On the other end of the spectrum, however, this received four bottom 5 rankings including two last place rankings from bboat11 and kw9461. tenor.com/Qij9.gif

So I've corrected the error and the lesson learned is to make sure that if there is a "The" placed in front of a song title that doesn't belong to make sure it's removed before copying and pasting lol. For this rankdown I was trying to simplify how I put all of the data into my spreadsheet and because of this one little "The" made someone's list go haywire when being transferred over. Anyways... The bottom 5 remains the same however there ended up being a few songs that got rearranged so here are the correct rankings: 40. "Before I Die" (343 points) 39. "Take It to the Bank" (337 points) 38. "How'd I Wind Up In Jamaica" (334 points) 37. "Good Ol' Fashioned Love" (331 points) 36. "Why Don't That Telephone Ring" (328 points) The #35 position still belongs to "Take Me with You When You Go" but there have been some subtle changes thereafter that I still need to correct before revealing any further. Not quite how I wanted to jumpstart my first artist rankdown but it's just a little hiccup along the way lol and I'll be back later this week to continue along. On the other end of the spectrum, however, this received four bottom 5 rankings including two last place rankings from bboat11 and kw9461 . tenor.com/Qij9.gifYes I'm tired.

So just a quick update...after literally locating "The" error that caused a list to go floppy I went back and updated everything from the previous page so that it correctly displays the bottom 5 in order as well as new trajectory charts for each song. It's going to be smooth sailing going forward!
I'm going to swing back around here in a bit and get us into the top 30!

"Lately (Been Dreamin' 'Bout Babies" was released as a single in late 2002 and while it peaked just inside the Top 40 at #38 it was never included on an album. Despite .indulgecountry 's best efforts by putting this inside his top 5 this ended up getting weighed down by not one but two late place rankings from George Strait Junkie and LBTrocks as well as two more additional bottom 5's.

"The Truth About Men" was the first single and title track released from Tracy's eighth studio album Written by Paul Overstreet, Rory Feek, and Tim Johnson, this peaked just outside the top 10 at #13 in 2003. This ended up being the most polarizing song of the rankdown which see's George Strait Junkie lose a top 5 and gardyfan a top 10 while at the other end of the spectrum is recordyear and castleoblivion26 saying goodbye to their last place song. This did sneak inside the bottom 5 at one point but ended up settling back into the mid 30's towards the end of the rankdown.

Considering that the next two songs are from the same album it seems almost fitting that they ended up in a tie. One of the songs had a top 10 and two top 20's while the other only had one top 15 and no top 20's...on the other hand the song that had a couple higher placements also ended up receiving three bottom 5's and had close to twice the standard deviation so therefore that ended up being the tie breaker.

"Someone to Give My Love To" was released as the second single to Tracy's self-titled debut album and peaked at #43 in early 1993. While this may not have been a success at country radio, I believe that the exposure Tracy received by the airing of the video on CMT did help to establish himself which set the groundwork for the follow-up single "Holdin' Heaven" to go on to become his first number one country hit. This remained a steady top 30 contender for much of the time as it received quite a bit of support from gardyfan's top 10 ranking as well as two top 20's from myself and Kanenrá:ke. This ended up falling outside of the top 30, though, thanks in part to bboat11's second to last ranking and only slightly recovered when kw9461 came in yet again with another second to last ranking. It's bittersweet to see this leave so soon because not only do I remember seeing the video all the time on CMT but it was my first introduction to Tracy as an artist. I was really hoping that this would make it into the top 30.

As I mentioned above #32 and #31 were tied in points and while "Someone to Give My Love To" may have had a few higher rankings it received just as many bottom 5's and also had almost twice the standard deviation as the next song...

"That's the Thing About a Memory" was released as the lead single from Tracy's self-titled debut album and written by Tracy, Keith Stegall, and Lewis Anderson. Released in 1992, it never caught on at radio and ended up peaking at #71. The overall support for this was rather middle-of-the-road with most rankings coming somewhere within the top 30 and while your's truly loses a top 15 this ended up being the second least polarizing song of the rankdown.

I knew "Lately (Been Dreamin' 'Bout Babies)" would be my first big loss and wouldn't last long in this, but I still maintain that it is one of his best songs. I fell in love with it whenever I discovered it doing the YE rankdown that it was included in. The melody and vocals are just great.

His "eyes" on All American Texan album cover are hideous.
Before I Die is too long and has boring melody. Slightly better melody for Take It To The Bank.
At least he switched up a little bit style in How'd I Wind Up in Jamaica. Even it is not particularly good it widens his discography I guess.
I like the fiddle in Good Ol' Fashioned Love. #37 seems a bit too harsh.
The worst part of The Truth About Men is music video. The lyric doesn't focus on hot women so why is the music video full of them? However, the look of early Blake Shelton is pretty funny.
The lyric of Someone to Give My Love To is so empty and non-descript.

I honestly love "The Truth About Men"! It is SO catchy. It definitely hasn't aged well from a lyrical perspective, but melodically this is nothing short of ear candy.

"Back in the Swing of Things" is an album track from Tracy's self-titled debut album released in 1993 and is the fourth song to leave from that album with only "Holdin' Heaven" remaining. Written by songwriting greats Buddy Cannon, Vern Gosdin, and Dean Dillon, this has long been a fan favorite and one that Tracy still performs live to this day. recordyear loses a top 10 while both Kanenrá:ke and LBTrocks say goodbye to a top 20. castleoblivion26 is the lone participant to lose a bottom 5 as he placed this just shy of last place.

"Better Places Than This" was the second single released from Tracy's ninth studio album Different Things and is his last official single which did not chart. The top 10 loses continue as this time Kanenrá:ke says goodbye to a song that was just shy of his top 5 while both recordyear and bboat11 lose a top 20. This ended up being the 11th most polarizing song of the rankdown, though, as this also received two second to last place rankings from gardyfan and Cody Wants Out....

"When Mama Ain't Happy" was a single released from Tracy's Keepers: Greatest Hits compilation and peaked at #31 on the country charts. This was also his last single released on MCA Records as Tracy signed with RCA in 1999. LBTrocks ain't gonna be happy as he loses a top 15 along with George Strait Junkie while four others lose a top 20. This flirted with the bottom 5 at one point thanks to Kanenrá:ke 's early last place ranking (and later joined by bboat11 ) but was able to regain its footing a bit where it finally settled inside the top 30.

"How Much Does the World Weigh" is track #5 from Tracy's seventh studio album Ten Rounds and is written by Michael White and Lee Thomas Miller. Thanks to the early support from myself and Kanenrá:ke this was an early top 20 contender but with two bottom 5's from castleoblivion26 and gardyfan it looked like this might miss the top 30 altogether. This ended up getting a helpful boost, though, from .indulgecountry's top 15 ranking as well as bboat11's top 20 placement. This has long been one of my favorite album tracks from Tracy and while I would've like to have seen this make it into the top 25 I'm happy just to see it make it as far as it did.
