Seems like y'all's fave False God is not the fave of the GP but...Pulse v the GP is a thing. The tracklist order severely influenced the placements. False God remains immaculate

Re: discussion about Taylor as a gay icon from a few weeks back:
I think this album could win over the gays (as a collective). I Think He Knows, False God, and I almost wonder how The Man might work as a drag performance.

www.billboard.com/articles/business/chart-beat/8528903/every-song-taylor-swift-lover-charts-hot-100All 18 Songs From Taylor Swift's New Album 'Lover' Chart On the Billboard Hot 1009/3/2019 by Gary Trust Swift rewrites the record for the most simultaneous Hot 100 entries for a female artist. Taylor Swift charts all 18 songs from her new album Lover on the Billboard Hot 100 (dated Sept. 7). While three songs continue their chart runs and one re-enters, 14 debut, pushing her total to 95 career entries. With her haul, Swift rewrites the record for the most simultaneous charted Hot 100 titles among women, as her 18 songs pass the 14 that Billie Eilish tallied on April 13, the week that Eilish's album When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? bowed atop the Billboard 200. Among all acts, Drake has charted the most Hot 100 hits in a single week: 27, on July 14, 2018, when his album Scorpion started at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. As previously reported, Swift's Lover launches at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 867,000 equivalent album units (679,000 in album sales), according to Nielsen Music. Here's a look at Swift's 18 songs on the latest Hot 100; all are debuts except where noted: No. 4, "You Need to Calm Down" (up from No. 14; peaked at No. 2, June 29) No. 10, "Lover" (up from No. 19, new peak) No. 11, "ME!," feat. Brendon Urie (up from No. 58; peaked at No. 2, May 11) No. 23, "The Man" No. 28, "I Forgot That You Existed" No. 29, "Cruel Summer" No. 38, "The Archer" (re-entry; new peak) No. 45, "Paper Rings" No. 49, "Miss Americana & The Heartbreak Prince" No. 51, "I Think He Knows" No. 57, "Cornelia Street" No. 62, "London Boy" No. 63, "Soon You'll Get Better," feat. Dixie Chicks No. 67, "Death by a Thousand Cuts" No. 75, "Afterglow" No. 77, "False God" No. 89, "Daylight" No. 92, "It's Nice to Have a Friend" Swift's 18 simultaneous Hot 100 entries surpass her prior-best 11 that she charted on the list dated Nov. 13, 2010, when her album Speak Now opened atop the Billboard 200. Likewise, her 14 Hot 100 debuts mark a new personal high, topping her 10 arrivals concurrent with the chart start of Speak Now. Swift triples the Hot 100 output of her album prior to Lover, as six songs total charted from her 2017 set Reputation. Now with 95 career Hot 100 appearances, Swift ties Chris Brown for the eighth-most in the chart's 61-year history. Among women, Swift trails only Nicki Minaj (104). The Glee Cast leads all acts with 207 entries, with runner-up Drake closing in on the mark (204). All charts dated Sept. 7 will update tomorrow (Sept. 4) on Billboard.com.

YNTCD acoustic sounds a lot like WANEGBT It REALLY does. It has, like, the same tempo and flow. Someone needs to mashup acoustic versions of both songs — it would sound really good and they’d fit pretty well, thematically, and tell a kind of hilarious story of a former lover who needs to calm down because they are never ever getting back together after his homophobic diatribes online.

After listening to the album "Lover" a lot over the past two weeks since it has been out, The weakest tracks still stand out to be "Me!" and "You Need To Calm Down". "Miss Americana & The Heartbreak Prince","Afterglow","False God" and of course "Cruel Summer" are the best on the album."Paper Rings" also a underrated track.
My Rankings of Taylor's Albums- 1.Speak Now 2.1989 3.Fearless 4.Red 5.Lover 6.Reputation 7.Debut
Yeah I have it ranked #5 but it says a lot about Taylor when her 5th best is a great album. Can't say that about other artists.

I am pleasantly surprised that there were not more doom and gloom articles about this album not hitting one million in its first week. I thought some outlets would gravitate to spinning this as a "underperformance" (Obviously, not a real underperformance, but people are always reaching when discussing Taylor, or give her unrealistic expectations.
All in all, I am happy that it got such high numbers. Like the Forbes article posted earlier stated, I believe this album should have longer legs than Reputation. If Taylor plays her cards right, I think Lover can last all through the holidays. The Man can be a early winter/spring hit. Cruel Summer can rule the airways over the summer. Afterglow can close out the album.
I am eagerly awaiting to see how this album performs.

I don't understand why a lot of folks think "Cruel Summer" has to be relegated to a summer release. We not allowed to talk about summer outside of summer or? lol I think it should go next personally.

It's hard to spin a release that moves more copies than than any album since the artists previous album as an underperformance. If there will still artists capable of seeing 500k+ physical apart from here, you may be able to make that argument, but the fact is that there aren't more than a handful who could even hope to. She's still at the top of the heap when it comes to sales, so shitting on her for not hitting an arbitrary number while praising people who couldn't hope to move a fraction of her figure is going to be seen as disingenuous at best.

“I Forgot That You Existed” getting a higher peak than “Cruel Summer” just because it is the first track Maybe people just liked it better. I bought it over "Cruel Summer" because I already have many songs by Taylor that sounds like "Cruel Summer" "Cruel Summer" is good but not what many think. It sounds like "Delicate" or another Taylor song? I may end up getting it in the future but in my opinion it's not the savior of the album.. It's more that safe "almost" smash to keep the fans asking for it.. It's the track on the album that may never get released.... I have no clue why labels do this but they do??

The verses and prechorus of Cruel Summer are nothing special but that chorus is total euphoria.

If we had Cruel Summer as the lead in May though, it would’ve been a pretty good smash hit. Then YNTCD, and then Lover, and then The Man remix with a female rapper or singer. That’s how I would have done this era. She wasn’t too far off if it wasn’t for ME!

The verses and prechorus of Cruel Summer are nothing special but that chorus is total euphoria. The verses and prechorus would be my favorite part of the song, but then that chorus kicks in and knocks me over every time. But that’s nothing compared to the bridge. What the fuck is this bridge?!?! I can’t help but sing along and fist pump every time (and I can’t even fucking relate to the lyrics tbh, but it feels that real). This is my favorite Taylor song, no doubts, no questions.

The album has entirely too much going on (too many tracks and lack of cohesion). That said, the following tracks are very good and would make a strong 11 track album.
Favorites:
"Cruel Summer" - Strong pop song, probably her best shot at a hit. "Lover" - Could be a signature song for her. Evokes nostalgia. "The Archer" - Initially disappointed due to lacking a climax but it works after repeated listens. "Death By A Thousand Cuts" - This is one of my favorites—seems to be generally ignored here. Love everything about it. "Afterglow" - Atmospheric. "Daylight" - Very 1989, what a great closer "Cornelia Street" - Again, would fit on 1989 effortlessly. Cute. "Miss Americana & The Heartbreak Prince" - It's very Lana—almost the to the point of parody but I submit to it, it's an earworm.
Others:
"False God" - This one continues to grow on me. That Sax! "You Need To Calm Down" - This sounds better when disassociated from the video. "The Man" - Very Carly Rae Jepsen. It's a bit generic but a marked step above from those not mentioned.
