Releasing a successful single this time and following it with another blockbuster release would give Taylor the edge in terms of ARTIST OF THE DECADE award. I think, she doesn't need to wait until the latter half of the year to release new music, she ended rep era way sooner.

I really think she was doing a countdown to a release but they found out jonas was releasing with all that promo so she and her team postponed rather than have some of the attention being diverted from her new era by the jonas stuff.
