"Something Burning Out" is mostly noteworthy for its powerful imagery. The lyrics and the dark, smoky vibe draw me in effectively every time. The melody might not be as engaging as many of her early career contributions, but the "maybe it's just something burning out that reminds me of us" hook is definitely one of my favorites in this rankdown.

"I Ain't Never" is catchy, and I am alright seeing it be the highest song from that album. However, it's good to see that album be eliminated now, so despite my #34 rank I'm glad to see it go! Now I expect the Come See Me and Come Lonely album will probably be eliminated tomorrow, lol. Rhinestoned may only be down to two songs, but I think "Someone Somewhere Tonight" will keep it alive quite a bit longer than whenever "Train Without A Whistle" leaves. Like, possibly even top 10 Similarly, "Dolly 1969" will probably keep Looking For A Feeling alive until the top 10 as well, even if we lose "Karma" and "Last Summer's Wine" tomorrow.

"Leave It All Behind" makes sense to leave now I guess. I keep forgetting to consider the Extras songs when I'm thinking about what will leave next, lol. This song was really hard for me to rank. The first time I listened to it for the Extras rd I thought it was really generic, but it has grown on me with every listen. I really enjoy how it has more modern production that is not intentionally weird and indie, like the Lorrie albums and Looking For A Feeling, lol. I would definitely enjoy more songs with this sound if Pam were to put out a modern album. Between this, "Say You Love Me", and "New Set Of Wings" I'm actually really curious to hear her put out more new music that sounds mainstream-friendly while her voice is still pretty strong! Even though radio wouldn't play her anymore, I think she could still put out a pretty great mainstream album if she wanted to.

Finally! "Karma" is positively AWFUL. Agreed. Definitely one of my least favorite songs from her. I totally forgot to catch up with some of the previous reveals, so I'll try and get to those when I can lol.

There are some aspects to “Mental Revenge” that I do like and while it has grown on me a smidgen more since the album rankdown, it still isn’t one that I’m necessarily fond of. Still, I’m not entirely sure it was deserving of a bottom 5 ranking from myself either lol.
Speaking of, I can’t really explain why I put “Leave It All Behind” just a spot shy of my bottom 10 as listening to it now, it’s a rather solid song on its own. The only thing I can think of is that this just happened to be a song that I forgot how it went whenever the time came to rank it amongst everything else, and so in turn it found its way towards the bottom of my list.
Something that I did realize while doing this rankdown is that the album Rhinestoned really left its mark on me as I lost quite a few high rankings from it. Those include a top 15 with “Something Burning Out”, a top 20 with “That Was a Heartache”, and a top 5 with “Train Without a Whistle”. Aside from “Down By the Water”, all three of those songs were amongst my favorite discovers from the album series overall and were songs that I kept wanting to come back around to revisit. I wish this album was available on streaming services because it also appears to be next to impossible to locate otherwise (a new audio cd on Amazon is going for almost $80!).
Considering that “Love Is Only Human” exited in the bottom 2 from its album rankdown, it makes sense that it would then be one of the first songs to leave from one of her earlier mainstream albums. This is another song that while I enjoy it on its own, it just doesn’t leave a lasting impression and I forget how it goes. And the only reason I can think that Marty Roe sang on this is that both Diamond Rio and Pam were label mates on Arista.

I'm glad you don't do closeness stats because mine would be embarrassing for this rankdown lol. I just think that I happen to like some of Pam's songs that are in the same vein as “Last Summer's Wine" compared to her more contemporary material. This song was such a great discovery and it's one that I'll for sure be coming back around to.

"Dolly 1969" was a jam. Sadly, it was pretty much the only one to be found on that album. :/

I actually stopped buying her albums after Thunder And Roses (though I do own her Christmas record), which is something I rarely do for artists I like. Her 90s material is definitely her best, imo.

Sweetheart's Dance loses its first song, which means Thunder and Roses is the last album remaining without any songs eliminated
Welp, I probably would have lost if this was a bet!!!!
