt radio this year!
My condolences, Mylo13 💜 .
