I just heard I’ll Be There for You by the Rembrandts. I’m not sure what number it was exactly but it played right after Sensitivity by Ralph Tresvant

That means there's more than a little subjectivity in this countdown. Fair enough. The 90's was a cluster-eff of a chart decade.

Yeah, ultimately there is no real way to measure the 90s charts due to so many differences in both releases (airplay only songs, songs with limited commercial release, and then songs with full releases) and chart methodology (obviously once Soundscan and BDS were used things became more accurate, but 1990 and 1991 didn't have that).

They are pulling airplay numbers for all the big airplay hits that had no or abbreviated chart runs

I hope they did not use Hot 100 Airplay chart runs, as that would not make sense and would highly benefit airplay-only songs.
For example, Billboard already stated that "Torn" and such wouldn't have reached #1 on Hot 100 based on just airplay, and would be lucky to get top 5 peaks. Yet looking solely at the airplay chart its an 11-week #1.
Top 5 & 11 weeks #1 is clearly a huge difference in chart run. It also wouldn't be fair to songs that were released physically since many had much bigger airplay chart runs and they would be discounted.
Airplay-only hits should be included in some way, but not that way.

Didn't Mariah's "Someday" spent like 10 weeks at #1 on Airplay, but only 2 at #1 on the Hot 100? Still, I get them wanting to include huge songs that didn't have Hot 100 peaks (or had misleading ones). I just don't know what a good compromise would be.

There is no good algorithm. It's like trying to mix apples and tractors.
That's why I didn't even attempt to incorporate radio-only hits in my top 500 predictions. But I still expect to see mega-radio hits like Torn, Don't Speak and Iris in or near the top 10 on this list.

My stream is a bit behind, but #100 is Mariah's I Don't Wanna Cry.
Would've been around #93~ on a list with no airplay-only songs (give or take a few positions). So around 5-10 airplay-only hits in top 100?

I really enjoyed the 90s countdown today except they played the worst remix of Madonna's Justify My Love.
They mention that one of the sources is "Hot 100 Airplay."

Another that came to mind even though it didn't reach #1 in Hot 100 Airplay was Lovefool.

Getting a little picky on an otherwise good show but the #1 song of the 90s had the bulk of its chart run in the year 2000
