Okay but the point is that no Americans heard the song as part of that album, but at least some did hear it as part of Real Fine Place. It was not released here until 2005, regardless of our ability to dig up obscure songs with limited releases, and even then it was buried on a Target edition of the record that came out long before those were regular things. The only way you even know it was originally on BTF would be because of the Internet not because you were jamming to the song back in 2001. This entire argument is ignoring the fact that we were only 7-8 years old in 2001. You act like the only reason we didn't discover it back then is because we didn't live internationally, when in reality the bigger factor is that we were too young to care about anything but toys and friends We could have literally lived in Europe and still not realized what was happening. By the time RFP came out, we were 12, by which age we were old enough to have fully started actively stanning. Our ability to care and seek out information was not even remotely similar for the two eras. But anyway, none of that changes when it was literally recorded and released. You also thought her Christmas material from the EP in 2009 was all-new at the time even though at least some of it was recorded as early as the 90s. So I guess the information seeking was selective. :kii: I didn't start becoming part of the country music online community until around like 2008, so I wouldn't have known "You" was part of BTF as an international bonus track until at least then. In 2005, I just got the CD and listened to it. The Internet was still primitive as fuck back then compared to now so let's not act like it was common knowledge back then for her fanbase to know that song existed let alone how to get ahold of it ( d3vin44 had to evidently get his hands on some 'rarities' collection to get it -- now we'd just ask Kanenrá:ke to upload it to YT or something... which is exactly what he had to do here so that everyone else could hear it because it still remains obscure af, lol).

Now that all the bonus tracks have been ousted, we return to the well of the standard edition for our next reveal, and album closer "These Four Walls" is the final song to round out our bottom 5. A lyrical tribute to motherhood and domestic gratitude, this ballad is one of the album's quieter moments and despite our highest loss yet courtesy of someguy at #3 and two additional top 5 ranks, this one received minimal support in the rankdown submissions. A pair of last place ranks and a majority of low ranks in the teens prevented this one from going any higher, though our next-highest song snuck ahead of this one by a mere three points, our first reveal with any sort of closeness in point value so far. It stood no chance of making the top 10, however. "I'm not famous but my kids think I'm a star I'm not rich but I've made a million memories so far I may not be a model But my man thinks I could be I may not be from royalty But in these four walls I'm the queen"

Oh good; I wrapped up tonight's set of Carrie Christmas reveals just in time to watch these continue! "These Four Walls" would've been nice to see in the Top 10, but I'm not too upset to see it leave just before.

The final song to miss out on the top 10 for the Real Fine Place rankdown is Sara Evans' steamiest song to date. "The Secrets That We Keep" is a lyrical oddity in the catalog of the usually demure Evans, but in this power ballad she sings about getting it on in the bedroom with her man in a way that recalls Faith Hill's "Breathe." It found its way into the top 5 of SHOOTER & bboat11's lists, and racked up a bit of support in the middle 6-9 range, but like "Walls," it still received more sub-top 10 placements than anything else which deflated its chances of reaching any higher than here. The Brazilian Guy 🇧🇷 is the lone #16 for this one, and four other presumably virginal folk put it bottom 3 as well. "Once we get inside these four walls All the hesitation falls We can't wait no more And as you help me get undressed You don't have to guess Baby, you know what I want I wanna love you 'til the sun comes up 'Til I'm sure you're satisfied Oh baby"

"These Four Walls" is a beautiful song, but easily is my least favorite on the regular album. I'd still give it a solid B+ as a song, so don't think I come anywhere close to hating it! It's just such an amazing album!!! The lyrics here are touching and strong, and the melody feels very intimate and perfect for the theme of the song.
Wow, I was NOT expecting a blindside for "The Secrets That We Keep" :'( :'( :'( This is incredibly disappointing. This has always been one of my favorite album tracks of her entire career. Her vocal here absolutely SLAYS me. And I have always been led to believe it is a bit of a fan favorite. It would have made a much stronger ballad single than "Baby" did. I really hope this can still find its way into the album tracks rankdown... Let's be real, this album has like 6-7 of her all-time best album tracks...

Cracking open our Real Fine Place top 10, "Bible Song" is the first song to be called home. This song features a classic country music storyline of tragedy told through a small town lens, and is notable for its polarizing refrain of 'hallelujahs' that cap the song. We get closer and closer to our first #1 loss as we come upon our first #2 casualty, courtesy of ClevelandRox who has thus far eluded any difficult losses. Perhaps our most polarizing reveal yet, as "Bible Song" racked up almost equal top half support as bottom half support, with only a few of its ranks falling somewhere in the middle. Unfortunately for it, the scales tipped heavier on the bottom side of things with a whopping four #16 ranks for this one. Jesus weeps. "No lovers in this town The moon's full but it sure ain't round And just because you lie in his bed Don't mean he meant the things he said"

Things start to get a little more competitive in this section of the rankdown as our #6-9 cluster of songs are all separated by a total of ten points, meaning they traded arrangements a lot throughout the submissions, and ultimately the time comes to an end for "Roll Me Back in Time" first among that group. Like our last reveal, it's a classic slow-rolling country story song, weaving the tale of a small town woman who falls for a man and tries to make ends meet as he searches for fame and fortune, only for her to be left waking up one morning to see him walking out on her -- and that gut-punch of a bridge is one of my favorite moments on the whole record. Unlike our last reveal where ranks were divided, this one received a little less fanfare or disdain in either direction and instead stacked up on ranks in the mid-section of most lists that were sent in; literally more than half the participants slotted this one in the narrow window of 8-10. However, it does have the distinction of being the only track thus far to not receive any last-place ranks! "I woke up to find him standing there With his suitcase in his hand
All the glitter out in Hollywood All the stars that never shine Oh, they can't hold a candle to your wind Could you roll me, could you roll me?"

Seeing her perform most of these songs live in 2006, Bible Song led the pack. Hauntingly beautiful. The hallelujah’s no joke had me in a trance. Stunning and a sad story.

It’s totally gonna be me. 😭 Sorry to tell you this, but you were right.... "Tell Me" exits next, just two-points ahead of our last reveal and only seven shy of finishing any higher. A very sweet love song with sparse organic production with shakers and steel wrapped in a warm vocal from Sara Evans, it was neither a shining star on this record nor deemed a clunker given its middle-of-the-road spread with its ranks across the submission process... with the exception of d3vin44 who sadly becomes our first poster to lose his #1. He wasn't alone in suffering a high loss as two posters ( Kanenrá:ke and kw9461) also lose their #2 here. On the other end of the spectrum, austin loses something from his bottom 2. "You're the one thing in my life that stays the same Through the seasons Everlasting, never changing You're the one thing And all I ask is Don't hold back"

For years Tell Me was a skipper for me, I would’ve ranked it at the bottom. All of a sudden one day it just clicked with me and is now one of my very favorite Sara songs. It’s sooooo beautiful and I’ve been in this position before. Like stuck in complacency and wanting to try anything to wake the love up again. Ugh it’s just so good!

Now things are going more or less as I expected. "Bible Song" is so hauntingly beautiful and unique. I can definitely see the "Hallelujah" refrain being a turnoff, so I expected it to be polarizing, and low-key thought it might even miss the top 10, so I am thrilled to see it make it. Just like "The Secrets That We Keep" though, the album tracks rankdown won't feel right without this song... "Roll Me Back In Time" is one of my underrated favorites from Sara's entire career. On this album "New Hometown" is the shining jewel (many would say "Missing Missouri" too, of course), but this one is like only a hair follicle below it on my personal preference list. The chorus is pure ear candy, especially the way she delivers "All the glitter out in Hollywood, all the stars that never shine", and I absolutely LOVE her vocal as she gets to the bridge and belts out the "everybody loves you; it's so easy to see. But it's only in your dreams" line As much as I love it, I expected it to be polarizing, and I am happy to see it at least in the top 5 album tracks. "Tell Me" is one that has grown on me a lot through the years. Not as much as d3vin44, obviously, lol. But I thought it was kinda boring compared to the rest of this album at first. As time has gone by, however, I have really come to appreciate the simplicity of the arrangement! Sara sounds absolutely fantastic here! I am glad to see this make it as long as it did. At this point, "You'll Always Be My Baby" is SEVERELY overstaying...

"Supernatural" lands just outside the top 5, in a tie that is broken by highest ranks and while they both had a lone #2 rank, the other song had more #3s. Still, a strong showing for this Celtic-influenced album cut that recalls the sound of her previous album's title cut, but even more enjoyable imo. It has a light breezy nature to it and some colorful lyrics that live up to its title. This one's performance in the rankdown was my biggest surprise as I watched submissions roll in, as I never anticipated nearly as much support as this one received -- it never threatened the top 5 as it lands about 70 points shy -- but it was consistently just under. LBTrocks loses his #2 here, and while few slotted it in their top 5, many lose a rank in the 7-10 range. "I'm a bee charmer for you, baby I get you honey if you've got the taste A little sting now and then, well, it does not bother me, no I don't mind no king bee buzzin' around my face"

The final tune to miss out on the top 5 for Real Fine Place is the album's fourth and final single release, "You'll Always Be My Baby." A modest top 15 hit on the charts, this has long been considered one of Sara Evans' least popular hits among her fanbase and many believe that there were stronger selections for radio that were left on the table... which seems to ring true by these results as at least two album cuts finished ahead of this one. That said, despite the disdain this one has often seen over the years, it still managed to pull off a #6 finish in this incredibly stacked rankdown, so maybe it's dislike a bit over-inflated after all! "Baby" is a classic 3-verse story song where three different scenario are presented and bound by a uniting chorus, which follows the narrator's coming of age into eventual motherhood and being on the other side of the coin. taylor loses her #2 and six other top 5s are lost, while ClevelandRox finally loses his last place rank here, the final one to do so. "There I was Twenty-one Oh, I was so ashamed Of what I'd done On a country road Parked one night Oh, it started out so innocent Crossed the line There was no denying I let God down But instead of being angry He let his love surround me and I heard..."

Glad that sap-fest is finally out. Such a terrible single choice, especially on such a loaded album. I love 3-act country songs, but that song is just sooo heavy handed that I just can't.

"Supernatural' is soooooooooooo good!!!!! Definitely one of my favorite Sara songs in general, that melody is just amazing! Sad it missed the top 5 Also sad that "You'll Always Be My Baby" (while tied with it) managed to come out on top due more high ranks. I've never much cared for that song, although it has gotten a bit better over the years I suppose.

Surprised yet also kinda not surprised by "Supernatural". This has always been a song that feels like it gets a little bit more love than I would expect. Don't get me wrong, it's a FANTASTIC song! But I would choose "Roll Me Back In Time" and "Bible Song" over it in a heartbeat. That Celtic-influenced production never gets old though I adored it in "Restless", and adore it again here. "You'll Always Be My Baby" is a great song, but a horrible single choice. It is one that I might have liked more if it had stayed an album track. I still cannot believe we had to settle for that with "Missing Missouri" and "New Hometown" sitting RIGHT THERE waiting...

You’ll Always Be My Baby was only a top 15!? I honestly thought the reason I feel the way I do about it was overplay! 😂 Maybe I was just annoyed that it was chosen as a single and felt disgusted by that every time I heard it on the radio. 😂

First casualty of the top 5 is "New Hometown," which reduces our album cuts down to the last one stand being "Missing Missouri." This one flirted with being the top ranking album track briefly throughout the submission process, and it put up a nearly 70-point barrier between it and "Baby," but it ultimately fell behind in the end. Long-revered as one of Sara Evans' best non-singles (that should've been!), this song is a total radio-ready jam with quintessential small town country observational picturesque lyrics laid over a standout melody with an engaging electric guitar-led production. It had all the makings of a hit (sounds like what Faith Hill was hitting with on radio at the same time on her Fireflies era), and performed like one in this rankdown as it racked up an impressive four #2 ranks despite it landing no #1s. About half of us had this one top 5, however, and it only landed a lone ranking below the top 10. "Every day we walk right past All the concrete and the glass I don't know where we're going I hardly ever see your face And there's not enough space For all the love we should be growing"
