Joel Little has a habit (like many producers do) to make sounds that sounds ALOT like their other songs. Young, Dumb, and Broke by Khalid's instrumental was practically identical to what he did on Pure Heroine. There is definitely a lot of Lorde in this.

Still dark green on iTunes and has OTR back down to 0.58 (0.64 combined).

The view counter currently says 11 million views in 11 hours. Also, the extended version in the video is much, much better than the original. It makes it feel less like it goes nowhere and more complete I agree with this - my big problem with the song is that it ends SO abruptly.

Where do we think this will debut?
Also does anyone have audio of the Alabama censored version?

This song also very much sounds like the production of U2's "Numb". My friend pointed it out and you can basically sing her song right over it. Did she sample it or any other song?? I was surprised because I didn't know the U2 song prior but when she played it I could hear Taylor's voice etc etc. Maybe it was the power of suggestion??

It does sound "Paper Planes" inspired but I also think it is heavily inspired by "Royals". This. It's been pretty obvious how heavily influenced by Lorde's sound she's gotten from 1989 onwards, I'm surprised no-one really caught on to how much she hopped on her style. Not that I'm complaining or hating because I have loved Taylor's input in these last few eras, it's just ironic given their history together

If anything, Melodrama (specially "Green Light"), sounds a lot like 1989. Mostly because they share a lot of the creative teams.
But yeah, "Royals" had a huge impact on pop music.

You know I should be surprised, but I'm not. It's Trump's America: Chris Brown is in the top ten and we are censoring content that is gay positive. Not defending Trump but Chris Brown was Top 10 in Obama's America as well, he had a handful of hits during his presidency. Plus censoring content that is gay positive isn't a new thing, especially from Alabama. You can marry your sister but can't get an abortion, what a great state.

Yes, but since then we've have the #MeToo movement, gay marriage has become legal, and feminism and LGBT+ alliance has grown immensely. In 2019, we shouldn't still be dealing with abusers in the top ten and censoring the word "gay" on radio. That's literally backwards from the progression during the Obama era into even early Trump. My comment was more of a "this is what our president wants" and less of a "this is our president's fault."

This song was a solid B for me, but I'm definitely liking it a lot more now after that music video. What a great visual. So much replay value. The cameos had me shook. "ME!" was an okay song with a terrible bridge but this is a much stronger effort from her. I always look forward to her albums, but I'm a lot more excited about her new era after this song/video than the lead.

Where do we think this will debut? Also does anyone have audio of the Alabama censored version? If this version is real, aren't the appropriate questions: 1. "Did the radio station hire someone to sing the word 'lame' about paste on the original version?" 2. "Did the label issue an amended version that was recorded by Taylor?" The answer to those questions would solicit some very interesting responses.

If this has been brought up, ignore my drunk ass, am I the only one who hears "Royals" from Lorde in this? Not at all. That was my first initial thought too. I started singing βIβve never seen a diamond in the fleshβ over the beginning instrumental lol. It doesnβt really help that both songs are in D Major This song is a cute little new direction for her conceptually, but damn has she downgraded a long ways from her earlier songwriting. Her choruses this era are awful

If the Alabama version is real and not endorsed by Taylor/the label, they could demand they stop playing that version couldnβt they?

Spotify streams increased yesterday in both the US and globally. #2 US and #5 global. (Streams for "Me!" also increased in the US and globally).

Are we still ragging on Chris ten years later and both parties have reconciled and moved on? Yeah, like what the heck? All he did was beat the crap out of her. Seriously, people need to get over it. Her face was basically back to normal 6 months later. /S

Are we still ragging on Chris ten years later and both parties have reconciled and moved on? heβs proven with plenty of other women, not just Rihanna, that he clearly has not learned anything within the past ten years. a simple google search will show that heβs still an abusive piece of s**t, so yes, we are and we will continue to.
