Also "How Gone Is Goodbye" is an excellent song, but I really don't have any complaints about it leaving now! Nobody even put it in their top 10, so the fact that it managed to be in the top 15 is good enough. I would have definitely put it in my top 10 if I could, but the upper regions of this list were so strong. This one was right up there with the strong stuff, but still had to settle for a #11 from me...
Now "Homeward Looking Angel" and "We've Tried Everything Else" better hang on and make the top 10!!!!! I want them to be top 5 as well, but I'm done trying to jinx all my faves!

"Calico Plains" has such a unique vibe to it, and I love it! Especially the way Pam sounds when she suddenly transitions to singing a little higher on the "Since we were tall as the corn in the spring" line. This couldn't quite sneak into my own top 10 because there was just so much strong material to be found in this rankdown, but I wouldn't have minded seeing it sneak into the overall top 10 here. Oh well, top 15 is still very good!
Also, wow at it getting all ranks in the teens, except for our host flopping again! This is easily one of the most consistently-liked songs we have seen so far!

Sweetheart's Dance continues to lose songs and is now down to just one song remaining: "Better Off Blue"!
Keep 'em coming! "Better Off Blue" is easily the least deserving of making the top 10 out of all that are left  |

"Melancholy Child" is definitely a bizarre song, but it also has its own very specific charm, so it kinda makes sense that it would do this well, but it also kinda makes sense that it would be the song to miss the top 10 out of everything that is left. Definitely a unique vibe. The slight Irish/Celtic flavorings are a nice touch, and she is probably the best vocalist to pull this song off.
I expected "We Must Be Thinking Alike" to do pretty well, especially after finishing at #2 in the album rankdown, but bottom of the top 10 is about what I expected for it. It is a very good song, but yet again plagued with production issues similar to the rest of the album.
"Better Off Blue" is apparently my turn to look floppy while everyone else ranks it high! This song is an enjoyable listen, I just find it to be in the more forgettable end of her '90s material. Like it is not one I would ever skip, but it didn't have any missed hit potential either. I predict that it probably would have done fine on radio, peaking in the top 10 because she was on fire this era but making zero impact and then disappearing forever. Whereas most of the songs that make the top 10 of these rankdowns could be considered legit hits that got away.
"Already Fallin'" is really great, so I'm thrilled to see it do so well considering that similar "Ancient History" was tanked out of the top 15! There is just something so catchy about the way she delivers this one. Hopefully "I've Seen Enough To Know" can hang on and make the top 5, 'cause her debut definitely deserves to have something last that long!

I'm impressed to see "All Of This Love" in the top 10 at all because I remember feeling like it was done a little dirty in the album rankdown! It totally deserves it though, because to me this one just has a really underrated catchy melody that always gets stuck in my head. "I've Seen Enough To Know" features more slayer vocals from Pam!!!!! I love the way her voice sounds on this debut album  Especially the way she absolutely shreds us with the high parts coming out of the instrumental solo!!! Love this one so much! |

Now what a FANTASTIC top 5!!!!! I think this is "Mandolin Rain"'s to lose, but I'm personally rooting for "We've Tried Everything Else". Would be happy with any of them though!

Giving "No Two Ways About It" another listen right now, and I'm definitely excited to see it make the top 5! It's not a flashy song by any means, but a very pleasant listen, and one that I will definitely come to love a lot more now that I know how esteemed of a position we placed it in among her best album tracks  |

"Homeward Looking Angel" is so amazing!!! It's one of those songs that I loved the first time I heard it, but have continued to love even more every time I have heard it. It is also a song that would have fit perfectly on Martina's The Way That I Am or Wild Angels albums, Faith's It Matters To Me, Reba's What If It's You, or Terri/Jo Dee/Lee Ann's self-titled debuts, or any number of other albums from other female artists in this time period, and could have been a huge hit for literally any of them. It has that universal "great song" feel to it, lmao. The fact that it didn't get to be released to radio is a crime. Very happy to see this top 4 finish for it!!
