Yeah, imagine if she did this and "Con Calma" on SNL, went on Ellen, Jimmy Fallon, had an American Idol performance even. Something. Anything. Imagine if all those shows were filming over the summer for anyone to promote on. I know that’s why I can only “imagine” but ok Also jimmy and Seth and Colbert were filming until like last week or something, so she could have done those. (I’m p sure they were all filming the week of Democratic debate)

As one of my team members put it in 2010: KP is a pop singer; LG is an artist. The fact that KP can still get radio play 11 years into her career isn't something to be dismissed. Two Pop Top 20 radio hits in a couple of months definitely doesn't qualify as radio shunning. There aren't many female singers that have that type of longevity, especially coming off an underwhelming era. Plus, next year starts a new decade. Not many female singers have managed to cross that the 3-decade threshold: 1970-80-90 (None?); 1980-90-00 (Madonna/Janet); 1990-00-10 (Britney, Xtina, Mariah, JLo). Except for Mariah, those 90s singers first hit around 1999 and their fortunes at Pop radio certainly took a sharp dive after 2010. Britney had a fantastic 2011 era and that was also the year of Jlos comeback. You’re absolutely correct on Britney’s 2011 boffo era, but after that it really has petered out for a variety of reasons. Kind of makes my point that 12+ years of consistent Pop radio for female pop stars is unusual. P!nk would’ve been included but her first hit was 2000 - she’s definitely an exception with almost 20 years of Pop radio acceptance, but P!nk is definitely near the end. Bottom line: KP is actually doing better than expected, so I’d suggest fans celebrate that, instead of focusing on the negative.

Pink’s last few singles have flopped. She’s not near the end. She’s past that.

To turn this back to Katy. Its a bad sign when you cant even keep your stans to focus the conversation on you vs every other girl in the industry.

She should have made the pre chorus the main hook instead. Agreed. The actual chorus is messy and is what ruins the song for me. The pre chorus is so good.

With those AI losses I dont think so Piggy backing on this comment. I usually get excited when I see small gains like this but I've learned when the AI loss is that much it can't be good. I hope I'm wrong because I really like this song and I want a "veteran" to succeed even if I'm not a stan. Edit: just looked at callouts and I can't imagine radio letting this continue even if Katy has had many hits in the past...

Am I the only one who finds the chorus extremely annoying? No. It’s EXTREMELY annoying. I’d find this completely harmless and maybe even decent otherwise.

A -0.573 audience is hardly a rebound... Let's hope it's not too late because this is the latest flyer from Capitol. It is too late. With those callouts and how brutal radio has been with poor callouts, I just don't see it unfortunately.

Even 3 years ago, callouts weren't the end all be all that decided which song is carried towards the top. I seem to remember Work From Home not having good callout scores either and it vaulted to #1 on Pop without hiccups. Have they really become that essential?

A few songs between #8 and #20 are losing spins, so this song could get some of those spins and hang around for awhile. It could possibly peak at #10 or #9.

I seem to remember Work From Home not having good callout scores either and it vaulted to #1 on Pop without hiccups. Have they really become that essential? There are other companies that also do callout research and even some radio stations perform their own callout research, we just focus on Mediabase's since it's the only one that releases all of its numbers publicly. A song can still perform well or poorly despite what Mediabase's callouts say because it might be performing well in another company's callout research. There are other things that contribute to a program director's decisions on the playlist too: sales, streaming, requests, any giveaways/interviews/tours that are upcoming, and even just name recognition and hunches. But callout research is probably the most vital of them all. But, yeah, it is important to remember that it is only one piece of the puzzle.

Pink’s last few singles have flopped. She’s not near the end. She’s past that. Beautiful trauma and walk me home underperformed but it could’ve been a lot worse. What about us was a solid top 10 hit. Those are her last 3 singles released to pop and they all went top 25, could be worse

In fact, this improved way more than songs usually ever do in one week, but when it started off as poorly as it did, that much of an improvement is still, well, bad. But at least it's trending in the correct direction.

Hopefully the improvements will at least give radio an incentive to bring it into the top 10 and perhaps its callouts will improve further.
