Logic feat. Eminem - Homicide: ---> #1 on Spotify (2,720,770 streams), #2 on Apple Music and #2 on iTunes (combined). Shawn Mendes - If I Can't Have You: ---> #3 on Spotify (1,474,486 streams), #26 on Apple Music, #3 on iTunes (combined) and #92 on radio (21.6M first day with radio deal). Both songs have a chance to debut in the top 10. I'd say that even have a chance to go top 5, but it's early and I need more data to analyze.

Taylor absolutely collapsing on iTunes as soon as the second week begins. Old Town Road currently at a 34% lead over it already after being below it yesterday.
Shawn seems like he’ll get a top 10 debut. It did pretty good on YouTube first day too.

If the Old Town Road video is released before Wednesday, I think it's possible to have another 2:1 lead this week.

Lil Nas X has been teasing the video all week there's no way it doesn't release sometime this week, especially if the label wants to keep #1 next week from Logic & Eminem.

Lil Nas probably wants to save MV for Sheeran/Bieber.

Taylor absolutely collapsing on iTunes as soon as the second week begins. Old Town Road currently at a 34% lead over it already after being below it yesterday. To be expected. Taylor is heavily front-loaded in sales (both single and album). This happened last era as well. I look for her streaming to fall a lot more, with radio staying most consistent of the three and hopefully streaming and downloads balancing out a bit later in its run and remaining steady as she climbs in airplay (to counteract a quick chart run, ala LWYMMD). I am more anxious to see how the second single performs more so than this one already. Lol That is gonna determine how this era pans out IMO. So far the public reception isn't as bad as LWYMMD, and the image is back in the right direction (just needs a strong, less lyrically-cheesy follow-up and this era will be solid).

I think Taylor chose the best week to release her song. OTR was "weak" last week, now 3 versions in the top 20 of iTunes, bigger radio updates, but still without MV. OTR will have 10+ weeks at #1.

I don't think "Me!" is anywhere near Taylor's best (the lyrics particularly), but I think OTR is just awful (even worse lyrically than "Me!"). I mean "my life is a movie, bull riding and boobies"? lol I don't understand the excitement of this being a prolonged number one at all. I find its extreme success a bit embarrassing tbh. lol

Apple Music is basically a streaming version of Urban radio in the sense that rap and R&B dominate and sometimes you'll see a trap/urban influenced song being successfull (7 rings/TUN/Without Me). The only exception to this was Sucker, a pure pop song, that was #1 for 3-5 days.

This is a very good question: Why does Apple Music skew urban?

This is a very good question: Why does Apple Music skew urban? Apple Music used to get all the rap/hip-hop exclusives. I remember Drake's Views and some Kendrick Lamar being only on AM for a bit back in the day. That's why I chose it over Spotify anyway, and that's how I imagine a more urban-leaning user base was formed. Spotify, on the other hand, gets the vertical videos and curates great playlists for people that need someone to hand them songs to listen to–potentially why poppier songs, or songs featured on Today's Top Hits and all get streamed the most.

It's another Gucci Gang quality song IMO amd how is it not cliche? There are a million country songs using very similar themes and lyrical content as OTR. lol The content of the song is very cliche, the only thing unique is its presentation and that alone doesn't make it anything amazing.

This is a very good question: Why does Apple Music skew urban? Technically Spotify skews urban as well, just not as much as Apple Music. Does anyone else find it funny that Taylor is probably being blocked from #1 by a song with country influences?

Taylor blocked Nicki from getting her first #1 in 2014 with Anaconda.

Is Old Town Road receiving a boost from the Kentucky Derby? Its three versions have been green on iTunes for five consecutive updates.

I feel like JB/Ed Sheeran has an extremely good chance of debuting at #1 and knocking off Old Town Road. I did like Old Town Road at first, but the novelty of it is starting to run off for me at least.

Try using your brain. Tbf the only #2 peak Taylor has had since is "I Don't Wanna Live Forever" ("Me!" notwithstanding cos yeah). Why be mean? Everybody get together, try to love one another right now.
