I don't know her first album and Fearless was...OK but a little too simple for me. I get she was young, but between the simple music and weak vocals, I never cared about her til Speak Now. Red was when I started to stan, as far as not having any skip tracks on an album and the eclectic styles. If she wants to redo her first 2 albums, I would be happy to listen.

"Lover" is holding up quite well on Spotify. I expected it to drop much faster.

"Lover" is holding up quite well on Spotify. I expected it to drop much faster. It's doing amazingly well on Apple too, sitting pretty at #33 with 17 Young Thug songs ahead of it.

It has nearly amassed (@ 11 million) the 12 million streams on Youtube in 5 days that "The Archer" has in a month.

I've been calling for pop versions of her older material forever, so if that's something she is interested in doing I am fully available for that Can you imagine vice-versa for her pop stuff? I'm always here for different versions of any of my faves song so I'm honestly down for anything!

I think it’d be cool for her to make her own “greatest hits: reimagined” and redo lots of her catalogue. Like other said, get Katy on Bad Blood, update I Knew You Were Trouble, pop version of Love Story, that WANEGBT mashup from the rep tour, etc.
I would buy that in a heartbeat.

I like this idea...I mean, let’s be honest, people are still going to want the original versions of her songs. She’s not going to be able to capture the same magic...she may come close, but it won’t be the same. It would smart for her to update as you suggest in a new way.

Of course. Japanese edition has been released already. I’m waiting for getting my copy of JP edition soon.

This is a friendly reminder. Please, avoid to ask about the album or post a streaming link until it's officially released. Thanks!

I'd be particularly interested in views on the Dixie Chicks track, for anyone who's heard it. :)
And, I don't think anything could be called a "leak" when it's become commercially available in at least one territory.

Every song I've listened to so far has been better than ME! and YNTCD.
She really does pick the worst singles.

I am five new tracks in and what the hell were they thinking with those singles? ESPECIALLY "Me!"? And how the hell did no sessioner comment on the absolute genuis of Americana and the Heartbreak Prince? So Lana/Lorde. So amazing!

For those listening- I would think "Soon You'll Get Better" is country, though any other country-sounding/-leaning tracks on the album?

^Thanks, austin. Is that one a goodie?
If any tracks other than the DC track and "Lover" qualify as "old-school" Taylor, feel free to share. :)

I am getting Lana Del Rey Born To Die vibes on quite a few songs. This album is immediately better than Reputation for me. Between the Melodrama/Born To Die vibes, Jesus. This album is really incredibly. Only skip for me was "Paper Rings" and even that will likely grow on me.
I am just blown away. This is so much better than I was hoping.

If any tracks other than the DC track and "Lover" qualify as "old-school" Taylor, feel free to share. :) I am not sure anything else feels like old school Taylor (my favorite album is Speak Now and those two songs give me that same vibe) but "Cornelia Street" maybe comes close lyrically. I love it. Overall, though, its definitely the Taylor we all love - and not the 2017 version. This album is amazing. The only track I hate is "False God" and that's mostly because it sounds like something that could have been on rep sonically, and I mostly want to pretend that era didn't exist. My other least favorites are two of the ones we already have ("Archer" and "You Need to Calm Down").

"Miss America and The Heartbreak Prince" is my favorite. Like an updated, more melodic "Tennis Court". Follwed by "Cruel Summer". In**ckingcredible. She always delivers and this time better than ever.
Skips for me (out of the entire 18): "Me", "Paper Rings", It's Nice To Have A Friend".

So curious to see the critic reviews for this. It has to end up higher than reputation on Metacritic.

Sounds good, all.
I couldn't get into much on reputation, outside of "New Year's Day." I do enjoy the pre-1989 material more overall, though I do like "Blank Space," "Style," etc.

Omg I can't listen to the album right now but all the reactions have been positive so I'm excited to get to it when I get home.

"It's Nice To Have A Friend" isn't fantastic or anything but again, the sessioners have no idea what they are talking about. It is not the worst here and the choir isn't overpowering.

Agree, I was expecting the kids choir to be awful but it's barely noticeable (and is it even kids?). It's a useless song that could have been left off, but it's not horrible.

This is a great album..Tough to rank with the other albums but it is miles above Reputation. "False God" what a song. The Dixie Chicks Collaboration is okay. "Afterglow" is also nice.
