Obsessed with Style and it's video. Easily some of the best of her career yup.

"Style" is a pop masterpiece and one of her all time best singles.
1989 was truly blessed by having strong single choices throughout. Disclaimer: I just love "Shake It Off" and its production is perfectly upbeat and energetic, and the spoken bridge works better than it should. Meanwhile, even if "Bad Blood" is a mixed bag as a song, the video generated enough hype to make it a hit - might be the only dud singles-wise though, especially due to the unfortunate connection with the whole childish feud with Katy Perry.

Just a random thought but after this era as she’s re-recording her albums (if she’s even doing all of that) I want her to do some dance/edm stand-alone singles. One of my favorite songs are Dancing With Our Hands Tied so like she needs some more of those in her discography. (Work with Martin Garrix, Marshmello, DJ Snake,)

I was listening to Tame Impala's new album and god I wish she did something like this for her next record... Indie Rock/Pop would suit her so well. Even though they are great, I'm tired of OOTW, Getway Cars and Cruel Summers. It's time she evolves her sound to something more mature and progressive.

I think it's time she goes the indie rock route a bit. I could see her doing something very St Vincent. Some of Lover is reminiscent of St Vincent's last album, probably because they were both partly produced by Jack A, but she could go even further with this sound.

Top three on the album not up for debate. Deserves to be some sort of a single.

Afterglow should've been the 4th single. It's no where near my favourite from the album but it's the most inoffensive and a super easy listen.

Has there been any rumblings on whether she’s adding more “Lover Fest” dates?

Lover spends another week in the top 10 and Red spends another week on the charts.

Her staying power though! We've been listening to these albums ever since they came out and they're a staple in our lives so it doesn't sound as crazy as it is but selling enough to remain in the weekly top album chart for 5 straight years? Wow.

270 weeks...has 1989 ever left the chart?! Legend if not! It's only fallen out once I believe! The most current chart (the chart dated 2/22/2020) had its chart week start on February 7th, 2020 which comes 275.5 weeks after October 27, 2014 which is the release date for 1989. I think Billboard had a short chart week in 2015 when they were changing the tracking week to accommodate the new Friday release schedule - so 276 chart weeks. So 1989 was only off for 6 weeks ever since it was released. I don't remember if that was a 6 week-run of not charting or if it was at separate moments but my very blurry memory thinks it's only fallen out once too.

Not that any of that is unbelievable, and I know lawyer fees can be insanely expensive, but...would it really bankrupt Kesha? Is it THAT high?

Is it THAT high? a) I think the costs can be really high especially if she had to pay additional money for breach of contract or settlements. I think she spent a fair bit on PR too. b) Dr. Luke's contracts are pretty shitty, so she probably hasn't made much money from that. The vast majority of her career income has probably come from touring. c) Dr. Luke might even owe her royalties?

About half a year in, personal album ranking stands as:
1. Cornelia Street 2. Lover 3. Death by a Thousand Cuts 4. Afterglow 5. Miss Americana & the Heartbreak Prince 6. The Archer 7. Daylight 8. It’s Nice to Have a Friend 9. False God 10. Soon You’ll Get Better 11. Cruel Summer 12. Paper Rings 13. The Man 14. Me! 15. London Boy 16. I Think He Knows 17. I Forgot That You Existed 18. You Need to Calm Down
Me! is saved by its verses. London Boy is hindered by its verses. ITHK and IFTYE are hindered by their choruses. YNTCD is hindered by everything and I’m still shocked it had any sort of lasting impact. The rest are all great to fantastic.

In 2020 it’s moved about 159,000 according to Hits which isn’t the same as Nielsen but not far off, so total US SPS is around 2,350,000.
