LLLMMMMAAAAAAAOOOO, desperate AF! Oh, let's release a lyric video for a song that is almost 2 years old. IDK what's wrong with sharing a record with someone? Not to mention that this record will be broken again.

This kind of reminds me of when Cardi B released the “I Like It” lyric video the week that it was predicted to be a close race to #1, despite already having the music video + sent to radio a whole month before.
The difference is that I Like It was still at its height of popularity and had only been around for a couple months, vs Girls Like You where it is already on its way out, and has been around for a loooong time; it’s so obviously desperate it makes me laugh.

I don't see it as desperate? If I was in their position I would want to break a record as well and do everything in my power to. Not to mention the timing with Valentine's day was pretty good. They should've discounted the song on iTunes as well though.

What are they desperate for? They just broke the record for longest #1 at radio in the 21st century. They have tied the record for most weeks in top 10. They’re 10 weeks at #1 on AC, almost 2 billion views on YouTube, where is the desperation?

Desperate for this record? Can anything be natural today? They can force this to 40 weeks in the top 10, but this is not even close to Uptown Funk, Closer and Shape Of You. I really liked the song, but I'm really sick of it now.

I'm interested in seeing the first day Spotify numbers for 365, it's down to #6 on iTunes and dark red.

I'd say records are kind of irrelevant in the streaming era. Next year we could have a song with 40 weeks in top 10. 2024 could have a year in top 10.

Speaking of records, IF "breathin" manages to sneak another week in (aka collapse to just above #50) this week, Ariana Grande will tie Cardi B as women with most simultaneous Hot 100 hits, each boasting 13. Ariana is almost certainly breaking that most simultaneous Top 40 hits (among women) record though, probably with 11 or 10.

I still can't believe how AWESOME EASTSIDE is. It will be #3 on Radio chart and probably #1 on Pop (record) this week.
Please Me at #71? Honestly, I think this will be #5 next week, behind Sunflower, Without Me, break up... and 7 rings.

The biggest payola since LWYMMD (33M). I was driving for 2 hours yesterday and heard this song 5 times on the same station.

The biggest payola since LWYMMD (33M). I don't know if that's really it. Top 40 radio is clearly starved for new releases from superstars, and something to break up all the Ariana songs they currently have in rotation. The dominance of trap has left Top 40 cold, and even they must be getting sick of playing Girls Like You and High Hopes at this point. New Bruno & Cardi is just what they needed.

The competition is, you have to listen to "Sweet But Psycho" as much as possible. The one who listens the most, gets an iPhone.
