What an entitled, narcissistic little brat. For all the growing up she's ostensibly doing, she sure is selective in how she applies it. A little maturity would go a long way. I might expect this bullshit from a 16-year-old, not a 27-year-old.

Whew! This is, word for word, exactly what a Karen would be screaming to the manager. "You're in the wrong and the customer is always right"...that's when you know someone has never worked in the retail/service industry. The customer is always the ASSHOLE.

As a manager in retail, I have to say Demi is the worst sort of customer and all of this is not a good look. This level of pretentious entitlement that she should get whatever the fuck she wants because she has had eating disorders, multiple drug overdoses, mental illnesses, numerous flop singles, etc. is outrageous.
I can understand her feeling a certain kind of way because of her issues but she really didn't need to go this far in such a public way to destroy and come for the business. Do not support or patronize this business if it bothers you that much. Go find other businesses that will give you what you need.
She really ought to go and work in retail or food service for a week just so she can truly understand how these people really have to work. Sure, she has worked hard to get where she is, but she has forgotten where she came from and lost sight of things that really matter. She is an entitled, spoiled brat. I doubt she would even last 15 minutes because of her level of delusion and attitude. They will eat her alive and she will get reprimanded for attacking the other customers when they call her out for not being able to properly assist them.
She needs to surrender her phone, her laptop, her tablet, and any other forms of technology to her management team and she needs to pack her bags and go immediately into a long term facility to get treatment and get counseling.
This whole 'California sober' nonsense she is peddling about her recovery is a copout. That is not a healthy longterm strategy for someone who has the types of issues she has. I know I will get attacked for saying this, but without the proper treatment plan and support system, it is only a matter of time before she relapses again, and I worry that it might not be something she can easily come back from or survive. She has come so close to dying yet she doesn't seem to be taking it seriously. It's really sad to see this and not be able to do anything to help.

I understand all of the bullshit she's been through, and I wish for her to find peace on her life, but where do we draw the line? She can't keep getting a pass just cause she's had a lot of personal hardships. She's an asshole and I'm done with her.

I just came here to post that “apology” but my eyes had rolled so far back into my skull, that speak-to-text wasn’t fast enough.
One of my favorite parts of the “apology” was when she said she “messaged” the shop to help them get the messaging for the items in the shop “right”, when they really didn’t need her advice in the first place. Also her unearthing a post of theirs from 2016 like those cookies are still sitting in the shop, collecting dust?!
Jesus take the wheel.

I love how the froyo insta has gained 6,000 followers since I checked earlier today (nearly double! And their most recent post has 3,500 comments while the next ones have like 80 and 28, etc.
This is the most impact Demi has had on anything since Cool for the summer was a hit.

Wouldn't be surprised to see this ordeal in her next documentary.
Anyway, we should be promoting small businesses not going against them.

Jameela Jamil has inserted herself into the narrative as usual.
Good lord I'm gonna silence some s**t on Twitter for a few days because this whole thing just straight up annoys me.

Demi’s ‘Sorry Not Sorry’ for dancing all over this froyo diet mess. Personally I think she’ll be fine eventually. Let’s keep her on a counselor and psychiatrist to keep her in-line.

Idk. Just take personal accountability? Something triggered one of her issues, BUT the company shouldn't take the hit.

Wow, in this era I did not expect her to go full Karen bully with the customer is always right and don't mess with me language LOL. Also, she wants the actual medical conditions listed on the packaging like I want everyone to know my and my loved one's personal medical history whenever we go anywhere???

They went from 6k to 20k IG followers in 48 hours. I’m going to be in LA this weekend and I’m tempted to swing by to see if there’s any acknowledgment of the brouhaha.

I played the album once and it did not do much for me. I always find her albums lacking. There are usually a handful of songs I really like, but the rest usually is pretty forgettable. I don't see a difference here thus far. I'll give it another few spins, but not particularly motivated to do so.

And to think she could have easily avoided all this drama had she just made a broad statement against 'guilt-free' labels. There was absolutely no need to target a small business for a product many others sell, and there was even less need to go on a tangent by vaguely complaining about sugar-free cookies and other diet foods.
Of course, this is just following a logical line of assumptions, because based on her DMs with the company, it seems like she was just being weirdly entitled and self-centered under the guise of 'activism'. Furthermore, if the 'guilt-free' product is not even being sold there anymore and she desperately clinged to that screenshot to make her cause more credible... I have no words - it's just beyond comprehension.
And no comment about that classic PR non-apology. Honey, the problem wasn't with the messaging alone, but the fact you, a multimillionaire, insisted on attacking a small business during a pandemic for something that could have easily been discussed privately. Between this and Taylor's "Ginny & Georgia" controversy, celebrities should really know better than to publicly air their grievances at an individual/group/company to their several deranged stans (not all, of course, but a loud minority that gives everyone a bad name).
I want to root for Demi - still do, but she really needs to get off social media. While I'm happy everyone has come to support The Bigg Chill, it just shows how much she's a laughing stock online, and that can really ruin someone mentally, especially with some of the vile comments she frequently gets (it's one thing to call her unlikeable, and flop, or even insufferable, but to constantly mock her appearance and personal issues is just low).

I saw those sugar-free cookies on her post, and, to give her a minuscule of credit, their packaging was really malicious and crass, pandering to the toxicity of diet culture and looking like cheap sex store cookies. It was manipulating your aversion from sugary foods to sell cookies that are described as “guilt-free,” as if eating typically “unhealthy” food is shameful or vile. What Demi did wrong is publicly attack the store for selling these cookies as opposed to raising attention to the fact that those cookies are horrid, carefully complaining to the store and telling them that it’s better if they don’t carry them. Then, if she was that gung ho for her advocacy about food and eating, precisely attack the manufacturer of these cookies. It’s clear that Demi didn’t handle things well, but, instead, she went on an irrationally hostile and snobbish celeb rant. Hopefully, this catastrophe teaches her to control and cope with her triggers and respectfully criticize and protest when needed by a situation.
