HH can fight for #1 depending on the next updates on streaming, the video is getting some traction now too. Stable on sales and airplay. I have a feeling this will be a #2 peak song.
Is there a new big release coming ?

I know this probably doesn't go here, but does radio still count as much as it did in 2018? If radio payola still exist then yes.

Rooting for Halsey and then Sunflower for a bit and then please Rihanna?
And more females at #1 overall this year please? At least Cardi, Camila and Ariana reached #1 last year, but I want our pop ladies to rule the year.

I'm here for females reaching #1 but only if they're called Rihanna, Cardi B or Lady Gaga.

If High Hopes goes #1 would that make Brendon Urie the first openly LGBT+ person to reach the top?

If High Hopes goes #1 would that make Brendon Urie the first openly LGBT+ person to reach the top? Elton John came out in 1976 and he had some number one hits after that (Candle in the Wind, Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me), so no, not the first.

Lady gaga has always been openly LGBT lmao. George michael has like 11 #1s so I'm sure he came out when at least 1 of them was topping. Cardi b has been openly bisexual as well. Long before her LHH days.

I don't think it's a thing any more though, I mean Sam Smith has couple of gigantic hits and he has been very openly gay from the start. It's just tough luck that Stay with Me didn't reach #1 (2 weeks at #2).

While people suspected with George, I don't think his sexuality was truly known to the public until the late 90s with the bathroom incident. That was after pretty much all of his big hits in the U.S., and more so certainly after all of his #1s.

Is Going Bad getting airplay/a video soon? That song is amazing and is very deserving at going number one at some point

Didnβt Elton John come out in the early 90s? George Michael came out in the mid 90s prior to the release of Older (the album with Fastlove) I believe.
I forget if Sam Smith hit #1 but I feel like heβs the only example of a gay male that comes to mind who hit it big after coming out rather than coming out after becoming popular. Then you have Olly Alexander and Troye Sivan but they havenβt broken the mainstream as much. Women have had better luck. Melissa Etheridge, for example.

For anyone interested, the BuzzAngle Music 2018 Report is out:
The one from Nielsen, I'd think will come out sometime next week.

Post 2010 #1s by people who identify as LGBT+:
01/02/2010 - Kesha - Tik Tok (9 weeks) 03/06/2010 - Fergie (as part of BEP) - Imma Be (2 weeks) 02/26/2011 - Lady Gaga - Born this Way (6 weeks) 03/17/2012 - Janelle MonΓ‘e - We Are Young (6 weeks) 09/28/2013 - Miley Cyrus - Wrecking Ball (3 weeks) (although the interview where she "came out" is from 2015). 01/18/2014 - Kesha - Timber (3 weeks) 08/06/2016 - Sia - Cheap Thrills (4 weeks) 09/03/2016 - Halsey - Closer (12 weeks) 10/07/2017 - Cardi B - Bodak Yellow (3 weeks) 07/07/2018 - Cardi B - I Like It (1 week) 09/29/2018 - Cardi B - Girls Like You (7 weeks)
I may have missed someone.
I think Sam Smith is probably the LGBT+ male who has come the closest to #1 recently when "Stay With Me" reached #2. A random one I remember is MNEK reaching #13 with Zara Larsson on "Never Forget You".
